I recently joined 24 Hour Fitness and overall think this is a great gym. There are two floors, the…read more1st floor contains the pool, steam room, lockers, large class studio, stretching area, heavy bag and sauna. The 2nd floor is divided into two main areas, the cardio area and weight area (both machines & free weights). Joining was very simple, I sat down with "Nur" the Fitness Manager who laid out the available options. I went with the national Program paid annually. Some improvements I'd recommended are more abdominal machines like a Roman chair, I'd also like to see significantly more full elliptical machines, most of the ones there don't have moving arms, which is half a work out. Overall, this is the best value gym in Bergen County. Everyone I've met there is extremely curious and non judgmental. The staff is very friendly, always smiling when you check in and they do their best to keep the place clean. It can get busy during peak hours, but during work hours you'll have the place to yourself to do your own thing. The guest pass is a no brainer to be able to bring your spouse (who is on the treadmill in my photo). Like anything in life, the more you put into your workout, the better the results. This is a budget type gym, where you bring your own towel, but there are plenty of water fountains to fill your bottle. I'd rather bring my own clean towel and pay less for a place with lots of amenities. For the money I'm going to give 24 Hour Fitness 5 stars. The other gyms in the area are double the price and not all are national chains. Hope to see you all there in the future as we all get in shape.

I signed up for 24 hour fitness at Ramsey at Thanksgiving time. I've used the Ramsey gym as well as…read morethe Paramus gym. I'm very disappointed in the equipment on the elliptical and it's rattling and shaking as I'm working out. The equipment is not being kept up. This also includes the bikes in cycle class. A few weeks back the class that I like on Thursday night was canceled. they no longer have pump class on Thursday evening. One of the reasons I joined this gym was because of the classes. In the few months that I've been here classes have been canceled or there aren't enough classes for me after work. I use the elliptical religiously, but getting on the machines has proven to be a challenge. There are so many people using the machines and waiting in line to get on the machine and this impedes my workout. The women's locker room and restroom have been consistently untidy every time I've gone to Paramus it's very disappointing. I'm scared to use the toilet because they're just not looking clean and kept up. I also did a review for the Paramus 24 hour fitness on YELP and on Google reviews. The manager reached out to me and asked me to submit my concerns on their online portal which I did a month ago and no one has reached out to me. I've belonged to many gyms in my time and I'm very disappointed in 24 hour fitness

Their membership is high if you compare it to other places in the area that offer the same exact, and even better, classes - at the time I joined, I did not know the Wayne Community Center offered those, and I wish I had because they charge 50% less than Spa23 and have amazing trainers. In all honesty, I'm disappointed at how they handled my last billing. I had decided to set up personal training sessions with a trainer named Ricky, I trusted him and my mistake was not asking questions when we sat down to sign the contract, however, as an employee, he should've made sure I understood what I was signing - he did not explain what his rates were, nor how much I'd be billed for the month, so they billed me $212! I had already moved and canceled my membership with them, but they still billed my account. The person that reached out to me to explain the situation was nice, but no resolution was given - I'm now 45 minutes from Spa23, my money was never refunded, and credits for a different service can't be given. I know people who had gone to Spa23 and ended up leaving, both trainers and members, due to their dislike of it and how much of a "chain management" it had, but I truly didn't think I'd experience that firsthand.

I use to belong here many years ago, I left because the cardio area, where I spend 80% of my time,…read moreon the treadmill was so hot, even though I mentioned it to management many times... after probably 8 years I decided to check them out again...they assured me everything was updated since I was last there... NOPE. Still a significant difference in temperature when you go into the cardio area, probably 20 to 25 degrees warmer than everywhere else.. Its almost tropical. It stinks because rest of gym is quite comfortable, nice and cool. Why wouldn't they invest in some ceiling fans to circulate the air at least?? at the rates they charge? when I joined my current gym I made a comment about the temps there as well... about a week or 2 later, they went and installed fans in every corner of the gym to circulate the air. I was impressed. My current gym is much smaller, their fees are more than half of Spa 23, and they are 24/7 which is huge for me, and its nice and cool. Their treadmills even have little fans built in which are pretty strong. So I will not be returning here... too bad, they're equipment is pretty impressive.
