Our one night stay at the dome was a delight! We had many emails and text communication before and throughout our stay. It was very helpful to be able to text our hosts if we had any questions. They were very attentive and felt like they were part of the Star Wars cast. We enjoyed using the hot tub, sauna, cold plunge and landspeeders! Everything was clean and only one landspeeder was out of use. The instructions to get to Outpost X was clear but when we left, there were no signs on how to exit the way we came back. Google Maps instructions took us to another road where our car got stuck in the mud and we waited 75 minutes for a tow that Outpost X referred. ***What an amazing hidden gem in UT!!*** This was our very fast campaign/glamping, went there with no expectations and came out with lifelong memories! I booked one Dome and one Cave for my 2 kids and my parents. They had no idea where we were headed, it was a surprise trip for them all. At one point when we went into the dart road (with our minivan) in the middle of nowhere from local highway, they all got scared (even I was nervous). But when we reached the camp...we all were in awe! Greg welcomed us right away (he is such a sweetheart), gave us tour of the whole place. We spent 2 nights at the Outpost X and the Greg-Morris-Robert team made our stay even more special! We had some water issues in the Dome and Robert tried his best to fix it with the limited resources he had. He and the team kept coming back to check on us. Greg & Morris just arrived here as the caretakers less than 2 weeks ago...but we felt like they have years of experience in this!! Mood- Perspective Each experience is what you make it. I've had many highs and many lows. So I tend to make lemonade on my adventures. Today was a bday present to my boy as he wanted a road trip, mixed with adventure, topped off with something he hasn't done before. I've had this place on my radar so I thought it would be a perfect bday celebration for my son. You go online to their website decide if you are staying the night, or if you just want to hang out for the day. Day passes are about 12 hours long. You pay online, and are given instructions on how to get there. When you arrive the check in is on the honor system. You are in the middle of no where. You park at the designated area, and at this point let your imagination guide you. If you are a fan of Star Wars like me or Dune you'll get a kick out of the simplicity of this experience. Picture post apocalyptic with a slight modern twist. Now not all things might be running, the bathrooms I'm assuming are on septic there is showers in each, and the landcruisers are rechargeable. There is a lounge area where you can rest, play some instruments, watch movies should you choose, or create art in the corner. There are inground trampolines, spas and a cold plunge. Also there are a few art Installations on the grounds as well. You can bring your own food to cook if you have a day pass. There is a kitchen area that is situated at the top of the steps, that has burners, water ect. I can't speak for the rooms, but there are domes, tents, 3 cave style rooms, and yurts. Because it is self service on the honor system, it is pretty much DIY here. Now I do want to point this out, for the landcruisers, you scan the QR code, fill out the info, smile at the camera, go to the paper tablet fill out your name, and which cruiser you took. Fill out time out and def put time back IN. Be mindful, kids are not allowed to drive these at all, and if you break anything on them, cause damage, run them in the water, well you'll have to pay for that. Would most def recommend if you are into something different, something outdoorsy, and something dusty. Pricing is typical for everything now a days. Inflation is here. I really wanted to love this place, but OutpostX turned out to be one of the most disappointing trips my wife and I have ever taken. The website makes it look like an immersive desert escape, but in reality it's a half-baked, unsupervised photo-op with little care for guest experience. We arrived around 12:20am after a full day of work and a long four-hour drive. Google Maps nearly sent us through someone's private property before we turned around and came in from the far side of the lakebed. Only later did we notice more detailed directions hidden in the FAQ page. By the time we got there, there was no check-in help, no tent assignment in the guest portal or on signage, and the "support number" turned out to be text-only and answered by someone off-site who clearly wasn't familiar with the grounds. After driving in circles, we were reassigned close to 1am to a different tent we had already spotted. The one originally assigned to us was tucked behind the main buildings and staff area, completely hidden from view in the dark with no signs indicating more tents were in that direction. Not a great way to start. The facilities were just as disappointing. The shared bathrooms were filthy, filled with flies, a strong septic odor, and towels covered in dust as if they'd been left out for days. The door didn't even lock properly. A lidless trash can sat outside baking in the desert sun, drawing even more flies. The whole place gave off the feeling of being abandoned rather than run with care. That sense of emptiness carried throughout the property. There were no schedules, maps, or signage to guide you. The "lore" scattered around was clearly AI-generated filler rather than real character interactions, and aside from the occasional guest briefly leaving their "cave," the place felt lifeless. The amenities were equally disappointing. The spa's tubs all had dirty water--murky, filled with dead bugs, and algae. One sauna was missing a door, and the towels there looked like they hadn't been refreshed in days. Some tubs were literally cheap plastic containers buried in the ground, a far cry from the pristine photos advertised online. The "speeders" were unsupervised, checked out through a QR code Google Form, and up close looked poorly built. The liability waiver felt more like a trap than protection, putting all responsibility on guests--even for faulty equipment--while reserving the right to charge your card for any "damage." Food and drink were another mess. The only option was their "culinary experience" package, $97 per person or $154 for two, which breaks down to $32+ per meal for vacuum-sealed ingredients you cook yourself. Tents don't even have fridges, so it was unclear how this would work. On top of that, no substitutions were allowed for dietary needs, and there were no other options on site. There's supposedly a self-serve mocktail bar, but we never found it. For tent guests, the only fallback was questionable water from the bathroom sinks. Other advertised features were either missing or neglected. The Kaan Lounge was dusty, empty, and unclear about whether its art and music supplies were meant for guest use. The Cantina, rake garden, and "atlatl throwing" were nowhere to be found. Scattered props across the lakebed looked more like abandoned junk than immersive set pieces. Staff were almost indistinguishable from guests, rarely engaging, and at one point one walked around blasting music from a pocket speaker, shattering what little immersion there was. To be fair, the tent itself was the best part of the experience--clean, well-decorated, with a comfortable bed and heated blanket with individual controls. The A/C was too loud to run overnight but worked well enough beforehand, and the swamp cooler helped during the day if run on max. That said, a gap under the zipper door made it impossible to fully seal, leaving us uneasy about critters or even venomous animals wandering in. And while the stargazing in Southern Utah is breathtaking, that's thanks to the region, not the resort. In the end, OutpostX sells itself as an "immersive escape," but fails on the basics. In dismissive replies to other reviews, they've claimed that cleanliness, safety, and upkeep are "luxuries" and not part of the theme. In reality, those are the bare minimum for any resort. What could have been a unique desert experience is really just an overpriced, unsupervised photo-op. Having worked at Evermore Park, I've seen how ambition can sink a promising concept--here there's neither ambition nor care. Check the other negative reviews; they're accurate and paint the same picture. First off, this is a campsite & not a hotel. With that said, expectation level is set. To much of our surprise, this place offers way beyond a regular campsite & more! We stayed in the Viking tent which was well decorated, spacious, takes you out of a regular environment. Heater & air conditioning system were provided. Best perks came in the form of a memory foam bed, electric blanket, soft pillows & high count sheets. We slept like babies! There's hot & cold water. Shower pressure was strong and shower heads do not skimp on water output! The speeders or sand cruisers are included in your stay. No extra nor hidden fee! And it's on a first come first serve basis. We had a great time using it exploring the area or just going back and forth to our tent & the playa! They also have outfits for cosplaying but you are more than welcome to bring your own collection! There's plenty of amenities to choose from if you want to stay active, there's places to hang if you just want to chill. They do have meal offerings if you forgot to bring food. Staff are friendly & helpful. Shout out to Travis for being the most gracious host! Maraming Salamat! Out here, you are in charge of your time & pleasure. First off, we found rodent droppings in our cave and even in the utensils holder. We had to wait HOURS past our check-in time due to running water issues, yet they charged for a $50 "late checkout" of a few hours. None of the hot tubs worked. Our "cave" didn't have running water for most of the time. I couldn't wait to leave, and will not return. All the stuff about "don't expect perfection or 5-star" is such BS as all the basic expectations of a working toilet, sink, shower, cleanliness etc were not met. The area isn't as far removed from light pollution as one would hope, so even the location during a new moon would be a disappointment for night photography. We stayed here for a total of three nights and had an enjoyable time. The communication was great we always felt like we could get assistance if needed. The amenities they had were a great touch including the trampolines, mocktail bar, game room, pools and land cruises. You could tell there was a lot of thought and creativity that went into the creation of Outpost X. I haven't seen any concept like this before. However that being said It seems like everything was kind of rushed. The main reason for the 3 stars was primarily due to the fact it seems almost unfinished. Also a fair warning that the activities such as hikes are far from the location. You can expect to drive anywhere from 1-2 hours to get to town or a hike. read more

We were there last week 10/16/25 to celebrate our 18th years anniversary! Everything was perfect! I would love to stay in their dome or caves but it was sold out years back when I book my trip, I even asked the day we arrived if somebody cancelled or re-scheduled, but no luck nice try, Lol.. We stayed in Tent #2 and everything was cute and cozy! The bed is so soft and the bed makes you dont want to get up, the sheets are so soft and the heated blankets are perfect for colder nights, theres even a portable fireplace, a fan or ac for hot sleepers like me.. It rained 3 days ago per the staff so the property was filled with a little swamp of water here and there but definitely we can still drive the cruisers around We spent the night in Vegas then drove 3.5 hrs to get there, it was a fun drive to Utah with all the rocks and colorful soil, what a creation of God! The day before we arrived, they sent us a message for our upcoming trip, told us what tent we are going to be plus the wifi password, WOW WOW WOW!!! They even told us avoid apple map and instead use google map for thorough route and being an apple user i still use my apple map and my husband used google map lol, so the apple map get frozen on some arizona road at utah road so definitely use google map, ok so we finally arrived at the destination and headed straight to our tent number without checking in , I checked the tent right away if it will be cozy enough for the night because its freezing cold and windy when we arrived which u loved but imagine at night it will be more, but ooohhhh im delighted will a the stuff that tent has, yehey!!! so my husband finally flew his drone and capture the beautiful surroundings!! Its unbelievably made! We went to the main areas to explore and oohhh theres a starwars theme music everywhere which will make you feel you're in a different world, finally met the lady staff ~sorry i forgot your name but youre the best (my post partum fog brain still active) she greeted us and told us abt the property and told her that i watched a lot youtube videos but she still run every concerns we have.. I asked about the extra add ons that I purchased separately from the stay which are the drinking horns $40 each and the culinary experience (3 course meal) $149 for two , $99 per head i believe so 2pax is a deal which she said will be delivered in our own fridge in the cantina.. I went upstairs to the cantina and boom, its so pretty!!! Complimentary coffee (keurig machine with pods) also theres a mini bar which u can mix your self brought alcohol .. All the best!!! The guy i forgot his name sorry again, introduced his name and filled our fridge with the "Culinary Package" stuff that we bought , he is such a help! he told us how the property was developed and how he got in that place etc etc.. I love the staff!!! So knowleagable!!! I checked whats included in the culinary experience package and its 2 steak , 2 salmon, 4 eggs , lemons, pesto sauce, chili sauce somethin', 4 naan bread like a pita bread, 2 packs of salad and a thousand island dressing kind of thing, 2 packs of vege with carrots brocolli somethin and 2 packs of red rice kind of thing.. wow!!! Cantina --- it has everything you need, pots, pans, utensils, knife, bowls, plates, serving spoons, ladels, oil, salt pepper, seasonings! u name it! Stove is a portable butane and butane is already there just pop it in, paper towels, what else, everything! So if you're staying for more than a day u definitely can bring your own food to cook. But as a Filipino next time I would bring with me is my soysauce, vinegar, ketchup etc.. Lol Cantina also offers a seld checkout stuff, water bottles, sodas, sparkling drinks, hawaiian punches etc.. for $1 $2 prices, but you can always bring your own drinks ofcourse.. Dowstairs the cantina is your shared restroom which has towels , complimentary tampons, sanitary napkins etc, unbelievable!!!! It reminded me of our bathroom in the Philippines which is a toilet area and a shower area.. Lol.. Theres 3 so you can definitely share with people.. Zen Domes and Caves have their own previate restroom inside their caves and domes only Viking Tents shares this showers and restroom but totally fine because its private locked individually.. Main area includes hot tubs, sauna, cold plunges, and the trampouline!!! Haters going to Hate~ Lovers going to Love this Space Adventure!! I also stayed During the Soft Opening time from April 16-19th and had no idea what to expect and it was amazing! Sure there were a few Kinks to work out, but that is what Soft Openings are all about and it actually added to the adventure and made you feel like you really were on the last Outpost in our Galaxy. It was a three hour drive from Las Vegas, which was a Beautiful drive through the Mountains in the BMW Convertible I rented. We stopped off in St. George along the way for some booze and extra snacks, which you will want to make sure you do, because you are heading to the last Frontier. Make sure to follow the directions and do not used WAZE like we did. If you use Google maps and their directions you will have no problem. I like to drive fast while in in great open spaces and WAZE tells you where the Police are, but they are not very good with dirt roads in the middle of nowhere. We arrived just before dark. It was are fault completely, especially since the place is so new. It was all part of the Adventure. When you see the big Wood X's you will know you made it. Travis and his team were great in contacting us and keeping in touch. We were so excited to make it at Sunset time, which it completely majestical when you are in the middle of the desert surrounded by snow capped mountains. I think April is the perfect time to go, the weather during the day was perfect and evenings were a little chilly which made it very cozy. We stayed in Cave Lux 2 and were tickled when we opened the door. It was like a Mix of the Flintstones and Tattooine. There is an awesome Clear Skylight above the main bed for Stargazing and bringing in great natural light during the day. We had two refrigerators which was great for all of the food they provided (which was epic, tasty, and healthy) and the other for our booze, snacks and fruit. There were three bedrooms in our Cave. We used two for sleeping and the other as our closet. The Bathroom with a rain shower and nice toliet and sink were also better than i had expected. There was a small table and two chairs for eating which was perfect. When we wanted to unwind, have a few drinks and meet some others we went to the space lounge which we loved and spent our nights in. There is a great Bluetooth speaker that you can hook up to and play what ever kind of spaced out or Escaping to paradise music you would like and we did. There is a delightful heater that you can turn on to make the red lit space even more welcoming and cozy. We met some other very interesting people that I am still in touch with. Out Door Activities Sauna, Cold Plunge, Jacuzzis, recliner chairs, mud baths and Speeders. It took a little while to get the giant barrel sauna lit, but wants we did it was piping hot and awesome to go in out between the cold plunge. The Jacuzzis at Sunset are also a must the views are breathtaking. The Land Cruisers were also fun and great if you are into Cosplay and want to catch some great videos and pics. I bought a drone just for this trip and was able to catch the magic pretty well for a first timer. It can get really windy with dust tornados and gusts, so hang on to your hats. I cought us with the drone get caught in a dust storm. It was Hilarious. All in All we had a Stellar Time. It is like nothing I have experienced anywhere else in the world and i have traveled a lot. I will be going back in the near future for sure. As for all of the bad reviews here, some people just like to put others down and complain. Maybe stay home if you want everything your way. Outpost X is truly Visionary and going to do great. Of course they are going to have some hiccups in the beginning and everything might not have been exactly as it had been planned. That is called a work in progress. I applaud Travis and his team for following their dreams and executing them. Things are only going to get better. You have long and fruitful future ahead of you. Overpriced and dirtier than a Mexican prison. Disgusting customer service and disgusting venue. They didn't bother getting anything ready. Zero communication. We came 3 hours past check in, though they knew we were arriving as mentioned over e-mail by me, and also through text with our friends. We made a last minute choice for our friend's bday (though 5 days prior to the trip). They got a dome and we stayed in a tent as the only option left. No one reached out to tell us which tent was ours. We had to physically find someone to ask. Then our tent wasn't even finished. Literally had boxes inside as though it was a storage unit. Our friend's dome wasn't any better. No electricity, water, or heat. We then had to find a manager, who is obviously too stuck on herself and her crutches to do her job. When we brought to her attention the situation she started screaming asking what we want from her?! About a place to sleep that we paid for? About communication? About heat? About water? About electricity? Then the gaslighting began. "Oh I gave you the wrong tent number." No you didn't. I overheard you telling maintenance you were switching us to another tent. So we go there...as they are changing the numbers in the tents. Haha. Ok. Guess what we found inside? A filthy tent with human fluids all over the pillow and bed. Dog hairs dirt, etc. First you insult me, then you insult me some more. I didn't drive 4 hours to sleep in my car. It's a tent the bare minimum you can do is make sure it's got a clean bed and is warm in 30 degree weather. We eventually found out this place is a s*** show. The maid put in her two week notice and it was her day off. Uhhh...not my problem. Stop pretending you need crutches and go clean. We saw you going up stairs. You are the manager. It's your responsibility. Make sure the accommodations are ready for guests. You aren't doing us a favor. We are paid customers. I don't mind the mud, the snow. What I mind is what knows what fluids on a pillow I am supposed to put my face on. I didn't pay to be treated like this. I didn't pay so I can check my empathy radar. I didn't pay for pneumonia. I drank so much alcohol during this trip to cope my liver jumped ship. Also check your bank statement Outpost X overcharges ($500+ vs $320 for the dome). Despite showing you a final payment it is not consistent with the transaction posted. They offered us a refund only if we don't post about our experience. That's ok. I would rather be honest and save you all the headache and fake reviews. This is why chargebacks exist. read more

This place was so fun! We had been waiting for them to open and were finally able to go on our dome stay. It was freezing cold outside but we were warm and comfortable in our dome. We also got the food package which was super helpful after long days hiking at Snow Canyon State Park. We used the jacuzzi and sauna which was awesome. We used the meditation space to stretch out and relax after. We cruised the playa in a cruiser. We even got snowed on which cool. We'd never been to this part of Utah and it was gorgeous. My only recommendation is more kitchen utensils like tongs. read more

We were totally excited to check this venue out and would have stayed there if it hadn't been fully booked (which in the end I'm glad we didn't). Flew into Vegas and outpost x was our first stop in Utah. Bought day passes and planned to spend the day driving around the cruisers on the playa, doing a cold plunge or 2, and chill in the hot tubs for the day. That did not happen. First after mapping ourselves there and the map taking us through a crazy somewhat dangerous desert road but we finally made it there. There was a much easier way to get there but there was zero signage on the main road indicating an entrance. When we finally arrived we were left to just figure it out. There was no staff on-site the day we went (Saturday 4/4) there was no signage or instructions anywhere on how things worked. There was a guy there fixing the cruisers, said his gf worked there but that no one was there that day and he had no information he could provide us. That said all of the cruisers were broken except one, which was in use when we got there and since they are electric barely had any charge when brought back. While we waited for it to be returned so we could drive it around we decided to alternate between the gold plunge and the hot tubs. We couldn't do this. What I think were the cold plunges were filthy and had algae growing on the surface and none of the hot tubs were operational and didn't even have a drop of water in them. We looked for trampolines but didn't find them. The bathrooms were filthy. We stayed about 15/20 mins and left even though we had purchased 3 day passes. I emailed multiple times to inquire about getting a refund but no one ever responded. Not even to say sorry about the amenities not working. This place has amazing potential but there's no one managing this place. The execution is absolutely terrible and we feel scammed out of the money we spent. I really wanted to recommend this place but just can't stay far away from it. read more

Had the most amazing experience at Outpost X! We stayed in the dome during a cold season and it was still warm inside! The spa jacuzzi was 90 degrees so it was perfect for us to enojoy the weather. We also had an amazing time with the amazing hosts, Morris and Greg who were so friendly and fun to talk to! Morris also gave a tarot reading! This review is for anyone planning to go there and stay at the tent or maybe even the caves. Just lots of info before going. Booked this place as a surprise birthday trip for my husband who is a big star wars fan. We ended up in a viking tent because the caves were all sold out. Prior to coming here, i did my research and know that it's a remote place and amenities would be limited. We received all the info for our booking through text message, i didn't have to check in with anyone. We stayed at Tent #1 which was closest to the common area (kitchen, lounge and bathrooms) It was clean and spacious enough for the two of us. The tent has a gas heater and looks like a swamp cooler, we used the gas heater and it kept us warm all night, they have a heated blankets as well. The tent has a light but I would highly recommend bringing a more powerful lamp. The kitchen has assigned fridge for each tent, 2 stoves, microwave and kettle. There's also a fridge with bottled water and canned mixers if you want to make your own cocktail. There's styro cups, paper plates and plastic utensils as well. No shot glasses or wine glasses. There's 4 bathrooms with showers each, the hot water takes a while to warm up and it's not super hot but warm enough to use. They each have towels and hand towels for use. As for the things to do at the outpost x, we used the hot tub, looks like 2 of them are working, the one inside the cave wasn't working during our visit, there was nobody else using it so we kind of have the place to ourselves. We checked out the lounge as well which has a projector to watch a movie which we didn't use, but it's a nice hang out area, i wish they put some board games and cards in there for playing. We used the cruiser as well which was really cool, there's instructions that you have to scan before using the cruisers. They are pretty easy to use and we drove it around to check out the area. All in all, it was an awesome experience for us. I wrote this long ass review to help someone planning a trip there so you know what to expect, so you're welcome! While we did not spend the night, we made an entire day out of the Outpost X offerings. We spent time in every building, every pool, driving around in our space car, jumping on the trampolines, spending some much needed meditation time in the zen-iest zen lounge! The mocktail bar was stocked well and we didn't bring any cocktails with us, so the mocktails were fun and refreshing. There isn't a lot of help around the property, which I enjoyed. They were there if you needed something, but otherwise, they don't hover around the guests. We will be coming back with a large group of people and renting out caves and bubbles. I just might claim the big, wooden bed out in the middle of the dessert for night sky viewing. This place has so much potential and I'm looking forward to watching it grow, and experiencing every new installation or attraction that is added. We had so much fun driving the landcruiser cars around the riverbed, hanging out in the Kaan lodge, and dipping back-and-forth between the mud bath, the rinse bath, the cold plunge, and the hot tub. We highly recommend you adding the costumes on, it's so much fun. Helpful hints: Be prepared for true dessert dust. Know that the nearest town is like an hour and a half away, so bring your own food or pre-order the food packages they offer. read more

Had an amazing time out at OutpostX! Great to get away for a beautiful relaxed weekend. Stayed Friday through Sunday morning and enjoyed all Saturday, relaxing with very little people around exploring the area on our mountain bikes that we brought . Enjoyed the jacuzzi, the lounge and the amazing food in our fridge with the culinary package we added. Slept in a Zen Dome and enjoyed waking up to a beautiful sunrise over the desert. It was just the relaxing weekend away from everything that was needed while having all the accommodations at home available to us. Also was fun to drive around in the fun sand cruisers! This was a really cool place off the beaten path and in the middle of nowhere. We stayed in the 2 bedroom cave dwelling and just happened to hit it the coldest day since they opened--about -3 with wind chill! They are still working out alot of the kinks, but overall, a lot of fun. Pros: 1. The add-on food package is a must! The food is incredible, recipes easy to make, and ample portions. The food is vaccuum sealed and you can edit ingredients you use. 2. The cave is really designed well woth small kitchenette, big bathroom, and 2 separate bedrooms with windows to capture sunsets. TV with streaming for late night movie nights. 3. The hot tub under milky way stars is plenty hot and the barrel sauna is warm! The art/meditation room you can read, paint, play music. Too cold in wjnter to hang out long. Even with space heaters it was chilly! 4. The sandcruisers (like a slow golf cart) were fun to go out on and are always charged and ready The Cons: 1. Our room water froze the first night and our heater in one bedroom wouldn't stay on. The condensation from sky light dripped alot of water in room. Probably due to how unexpectedly cold it was. 2. Even though we loved hot tub, there were 7 other tubs in spa not working or in disrepair. We even thought the working hot tub was broken given the condition of the cover. Thankfully, an employee heated it ip and told us we could use it. It would be super cool in the summer if everything was working and filled with water. 3. For us, the kitchen/mocktail area wasn't fully working given the water lines were frozen. All in all, I hope to go back someday, but likely in warmer months and after they have worked out a few of the details--like tables so you can use the art supplies, or a few more kitchen helps like dishtowels. Communication was great, and i could see the potential of this place. If you go, its a place to disconnect, read, meditate, explore, and slow the pace. Hot tub was frozen, the sauna only got to 147 after hours of work (on our part), there was a mouse in our room (poop on the floor and ate through our food), carbon monoxide alarm went off continuously, water pipes froze. We had an AMAZING time at Outpost X. We stayed in Dome 3 and bought one food package. It was plenty for three meals for two people. Everything was so easy to cook and very delicious. Exploring the property via the sand cruisers was by far our favorite part. We also hung out in the game room each day (we stayed 3 days/2 nights). Saw some antelope both nights and the beautiful display of stars. It was close enough for us to drive to Zion for the morning/afternoon to hike Angels Landing. I can't wait to see what Travis adds next to the property. It's still a work in progress, but definitely worth a visit now. read more

I was extremely disappointed with my stay on Thursday, March 20th. After seeing highly polished promotional materials, glowing Facebook ads, and the promises listed on the website, I was incredibly excited to experience what was described as a "cinematic off-grid sanctuary." Unfortunately, my experience fell far below even basic expectations of comfort and safety--let alone the luxury and relaxation advertised. My friend and I planned our entire trip out west around spending our final night at Outpost X. We looked forward to a rejuvenating experience that included a Zen Dome stay, spa amenities, and immersive desert exploration. What we encountered instead was a frustrating, uncomfortable, and frankly, unsafe experience that completely misrepresented the brand.We knew there would be no on-site staff to greet us or help with check-in; however, we never received any emails about which Zen Dome we were to stay in, and the portal with information did not clarify this either.  Therefore, we were left to fumble around in the dark, trying to determine which of the four domes was ours. Once we found our unit (Dome 4 through process of elimination/the others had people in them), we were hit with the unpleasant odor of mold and old cooking grease.  The space looked like someone had already been using the unit since dish towels were thrown across the counter top. Inside, no key had been left to lock the door despite the email and instructions in the portal saying there would be a key, so we were left in a space we could not lock to feel safe. We soon discovered that the mini-split heating system was broken. We attempted to use the propane heater, only to be overwhelmed by a strong smell of gas--raising serious concerns about carbon monoxide risk. We called the phone number listed in the binder to call in case of gas or water leaks, but no one answered, and the number never went to a voicemail either.  Ultimately, we had to rely solely on heated blankets to keep from freezing through the night, which left us waking up to icy plexiglass and freezing air inside the dome. We had been looking forward to sleeping under the stars, but the guests staying in the dome next to us had bright blue LED rope lights hung around their dome which caused glares inside of our dome that left us unable to view the stars.  The only way to block the bright lights were to pull the curtains "closed" which kept us from enjoying the night sky.  The curtains were also falling down and broken in several spots which kept them from working correctly, and ultimately kept us up all night because of bright lights in our faces.  Likewise, we were unable to watch the sunrise from bed due to the amount of ice on the inside plexiglass of our dome due to no heat system all night. The amenities you list so prominently online were either in complete disrepair or nonexistent: The X-spa was a collection of empty, dirty plastic tubs, non-functional hot tubs, a muddy patch of earth (perhaps the "mud bath"?), and a cold plunge that appeared to be a rainwater-filled container with a tarp haphazardly thrown on top. The Zen Den, while conceptually interesting, was dusty, dirty, and clearly unmaintained. A simple puff from a floor cushion triggered a near asthma attack due to the sheer volume of dust, and there were food crumbs all over the carpets and cushions.  The game room was in complete disarray. Costumes were dingy and carelessly strewn, and the lightsaber on display was broken.The Cantina had nearly empty, crusted-over syrup bottles, and a foul odor from the nearby septic system made it impossible to enjoy. The pottery making area, promised as one of the many unique experiences, simply did not exist. The only functional and enjoyable feature was the sand cruisers, which allowed us to explore the property. However, many of the structures we found were confusing and underwhelming--random wooden planks, a lone workout bench in the desert, and a few photo-op setups with no practical use.  Only a couple of the sand cruisers were charged or working, and children on the site monopolized these vehicles. When we mentioned our concerns about the heating and gas smell to the only staff member we saw (Robert), he acknowledged the broken heater without concern and casually shared that he himself had once slept there in 17-degree weather. His lack of urgency or responsibility regarding a potential gas leak was both baffling and concerning, especially since he shared that he know the mini-split was broken. To say that our experience at Outpost X was a letdown would be a gross understatement. We paid $320 for a night at a facility that felt abandoned, unsafe, and unclean--far removed from the immersive wellness experience the company claims to offer. read more

Twice a year, my wife & I leave the kids with the grandparents & take a 1:1 trip to reconnect. In October 2024, this trip was to Zion Nat'l Park. We booked two nights in a Zen Dome at Outpost X and IT WAS INCREDIBLE. Our stay coincided with the new moon phase, and with less than 1% light pollution in remote Utah, the Milky Way galaxy shone brightly. We loved staying here and look forward to the opportunity to visit again! *Of note, it was over 2 hours from OutpostX to Zion's Visitor Center, so plan accordingly. However, we found a beautiful "hidden-gem" hike less than an hour away - Kanarra Falls in Kanarraville. read more

My daughter and I stayed for several days in March (2024). It was about the second week they were taking guests. The weather was intense; it rained, hailed, snowed...the playa filled with water creating a massive mirror, the sun came out the next day drying up the playa. The speeders were so much fun....and NO we are NOT the ones guilty of damage or sticking them in the mud Sure, there were some minor issues but I don't recall the details. The common areas were not ready but we spent most of our days at Zion anyway. As far as Im concerned, the complaints I've read about the place...well it's all about perspective. I expected this to be a "glamping" experience NOT a "resort" experience...so the rough edges just adds to the experience. I am excited about alternative choices such as this. Keep up the great work!! The reviews of this place were because the company was having their SOFT OPENING, meaning not everything was up and running or completed. My husband and I went during the soft opening, and we had a great time. Sure, it wasn't completely done, but we understand that it was a soft opening for those reasons. We loved the dome huts and driving the cars around. We did the cold/hot plunge, the sauna, and had a very unique experience. The food, especially the steak, was fabulous!! excellent concept poor execution. TL;DR = not worth the trip or the money just yet. Maybe in a few years when they have the kinks worked out, have more staff and do a better job of keeping everything maintained and in working order it will improve. BAD Heater in Zen Dome 2 did not work and one of the panels was broken. this is bad because it gets so cold after the sun goes down. I had to fix it with a shoe lace so the wind didnt catch it and flop it around letting in cold and snow. Zen Dome is a great idea but really overpriced if they are not fully working. the mocktail station is lame and stocked with empty or half empty torani syrups and half cans of tonic water and sprite. the pottery corner is a sad toy with clay in a package from somewhere in Asia not the native clay that's advertised. No butane in the gas burners to cook with, we were lucky we found someone to ask since there's no real staff on site we just happened to find someone. Had we not and had we not brought enough food of our own, town with groceries etc. is 40 miles away. The commemorative Viking horns are WAY over priced, cheap toys that leaked within minutes of adding liquid. Costumes were basically brown bathrobes. Only one grounds keeper who seemed irritated by all the work. I would be too if I was one person tasked with so many things to do and fix. Three of the four speeders were not working on Friday (though in fairness all four were working on Saturday). Viking Tents are a far walk to the bathrooms, farther than it appears on the web site which sucks in the middle of the night. Food package - though delicious and good quality - is over priced and will be a huge disappointment if you cannot cook it because theres no butane in the burners; using the fire pit is possible but far more of a production than just cooking on the burner in the community kitchen. BOTTOM LINE = dont advertise amenities that are either not available or not maintained. I would not care nearly so much about some of these things if they had not been advertised as part of the attraction or as functional amenities. GOOD neat terrain. unbelievably beautiful stars and night sky. the speeders are fun (if they are working). nice fire pits for S'Mores and just hanging out. the beds are comfortable (our linens were clean) and the bathrooms are well appointed with running water and flushing toilets, much better than usual for camping. The spa area is much smaller than it looks on the web site but was very nice, for us the tubs and sauna were working. read more

I can't describe what OutpostX is without explaining what it isn't. In a corner of Utah, but otherworldly. There are rooms, but it's not a hotel. Meals created by a celebrity chef, but you cook your own food. Surrounded by mountains, but on a desert playa. Plenty to do, but serene enough to be a sabbatical. My stay was short but rejuvenating between the sauna, clay mud bath, and spa. Highly recommend the Kaan Lounge for relaxing with a book or gameplay. The Zen Dome provided a super comfy bed under the stars. But you can't stay with having the best fun in a sand cruiser drifting across the playa! read more

Expectations for this trip were high, and I was totally ecstatic with our stay. I wish I had booked a longer stay. My wife and I really enjoy the world of Star Wars, but not so much that we are going to Comic Con and the like--but we do like dabbling in role play events--murder mystery dinners, plays that have a themed dress code--masquerades, and such. Anyway, I decided to surprise her with this trip. I gave her vague hints as to what to expect by how she should pack and then had our eldest daughter do her hair up loosely like Princess Leia from A New Hope. I then presented her with the rest of her attire, a simple princess Leia get-up, and I dressed as Han. We loaded into our car and set off and I began to play the Outpost X podcast series that delves into the world and background that sets the stage for the resort's existence. The pod cast series was a great way to "get into to character" and reveal, in part, what I was getting my wife into. I reserved Cave 3, and just walking down the boardwalk to our cave was so fun. My wife was so excited. Entering the cave, her excitement just grew cave. Three has two bedrooms, one that shares a small kitchenette and access to the bathroom, with an adjoining patio that faces west for the sunset. The other bedroom is accessed through a small door that you have to duck to enter adding to the cave-like feel, it has a pet window facing West as well for sunset. And a nice little TV so you can catch up on your Star Wars episodes. The decor was so fun. The air conditioning was great. The kitchenette was perfect. The bathroom, with its cavelike shower was fabulous. The overall experience was very immersive and truly allowed you to escape into whatever scenario you wanted to invent with your significant other. We then explored the common area, with the Viking-like game room, and the observation deck that looks out over the playa. Further details that help engross your own, personal scenario. We then took some time to visit the spa area with its multiple hot tubs and huge barrel sauna. With a promise to return later that evening after dark. The speeders, retrofitted golf carts to look like Star Wars vehicles, are simple to check out. After checking one out, we drove out on three playa-- explored the workout area, an elevated platform over the Playa. And then took some fun pictures of my wife getting her Zen centered. After concluding our exploration of the Playa, which was so fun by itself, we went back to our cave and enjoyed a meal, that we had brought ourselves. Although I wish I had added the ready-prepared chef meals that were offered. We ate on our back patio and watched the sunset. While doing so, some beautiful, I'll be at skittish, antelope approached the watering holes. Not sure that's gonna be a part of everybody's experience, but with water being so scarce, I can't imagine that it won't be a pretty common occurrence. Mother nature did not disappoint, the sunset was amazing, with rays peeking above a distant mountain range, and big fluffy clouds to bounce light off of. Each of the patios are sheltered from the other caves, so you have your own, private environment while enjoying your patios. The planning of this was wonderful. Because the resort is so far away from any town, at night, the sky is so dark. It is worth scheduling time to wake up after the moon has set, just to see how bright the Milky Way is. We walked around and enjoyed the night sky, we even ventured over to the four-poster bed that is just sitting in the middle of the lake bed with intentions to lay down and watch the stars for a while. Such a wonderful night. Sleep was great, the beds are very comfortable-- definitely an upgrade over a Marriott. The next morning, we woke up, and we were treated to a beautiful sunrise. The location of this area is so unique that this is likely going to be common pretty year-round. We enjoyed a speeder drive, reading the signs that they have surrounding the facility explaining the fictional world we were living in. These were great touches and served to support the escape scenario we were enjoying. My biggest takeaway from staying at Outpost X was that we should've scheduled more time. At least two days if not, three or four. Just enjoying the resort is one to two days by itself, with comfortable, otherworldly lodging. And then another couple days to go and explore the national parks that are so close. We loved our time at Outpost X and we will be coming back again for sure. read more
