Used feminine products in the ice bin
    Amy M.

Don't trust your in room ice bin! Read through.... This hotel had the best reviews on both Yelp and Booking.com so I decided to book a night here on my way home from Colorado to California to break up my stay. I'm so glad I chose to book a stay in town, as the unexpected forecast of snow was coming down like crazy throughout my drive thru Utah. My check-in was easy breezy and the young gentleman was both efficient and friendly. The hotel itself seemed very clean and updated. But our room told a different story. The ice bin had obviously NOT been inspected by housekeeping staff, as someone, a prior female I'm guessing used it as a trash recycling facility for their used feminine products as if it were a trash bin. So unsanitary and so inappropriate for housekeeping staff to not check this! I'm was throughly disgusted and reported this to the check-in attendant. He had no ice bins to offer me. But upon asking if he had any plastic bags to offer, he gave me a few. He deserved the 3 stars. The hotel is quite noisy. My daughter and I initially fell asleep around 9pm with a sound machine may I tell you! Shortly after maybe around 10-11pm there were slamming doors and what sounded like hard feet running overhead. It finally subsided sometime around 11:30pm or after. Then next thing I know I hear slamming doors feet and water running by 6am. Ugh. The room wasn't the cleanest. They don't vacuum next to the beds, as my daughter found old stickers and a child's sock. There was also a cap from something like a coke or?? under the desk. I just pray our sheets and towels were clean! Lol. The free breakfast was decent. Monday is scrambled eggs with sausage, biscuits & gravy. They offer cereal, coffee, apple juice & OJ as well as bananas and muffins. While I didn't get to use the workout facility or check out the garden and fire pit due to the time of year, the my appeared to be clean or/ in good condition. Would I come back? Most likely not, as I don't see a need. But I do feel the price was appropriate considering the time of year. Housekeeping took my 4 star rating to a 2 but the young kind gentleman at check-in took my score back up to a 3.

The outdoor cabin vibe was great! Amazing location at about 9000 ft! Beautiful scenery! A good weekend getaway from the city. It's so peaceful and relaxing. We just wanted to chill in the patio by the fire pit. We like the location as it is close to a couple of restaurants for dinner plans and trails for morning jog. It's also about 5-minute drive to the ski resort. The hotel wasn't busy at the time, we stayed around 2nd week of April during the weekend. Bedroom: Beds and sheets were clean. Microwave, refrigerator and coffee maker are provided. The heating was great, only took about a minute for the room to get toasty! Bathroom: Most bathroom essentials are provided, including a blow dryer. Shower head can be turned easily and it didn't take a while for hot water to flow. Missing hand soap though. Clean bathroom. Breakfast: Continental breakfast was decent. Scrambled eggs were a bit runny. We were expecting pancakes lol, but that's ok, we liked the multiple bread and bagel selection. Service: All the staff were attentive. The host/concierge greeted us every time we passed by the lobby area. We didn't ask for housekeeping as we only stayed for 2 nights, but they were kind enough to hand us extra towels when ran into them in the hallway. The staff in the patio was also able to accommodate us when we needed fire in the fire pit. Only issue was we had difficulty getting a hold of the front desk at night via phone call around 10pm. Parking: Free. Will definitely stay here again if we were to take another trip to Brian Head!

    Live music

This is our second time here, and we love every bit of it. There's live singer-songwriter music in the evenings, a wonderful garden where you can eat and take anything you would like, gym, great breakfast, large chess, set, and wonderful people. I can't recommend this place enough.

I selected this particular motel for my recent overnight stay in Cedar City and thought it was quite nice. Be aware there is another Best Western directly across the street from this one which is not a "Plus". The rooms are a little cheaper, but I think you will enjoy the experience here a little more and it's only a few extra dollars. Everything was neat, clean and well maintained. I have no complaints.

The fire pit out back was a nice touch along with the garden they maintain during the summer.

This BW location is pretty cute and updated. The reason for the 2 star deduction is our room was an ice box the entire evening even though the thermostat read 90°, the heater only blew luke warm air. We were Disappointed the bbq grills were non functioning even though the employee said they worked and told us where to find the grill tools. I loved the big fire pit outback. This property does NOT accept pets;however my service dog was allowed on property. I would stay here again to give them another chance.

    Such a pretty place!

Stopped here on a road trip and so glad I chose this hotel! The staff was super friendly, check in was easy, my room was super clean and comfortable, and this place is so cute! Typically I have a hard time falling asleep at hotels but this bed was so comfortable, I slept great! It was quiet and the room had a microwave and mini fridge just all around a perfect place to stay. Can't wait to stay here again!

My daughter liked the little bunny. It's not much to some but I enjoy & notice the little things! It was appreciated Miriam (our room staff)

I was very impressed by how nice this Best Western was. The room was just what I was hoping for, standard but clean & nice. The scenery outside was awesome, it had a huge fire pit, big chess board for entertainment, garden area with lots of vegetables, beautiful weather & a pretty good breakfast. FREE breakfast consisted of scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, cereals, fruits, mini pancakes, yogurt, juice/milk, toast/bagel/english muffin & coffee area. Can't ask for more for FREE! Definitely convenient when you're on the road & don't want to eat out. This had the right amount of food for my little family. Thank you for our great stay Best Western Plus!!!

Great place to stay! Whether you are taking a vacation or dropping off the medium human at SUU. I would strongly recommend the Best Western Plus Cedar City. The rooms are ample clean and quiet and the air conditioning works great! The purpose for our stay was to help my niece settle in here at SUU. We are from So Cal so a little bit of a cultural shock. Everyone here is so nice and helpful. On our first night we had so much fun at their daily evening BBQ. It's set up in the courtyard area adjacent to a large living garden. It was great they let us pick out veggies to cook. It was a great assortment of squash, peppers, beats, egg plant, green beans, corn off the stock and more. They were also BBQ'ing fresh hamburgers and bratwurst. After dinner they had the perfect smores set up. Every morning they have a great breakfast set up. The breakfast consists of eggs, bacon, sausage, oatmeal, yogurt, burritos, waffle maker, fresh donuts and juice. This place is truly great and for the price you can't it it. I will definitely come back. Thank Steven for the great experience ! ****** Location to the school and student housing. ***** Service ***** Food.

A big plus about staying at this hotel is the breakfast they offer for free throughout your stay during the morning hours. I hit it up every morning, regardless if I was intending to have breakfast later that day. The breakfast includes biscuits & gravy, scrambled eggs, bacon strips, sausage links, make your own waffle machine, breakfast potatoes, cereals, oatmeal, and much more, not to mention coffee and teas. There's inside and outside seating available. The hotel offers an inside pool, it's a non-smoking facility, offers a laundry facility, and an exercise room. Parking lot had some construction on one side while we visited. Not a huge deal, jist went around the other side. It might be beneficial to have a separate area for RV parking, as having RVs parked directly behind passenger vehicles made maneuvering around them a little difficult. How heart-warming is that!? I immediately wanted to meet each of the pooches and have a cuddle-puddle in the lobby, but I refrained. The hotel itself is fine-the room was incredibly spacious with a double shower that's just begging for some group adult parties. I'm sure this setup is perfect for such shenanigans, but I can't confirm that since it was just me and the wife. But anyway, yeah, that's a balling shower. I also appreciate the higher quality shampoo, conditioner, soap and lotion. Dove is a step above the typical hotel stuff, for sure! Breakfast is rather nice-a full selection of hot items, cereal, fruit and an assortment of juices and coffee. Everything stayed stocked and neat thanks to the attentive breakfast staff. My one complaint about this hotel is the noise. We heard every conversation out in the hall-and I don't think anyone was speaking at unreasonably loud levels. The sounds of footsteps above us made me think that there were large animals running around-but I bet there were not. A little better insulation or other sound-reducing measures could really make a difference. Especially if you have a party in that shower.

We arrived at 2:45pm, check-in is listed at 3:00pm. As I approached the front desk, I was not greeted. No name tags on any employee. One women was on the computer and never looked up. The other women who was messing with keycard folders, finally acknowledged that her lobby was full. I said checking in, she nervously said they had no rooms cleaned and the other women stood up, very pissed off. Looked at her co-worker, as if we weren't standing there and said in a very nasty voice, "they will have to wait until 3 for check in. We have no clean rooms." To which I replied, "I have worked in the hotel industry, there is no way, there isn't a room available, 10 minutes before check in time. You aren't going to turn over 200 rooms in the next 10 minutes, have you not been cleaning them all morning?" She completely waived me off and said, "3:00pm is check in." So at 2:58pm magically they had a room for us to check into. There were pubic hairs all over the bathroom sink and the bath tub. Gross. I let the water take them down the drain. A bag of garbage sat at the top of the stairs for an entire day, not even closed up. Literally in the path of the stairs, fire hazard. My husband reminded the front desk that it was up there at 7pm still. She sighed and said she would get to it. There is NO hot water, no matter what time of day or night you shower. Luke warm at best. Day four and the stairs have not been vacuumed once, since being here. At breakfast, I was pushed to the side by a breakfast attendant twice, so she could grab her rags, as I was reaching for items. We needed a roll away bed for our last night here and requested the bed on day 2 of our stay and we were told that they don't reserve beds, they are first come, first serve. I was instructed to come down first thing in the morning the day I needed the bed. 730am I went down to the front desk to do so. While I waited my turn, I listened to another guest conplain about her stay and watched her show pictures of all the bugs in her room and the hotel tub. The front desk attendant said and I quote, "You didn't have to stay here, you could have checked out immediately and been given a full refund." The hotel guest then said, "There were no other rooms." To which she got a reply, "Look, I wasn't here last night, so I don't know what happened." And she kept looking down at her computer screen, while the customer continued to tell her about her experience. She couldnt even give her the respect of eye contact while speaking to her and acknowledging her frustrations. Basically taking no accountability for the company she works for. I step up to the desk to request my roll away to which I am told, "We have none that have been turned in, come back at 3pm, when it is check in." Seems like there are no processes in place to know when beds are turned in. My husband check again, upon our return from lunch and shopping and he was told they dont have any beds yet and check back later tonight. She put our room on a list of requested rooms that needed a rollaway. I grabbed my book and sat in the chairs on the second floor and waited for house keeping to be done cleaning the rooms. It was about 230pm. I asked him. "Hey, do you happen to have any rollaway beds in that storage closet? We have been waiting all day to have one delivered." He opened up the storage closet and sure enough there were two rollaway beds just sitting in there. Ridiculous that the front desk either doesnt know they are available or too lazy to check the closet. I guarantee they will never call us or bring a roll away to our room today. The 3pm shift arrived for work and I proceed to hear about how pissed off the front desk clerk was having to listen to everyone complain about the rooms. And the lady that showed up to work, asically agreed. The male bousekeeper who works on the second floor asked a housekeeping lead if she had checked out his rooms, so he could put his cart away and go home. She said, just go, no need. The male housekeeper was trying to follow protocal. I am disgusted by the attitude of every single person that works in this hotel, except for the male house keeper that works the 2nd floor. I am now sitting in the room itching everywhere; the thought of bugs in this place eww. I have personally not seen one in my room, but if there are bugs in one room, there are bugs in all the rooms. Eeek. I needed a new room key. As I had lost my key. The front desk made me new room keys, asked for my name, but never my photo ID to prove who I was. So basically anyone has access to your room, if they know your room number and your name. That is such a security/safety breach!!!! Never ever would that be acceptable at another hotel. I called and left a message for Corporate to call me back and not one word from them.

The breakfast area is charming and opens onto a patio, which would be a lovely place in warmer temperatures for a cool drink. The food is scrumptious and homemade, as befits a quality B&B. Our first breakfast: individual quiches (bacon, cheese, artichoke), cinnamon muffins, fresh fruit, and juices. Our second breakfast: banana bread pudding, sausages, fresh fruit, and juices. You will not leave hungry! The hosts even provide a happy hour at 5pm with wine and appys (we were served bacon wrapped brie-stuffed dates, chips and homemade salsa, crackers/cheeses/meat plate, and jalapeno olives). Despite this, the evenings were VERY quiet, ensuring a good night's sleep for all. Susan and CR said that they will be opening up a winery in the next couple of months, which will only add to the quality and decadence of this already fine establishment. We plan on visiting again for the Shakespeare festival later this summer and are looking forward to it!
