Went to this place to sell Pokémon cards. Had very rare cards in good shape. They offered me 25$ for all my cards when 1 of them was worth more than that. They claim they know about prices and sets and they really don't. The manager or owner whoever he is also likes to get involved when he wasn't part of the selling. Trying to tell me what I sold them and how much its worth when he doesn't know what was brought in. As far as I'm concerned your staff is dumb as a box of rocks and so are you. You probably still owe me about 300$. Hopefully you go out of business because that'll teach you to take advantage of people. read more

I love this place. I don't live in the area but try to stop in whenever I'm in the area. First off, the owners are incredibly friendly and passionate about their business. The place is well organized and clean--much better than it was under previous ownership. Secondly, the supply section is heaven. They have cool stuff (like shoe box cubbies) which I've never seen before. Third, they have a very good selection of new boxes and will negotiate price. If you're looking for singles or vintage cards, there are some but you'd be disappointed if you went for those. I collect and bought baseball cards (and supplies of course) but they have a good selection of other sports and non-sports and well as gaming stuff. Another excellent experience. If you want miniatures, games,paint, paint supplies or cards this is the place to go in Dutchess County and basically the local area. They are improving the gaming environment and have a staff that can answer your questions or will be willing to find an answer. They have a great eBay site but even better options in the store. read more

My son and I became interested in paintball playing. We went to Champion and spoke with "Steve" a well mannered and knowledgeable representative. My son and I spent several hundreds of dollars on equipment having purchased (2) two used markers and (1) one new marker, over time. We purchased (2) two air tanks, assorted clothing, masks, other miscellaneous equipment and endless cases of paint. I'm talking lots of "dineros". Our problems began when I purchased a brand new tank which leaked. I returned it to the store, they attempted to repair the same one and it leaked again while attempting to play out in the field. I brought it back again and all they did was attempt to fix it. It leaked again! Finally, on my third trip back for the same problem, the owner finally replaced it with a new one (this should have been done from the first reported failure). I was frustrated because this should not have happened. You know how annoying it is going to a paintball field (usually very far distances) and not have your equipment work? The equipment you just spend your hard earned cash on. Then you have to resort to rent or borrow other equipment to finish your day of fun? Add the cost and time of continually returning to the store in which you purchased new equipment and received excuses and poor customer service from the owner. My son purchased a Proto Rail used marker (which never worked properly from the start) with numerous trips back to the store for repair. "Oh, it's just the battery", they said on one occasion. All they offered were was a temporary fix. On another occasion, we had to return my son's brand new $160 tank which leaked and they just did a temporary "band aid" repair. The problem with Champion is the OWNER.... he looks like and quite frankly is a typical douche bag. Every time we went in with a problem they simply attempted to place a band aid on it. That's funny all the cash I gave him didn't have band aid's on it. We went in requesting that my son's marker be looked at one final time (after numerous failures and return trips to the store) and the douche bag owner charged me an $11 bench charge fee to see what was wrong with it. THE AUDACITY OF THIS GUY. Then he later told me I needed a new solenoid at $80 plus labor for a gun we purchased used at $150 (which never worked properly). Ok people let's do the math. I give you $150 for a gun that does not work. It gives me endless aggravation. I make several trips back to your store to attempt to fix it. You charge me extra money $11 to look at it and $90 to fix your failed product? The owner wanted to rob me of $101 more for a marker I paid $150 for? That was it! We did not get it repaired. We picked up our marker and traveled 1 1/2 hours away to take our business to New Breed Paintball in Nanuet, NY. There, we were treated like customers by the manager, Chris. We were not given any bullcrap from them like we were from Champion. My son ended up buying a brand new Planet Eclipse Etha at a great price. We gave our "several hundreds of dollars" to New Breed Paintball. The reason why CHAMPION PAINTBALL is getting this bad revue is because of their extremely poor customer service from the OWNER. The store is now under new ownership. Stephen is very very helpful and dependable. Every time I go, I am always greeted with a smile. I use to play paintball and purchased from here, now I traded everything in for airsoft gear. He gave me a more then reasonable price for my things. The store is mainly focused on trading cards, second air soft, and lastly paintball. Being said, the inventory is still pretty big. read more

The 1 star review is not truly indicative of the shop, however an indictment of the owner. I only have experience with the paintball side of the shop so I cannot speak for the rest of it. That being said, the owner will stop at nothing to upsell in any way he can, to the point of being deplorable. Having been in the sport of paintball for over a decade the way he treated myself, as well as others does not do the sport any good. read more
