So now that he goes I guess I'm really confused how there is 5 stars for this driving academy. 1st on parents night the fella ripped on the parents the whole time. Not knowing us he pretty much told the kids not to listen to us parents when it comes to driving because it's been so long since we've been in drivers Ed..: then he turns and tells the kids respect your parents driving as they are the ones that have kept you in one piece . One dad was turning red in the face . Then the guy mentioned how there are a bunch of cameras in the cars and kids bad attitudes won't be accepted and they will have video... ok what about your driving instructors bad attitudes? Lord! The instructor my son had the first 2 days was new, unprepared, confusing, late and boring. I did ask for a new teacher as the reviews reflected that this school was different than others and a little more fun...a new teacher was assigned....thank you. As for the driving teachers you have a couple dudes there that are complete old jerks and make the kids feel on egg shells. I reported Dennis as my son was like OMG that guys the biggest jerk. One driver teacher boasted about making good money and working OT doing this, but he was an ass and gave a kid a panic attack. I made sure my son didn't have either of these men again. Kids are nervous enough and these guys just yelled. Why do they do this for a living is it just about money? So before you threaten the kids about being good in the car look at these teachers and how they are. I'm still puzzled on how this is a top driving school. Oh well. He's not going back .

I used to think that my friends could teach me to drive, but I finally realized that I needed the wisdom of a professional and that's just what I got. Janita not only taught me how to drive well, she taught me how to pass the State of Michigan road skills test (two very different goals). She also helped me relax while I was driving by telling me a slew of truly bizarre stories. Trust me, great storytelling ability is an excellent quality in a driving instructor. I took 4 hours of lessons. I found the rates to be the best among all the local driving schools. It's $50 an hour for adults, or $95 when you purchase 2 hours at once (and you don't have to use the two hours at the same time). As far as I can tell, this business has no storefront. Their website is kinda lame, but it gave me the phone numbers I needed to get the ball rolling. The practice vehicle was in great condition and fine to drive; it comes complete with a passenger side emergency brake! 1 Stop Better does not offer road skills testing. Oh, the best part is that they will pick you up and drop you off wherever you want. I was able to turn my lesson into a ride from my Ann Arbor job to my Ypsi home - and I drove it! Being a regular bus commuter, that felt awfully good.

She has no patience and arguably doesn't fulfill the role of a driver instructor nicely. Her method of instructing is COMPLETELY different than Rick. She is very cut and dry, no sympathy, and does not take kindly to nervous drivers. Rick however, informs the driver clearly and kindly on what they are expected to do and he even adds a nice little "You got this! It'll be okay!" type of touch. Maybe her passive aggressive way of instructing works with some drivers... Who knows! I just know that Rick is a great instructor and I would recommend him gladly to anyone who asked!

Blanzy driving school is absolutely awful, please I recommend anyone to save their money. I came to take my road test today following the address they have posted on Google and it took me through a neighborhood to someone's house-which I think is where the owner of the school may love and accept over the phone booking at. However this is not where the actual testing site is!! This place is an absolute scam that they have running in a random parking lot behind businesses. They literally do not have an actual establishment besides the home in which I believe the receptionist or one of the head instructors is using. I know many people have complained and here I am to add to this especially to the instructor I spoke with today. I was so excited to take my road test finally and do it somewhere in my area but...Blanzy is not the way to go at all!! It is an older Arab lady who was extremely rude. I was late to my appointment because they have the wrong address posted and she proceeded to yell at my mother and I to reschedule even though we were simply trying to explain they have the wrong address posted for their Google profile. I didn't even take my test because she was already testing 2 drivers in the same car!!

The time spent behind-the-wheel as well as the closed course sessions were definitely very good with patient and good teachers and driving instructors. They taught her the rules of driving well. However, trying to schedule the Plus 10 hours portion of her contract has been tedious and quite unpleasant. The person who schedules these sessions at the Novi location has been offering times during the week when my sophomore is in school and it's difficult to find any availability immediately after school. At one point, I was even told to not call them and that they would contact me with availability as and when slots opened up. That's not what I would expect of a driving school that needs to have a better system in place for these private drives, especially when they're already paid for. Moreover, the majority of their clients are high schoolers who they clearly know can't book driving sessions during school hours. I truly hope they can modify their scheduling and get a system that's more conducive to helping high schoolers book their private lessons more easily.

Some were minor, and a couple were more serious, but overall I understand why points were deducted. In terms of the instructor's knowledge, I have no complaints. He was clearly very knowledgeable about the rules of the road, explained expectations well, and graded fairly based on my performance. However, my concern is with the overall experience and communication during the test process. On my first attempt, I made a serious mistake by turning left on a red light, which I understand is an automatic failure. I fully accept that outcome. What I found frustrating was that after this happened, we continued driving for another 10-15 minutes before returning to the testing site, without any clear communication that the test had already been failed. As a new driver paying between $70-$120 per test (in my case, $120 twice), I believe it would be more helpful and considerate to either clearly inform the driver that the test has ended or continue the full route so they can better understand what to expect on their next attempt. The lack of communication made the experience confusing and, at times, discouraging. I would also like to comment on the instructor's overall demeanor. While he was knowledgeable and fair in grading, his communication style came across as very blunt and lacked encouragement or basic rapport. There was little effort to create a comfortable or supportive environment before, during, or after the test. While I understand that strictness is part of the role, a more professional and respectful tone would make a significant difference, especially for new drivers who may already be nervous. Overall, the evaluation itself was fair, but the communication and delivery could be improved to create a more professional and supportive experience for new drivers.
