Well Sebastian came by and we agreed to price and service 3 weeks ago and pool was cleaner then it is now! 4 tech..... well 4 people came by and all help us get this green pool so I would not call them technicians! Lovely office staff also they just keep hanging up. So I would say stay away !! Unless your into no service and green pools. They also don't know how to set or program pool pumps. Or even work on salt water pools. read more

#1: They are NOT closed. That must have been a jealous competitor trying to harass them who reported that. They still clean my pool weekly and are available by phone (office and mobile). Review: Over the years we have had three different pool cleaning companies. We have a large salt-water pool, and it is hard to find a pool cleaning company that actually knows how to maintain a salt-water pool (though they all SAY they know, they don't). The first company was just way out of its league and had no idea how to maintain a salt water pool. They kept chlorine-shocking our pool for no clear reason. The second company eventually told us "I don't know why they let anyone build salt water pools anyways." That was after we discovered that during the national chlorine shortage they had been pretending to put chlorine in the pool during their weekly maintenance but for close to a month they were just pouring in regular water. Champion costs a lot more than those first two firms (double their rates, in fact), but they are worth every penny! Literally everything is taken care of -- mostly without us even noticing the issue as their weekly cleaning guys check everything. If you want reliable, experienced, skilled pool service (especially for a salt water pool), Champion is worth every penny! read more

Before the virus hit and tried to kill us all, I was doing pretty well on the Airbnb side of things with a property I own with a few business partners out in Santa Monica. One of our guests however had thrown a party that umm, let's just say the pool had seen better days. A buddy of mine hooked me up with these guys and they came through and did an excellent job. I didn't even know they had a yelp until our mutual buddy that put me in touch with these guys asked me how it went "assuming they screwed up since I never got back to him about it lolol", and I told him it was great. Champion is the absolute​​e WORST pool company we have ever used. They never respond to emails or voicemails about your pool concerns. It​ takes days to get the 'tech' guy out when there is a problem and that's only after the 2 or 3 days it takes to get hold of Esther or Sebastion. When the tech finally​ comes, it requires​ a second visit​ to fix the problem. The weekly pool guy does nothing more than drop in the chlorine​. Week after week I had to tell him not to leave​ our gate open. Our pool is brand new and he never noticed the pool was constantly​ filing and​ the ​float needed replacement​. He failed to notice​ a leak from the pump. Sebastion only responds if you say you don't want to pay for inadequate​ service. Look elsewhere​ for pool service​; they deserve no stars and no customers. read more

We chose Champion Pools because of the good reviews here on Yelp. Boy, how wrong we were to choose them. We had been using them to clean our pool. Our pool is new and we wanted a heater installed. We contacted them months ago and they said they could sort that out no problem. Months later - we were still waiting for our heater and for them to contact us. No contact whatsoever. To cut a long story short - we called them EIGHT times and they never returned our phone calls. When we finally got a hold of them - they told us they'd be with us the next day to install it. No show. A week later we called them AGAIN. They once more promised to come the next day to install it. No show for the second time. By this point we were at the end of our tether, so I called and spoke to a woman about it. She didn't seem to have any clue what I was talking about and said there was no record of us ordering a heater, let alone them coming to install it. She tried to blame it on the fact that the owner had left the company and they were really backed up on their services. I told them we wanted our money back for the heater we purchased and she again denied that we ever asked for one. So now I have to go through the hassle of contacting our credit card company to see if they charged us. They are the most incompetent company I have ever had the misfortune of dealing with. I strongly recommend you go somewhere else for your pool services. We are extremely annoyed and disappointed. We will take our business to another company who can actually deliver on what they promise. read more

It's hard to come by a pool company that provides excellent service and can complete any repairs or upgrades without calling in a 3rd party. I don't know about you, but I'm never a fan of having to go through multiple companies for any repairs/upgrades. Champion is on point and ensures their responsibility when signing with you. They maintain my pool weekly and make sure to let me know whenever a new part needs to be serviced or replaced so I have time to approve any jobs. read more

Sebastian, the owner, is unreliable and unprofessional. He rarely answers his phone or returns phone calls. When you do get a hold of him, he makes promises that he doesn't keep. He never informed me about damage to my equipment. Due to his negligence, I have to replace my pump and filter and my pool has still not been serviced. He also charges way more than other companies for pool repair. What a ripoff. Don't waste your money or time. read more

Gotta sign up with Champion! Just before a big birthday party, my pool's heater broke and it was still chilly so really needed to fix it. Unfortunately my last pool company couldn't fit us into their schedule in time for the party so I reached out to Champion Pool Care. Owner came the same day and gave me a solid price so I went ahead with the job. Heater was up and running before the party which was great. Where do I start with my thanks to Champion Pool Services. My parents' pool was in MAJOR need of service. Since they don't know English too well and cannot communicate what they want, I was the one who was dealing with pool service companies and let me tell you, it was one of the most frustrating processes ever! I went through pool companies so fast. I have dealt with pool technicians skipping our scheduled pool service, insane quotes and lazy technicians who wouldn't get the job done. I was soooo frustrated with the last pool service company we used and luckily my classmate referred me to Champion Pool Services. She said she has been using them for years and has never had a problem. As soon as I had a break, they were the first call I made and am so grateful to my friend who referred me to them. They gave me a free quote and it was surprisingly the best price I have gotten. They were SO helpful, kind and made sure to schedule an appointment for me right away. They are cost efficient, honest and super clean. Easily the BEST company I have hired so far and I don't use that term lightly. Champion is awesome! When my filter wasn't working all of a sudden Sebastian immediately responded and got a pool guy out there the next day. Lost a technician who was scheduled for our weekly maintenance and did not send anyone as a replacement. It took almost 3 weeks to find this out, in the meantime our pool turned swamp green and no one was ever sent out. Our management company had to find us someone else after a month of no service. TURNED OUR COMMUNITY POOL GREEN! Our HOA Board had a community pool that needed a new pool service. Our old pool guy only showed up every now and then. We did some research and hired Champion Pools after reading their great yelp reviews. The initial consult and first cleaning were great. After the first cleaning, the pool was the clearest I had ever seen it. After that initial cleaning, the pool started turning foggy. We heard a lot of excuses. "It was treated and needs 48 hours to stabilize" or "you need a new part to make this go away" etc etc. We paid for new parts and treatments costing in the $100's hoping these were just overdue fixes that needed to be made. Then after a few weeks in their care, the pool turned green. Swamp green (see picture). And it's still hot in LA at this point and nobody wants to swim in it. As an HOA member, we got a lot of complaints from homeowners. Even condo's that were on the market had to explain the green pool to potential buyers. It was embarrassing. Champion again said it was the treatment and blamed our NEW filters. On one instance, when the pool was green, I went to check on it after another "service" and there was a hand written sign on our pool gate that said "pool closed". I took photos and sent them to Champion, but they didn't think their guy did it, even though the opposite side of the paper was a champion pools log sheet. They had no right to close our pool without informing the HOA. Granted, nobody wanted to swim in it anyway...but there is a process. You tell the HOA, we then make a nicer sign, blast an email to homeowners, and get info on what was completed to make the pool closed. Unprofessional. We fired Champion after 2 months of service. It was only clear for maybe 14 days (not continuously) of those weeks of their service. It was green for over 3 weeks when we decided to fire them. We asked they return our garage door opener and keys to the address on file in order to receive their final payment. This was in October 2015. Since then, we have gotten several calls from them asking for payment. We communicate each time to give us our stuff back for payment and also to contact our Management Company moving forward. They continue to call and call, acting like everything is new news to them. Now it is March, and they still had no clue who our management company was and where to mail the keys. I understand you have new employees, but this has been going on since October. Figure it out CHAMPION! You should be happy we are willing to pay for service of the green swamp after everything you put us through. We hired a new pool guy and our pool is beautiful! It only took him 3 days to get it to swimming condition. read more

These guys are life savors! I am planning on selling my house and my real estate found buyers sooner than I thought. I found it endearing that the owner of the company, and a well known one, was willing to take time out of his schedule to help me with simple questions instead of transferring my call to one of his customer service reps, who are also really nice. I just purchased a home and throughout all of the construction we did, the pool turned into a huge mess. There were leaves all over the pool and it was starting to turn green. We were told by another pool company we contacted that we need to drain our pool and refill it. That was a huge job and a huge cost. Sebastian on the other hand came out my house the same day I contacted him and said he would be able to get me pool back to normal after 2 services without draining my pool.
