I had my basement waterproofed by Champion about 4 years ago. Haven't had any water in the basement since. This week a pump went bad. I called, the came and replaced it a day later in 10 minutes. No charge cause it was guaranteed. 100 percent recommend this company. Not only did the do a great job, they were the least costly and did everything I wanted. read more

The experience with Champion was very smooth from the initial meeting/quote all the way through the installation process. The price and explanation along the way was very thorough and very helpful. The people I interacted with were courteous and easy to engage with from a customer perspective. Howard (owner), John(office) and Brian (foreman) and the crew were professional and had a high attention to detail. I am very detail oriented and picky, and have high standards with regards to work done around the house. And the quality of work was an A+. I read some of these other reviews and some customers are unreasonable and will never be satisfied. Especially people that don't understand the power of water. You are doing waterproofing for mitigation but even then it may not be perfect as time passes and water finds new weaknesses. I agree with JB. If the work had been done correctly the first time, or even the second time, this would be a whole different type of review. However, the first pump they installed did not work because the float was too close to the wall of the pump. They also left one problem area unfinished, and my basement still leaks after heavy rains. It took several calls to finally get someone here to look at the problem. They replaced the pump, so that works fine now. However, it took more calls for someone to come out for the problem with the floor crack (which was on the initial order). Six month later, the laborer put the blame on 'sewage' lines, and treated me as if I did not understand...very condescending. This is not a sewage line problem and I know it. And, Champion certainly did not honor their guarantee. read more

4 weeks later after having work done I'm still given the run around about them fixing the water run off issue from my gutters they did. They made it out of code been giving me the run around on having people come back to fix it. Fix it right! I had to go as far as writing the better business bureau and attorney general office in order for them to correct the issue with the water run off. As well as speak to the owner of his office manager John's attitude to how he speaks on the phone. Elvira has a better business manner and is respectful to the customers. John is plain rude and arrogant. Here we go again with the rude office manager John so I called today 3/3/20 of a smell coming from my French drains that keeps getting worse. This is about a possibility of them cracking my sewage line when installing my French drains from the jack hammers. Once again I had to deal with John the rude office manager and was hung up on twice without a hello nothing. John the office manager whom I had issues with in the past. I asked whom I was speaking to and it was him he was on a conference call with me and my husband and said he shouldn't speak to me with respect because of the bad reviews I left on here. They stand behind their warranty and that means alot. Howard, the owner is a very nice man and very approachable. I spoke to him personally about a few problems and they were fixed. I have 2 sump pumps from Champion one in 07 and one in 14. The one in 07 just broke and took 10 minutes to fix and covered under warranty. Great company read more

Bit of a mixed experience here. When the salesman came to assess our job, we were happy with the waterproofing plan and the price. There was a lot of talk about how they are a small company with a lot of integrity and great reviews. Then we had some considerable trouble. When they started the job, they sent a demolition crew who didn't even have a work order and didn't know what they were doing. They tore out an 8' section of the wrong wall, and left the correct wall untouched. After they came back and fixed their huge mess up, they installed the sump pump. They placed it in the wrong spot, so that when the drywall was replaced it covers part of it. It can't be accessed to fix or replace parts. Which is a big deal because because the power went out and the room flooded. We had just had the carpet relaid. This was because a battery backup was not installed. When came out to install the battery backup, they had to of course break the molding, because of the pump being put in the wrong spot. Then the room flooded again, from the wall they tore up to put in an outlet for the pump but never suggested waterproofing. We originally told them where we suspected it was leaking from, but apparently it was leaking from another place also. How would we know that? I wish they had used their professional knowledge to assess the whole room, and not completely tear up a room but neglect to waterproof one side of it. In the end, the owner came out to meet with us onsite, and was reasonable and friendly. We came to an agreement and they fixed the situation by waterproofing all walls. They did not charge us for this additional work. I would recommend this company because it seems their work is good and in the end they made things right. They seem like good people and we may have just had a unique experience. If using this company, I would advise triple-checking every detail with them about what you will be getting and making sure that any workers coming into your home have precise instructions. read more

Very poor service. We had a sump pump replaced and had 4 cracks in the foundation tied directly into the french drain. The crack repairs were done well and correctly, however the sump pump has been a nightmare from the minute it was replaed. When it was installed it was set lower than the existing pump and lower than the natural water table for our area. The owner's exact words were "well, we've only had to ever raise 1 sump pump in all our years of business". I'm not sure if he is just an owner or if he actually knows about water proofing or not. They are also the slowest company to respond to calls. The only good things about this company was Mike, who bid the work, and who actually returns calls. DO NOT RECOMMEND BASED SOLEY ON THE OWNERS LACK OF CONCERN FOR THE CUSTOMER AND THE WAY HE RUNS HIS BUSINESS!!!!!!! I should have read the previous reviews, it appears that it is a common theme for the owner to pass blame and stop returning calls! read more

I had Champion Waterproofing do my house July 2017 and I THOUGHT they were great. The previous owners had a system in place, but it turns out they were ripped off. So, I had Champion come in a redo the work and put in a brand new pump. The crew was very polite and walked me through the process - I will give them that. However, whatever was done or something is broke, the flow of the water has changed and my basement is wet like never before. My brand new carpet is ruined. I have been calling Champion for MONTHS! ... I started calling back in March. It is now going on July and I have not even been able to get them to come to my house to assess the issue. They keep giving me the runaround and telling me that the foreman who completed the job last year, needs to come out. Fine. But, at the end of the day - I did not write a check to the foreman, I wrote a check to Champion Waterproofing. Now they were quick to come out and take my money, but honoring their LIFETIME warranty is a joke. I feel awful, because I have recommended them to other people. I know they have other professionals who can come out to at least "look" at what needs to be fixed. I am so disappointed and stressed. I will NOT and do NOT recommend them to waterproof your house. read more

The original salesman got to our appointment on time, but this didn't happen on the day when an interior French drain was installed by a two man crew. They came later than the time I was told by the company's office representative. I get the impression there is a disconnect between office and crews. Brian, the foreman of our crew was not the most friendly guy. He was disturbed when I requested he find a way to flatten the edges of each sheet of polyseal plastic membrane liner so that it lay flat against my basement concrete block wall. He did agree to put additional fasteners along the edges of the membrane, but many gaps were still very noticeable afterwards. I explained to him the importance of having a nice finished appearance when the time came for me to sell my house, but he rattled on about buyers having the right to move on and find another house if they didn't like what they saw - totally inappropriate attitude for a professional service provider. He said he never did corner molding to cover outer edges of perpendicular walls where gaps along the edge of the membrane were noticeably unfinished looking. He mentioned I should do it myself or hire someone to apply the corner moldings. I called the main office and requested the needed changes and was told that all I had to do was tell Brian to do it and he'd take care of it. Guess again..... read more
