20 ft retractable awning over the deck
    Bob W.

They promptly responded to our initial inquiry. We greatly appreciated the open and transparent way they discussed with us what to include and what to avoid. They took plenty of time with us and their was no pressure salesmanship. The workman who came and installed the awning were wonderful. Excellent professional work--friendly---answered our questions. Because of their wisdom we actually saved money by not buying options that were not necessary. The price for a 20 foot awning was $2830 installed

Excellent work and look - Awnings by Paul!

A great job done by Paul and his crew at my house. I needed to have my old cloth awnings replaced - a total of 7 pieces of varying sizes. The estimate was done quickly and was quite reasonably priced! I placed my order and was contacted by his sewing staff during the process so that everything would be right. The installation crew was friendly and efficient. The look - perfect! Terrific quality (I got the top quality cloth available...very much worth it and hardly much more!). This is the place to go for your awning needs! Excellent!!!

We have been wanting full house window blinds for so long and did our research on all of the local Companies. We chose budget blinds after seeing their reviews and options online. We were able to schedule a free in-home visit for an estimate within a week of our phone call, March 17th. Jake arrived promptly on the day of our scheduled visit and measured the ten (10) windows we have. He presented many options and samples, suggesting a color that matched perfectly. Our Home is all hardwood floors with white walls, so we went with his suggestion of "Chestnut" horizontal blinds for all rooms except our kitchen. There, our LVT flooring is a brighter color, so we chose "Mist" to keep with a cleaner look. Our estimate was prepared for us during the visit, and we accepted immediately because the price was well within our planned budget. Customer Service called 3 weeks later to say that our blinds were in, and the install date was scheduled for May 1st. Our installer, Germaine, was personable and arrived right on the scheduled time. The install was fast and the job was completed in about two hours. He offered up some ideas on curtains, valances but the blinds look so good that we will probably keep an open look and forego any curtains. We are very pleased with the whole process and would recommend Budget Blinds for your Window Treatment needs.

If you are in the process of choosing a company for your home or business, look no further! I was…read morehesitant to call Budget Blinds because I did not think a company with that name would offer high end products. I was totally incorrect in that assumption! Jake Hannahs, from this office, is nothing short of exceptional at his work and their selection is the same as custom blind companies that I met with. For the past two years I have taken meetings with several blinds companies who were all nice and professional however none of them had the knowledge and wherewithal to properly handle my window treatment needs. I live in a historic home in Shady side with many odd features and I have a very limited schedule as to when I can take meetings in Pittsburgh. Jake and his team have consistently accommodated my scheduling needs and exceeded my expectations. They took the time to figure out how to put a premium product in my unusual windows within an acceptable price range. They operate like a bespoke, boutique company but offer the huge variety and competitive pricing of a large volume company. If you need blinds, do yourself a favor and just call them! You will not be disappointed. Thank you Budget Blinds of Downtown Pittsburgh. YAY!

    Nest Expressions

I wanted to replace the 15 year old blinds that were in the house I moved into from VA. I thought…read morethat shutters would be the best option, but was willing to explore other options. I had three companies visit my house, including Nest Expressions. In addition to regular squared windows, my house also has a semi-circle window that wasn't covered & I was interested in seeing options for that as well. The owner visited & brought along all his window coverings. There were some fancy blinds that could darken a room or filter some light in (honeycomb shades, I think). After assessing the options, we decided to stay with the plantation shutters & decided to work with Nest expressions, over the other companies. They sell Hunter-Douglas brand products; though I don't know a whole lot about these type of products, that is a brand I have heard of. A lesser selling point to me, was that their products are USA made, which naturally I'm willing to buy if all else being equal. We liked the fact that we could get faux (fake) wood shutters in several shades. One of the other companies had only faux wood in white, which we didn't want. The owner measured each of my windows exactly, even though they're all pretty much the same, except for the bay window in the front of the house + the half-circle window. We were also presented a few options on the design of the large shutter how we wanted it opened & hinged I didn't agree to a contract at that point as I was still awaiting an estimate from one of the other vendors. But while waiting, we pretty much decided to use Nest Expressions. They weren't the cheapest option, but the owner worked with us to get the best deal possible. I was confident these would be of top quality. We also worked a bit on the sales tax, as I had a notion that they should be tax-free since they become fully attached, and thus, a part of the house itself. The owner also consulted his CPA & it turned out that it was somewhere in the middle as I recall. The time to have them (custom) made in the factory was about a month. They called me in advance to set a time & date. Everything went well. The installer was very professional & did the work quickly & cleaned-up afterward. I've not experienced any problems since the installation over a year ago.

After reaching out to several other window companies, we knew that once Jim from Windows Pittsburgh stopped by to provide us with a quote, his company was the one that we wanted to to go with. From the moment Jim, the owner of Windows Pittsburgh, stopped by he was completely professional and made sure to keep our consultation around an hour, which we appreciated. We went back and forth for weeks about grids and colors, and Jim was extremely patient and didn't pressure us at all during this time. For anyone who has shopped for windows, you would understand how "sales-pitchy" these consultations can be. Jim did not make us feel pressured or rushed in to a decision what so ever. He was just a good, local guy, who was thankful to do business with us. Windows Pittsburgh is locally owned, and operated. I liked this because I knew that we were giving back to our community vs. giving in to the larger window companies. After our initial consultation we did have one person come to get exact measurements, and then our actual instillation was approx. 4 months after our order. The installation was scheduled for three days, but it only took the installers two days total. I can not speak highly enough about the installation process because they really took their time to do things right, and cleaned up (very well) as they moved throughout the house. Drop cloths were used on the floors, and they swept and cleaned up after each window. I didn't worry at any time about broken glass, nails, etc. They did a fantastic job, and even wiped and cleaned the new windows (they will never be this clean again!) When I met with Jim initially, I told him that I heard of Windows Pittsburgh from Yelp. He seemed surprised by this, because he doesn't use Yelp for advertising anymore. As you know, this company isn't as heavily broadcasted in the Pittsburgh area. I'm hoping that our review gets noticed, and that anyone looking for new windows or exterior doors in the Pittsburgh area will consider using Windows Pittsburgh, they will really do a great job and you will be happy with the results!
