Unfortunately, the basketball courts are consistently treated as repurposable "shared space" for camps, birthday parties, and other non-basketball programming, while other dedicated areas like pickleball, yoga, and cycle studios maintain far more protected use. Ruthie Cooper, Lead General Manager, also stated that as of May 22, the courts will be reserved for Summer Camp from 7am to 6pm daily, plus a 15-minute grace period, further limiting member access. The courts themselves are often poorly maintained and not cleaned to the standard expected from a premium club. Many long-time basketball members have voiced concerns, but access continues to shrink despite strong and consistent participation. While local staff have been professional in communication, the overall handling of basketball member needs has been disappointing and does not reflect the experience many of us believed we were paying for.

They know how to put their patrons first at those other places. IF he actually was taught to put members first, he would've let me finish the extra three minutes it would have taken me to complete my sets... never going back here. Or they could've put a sign to not use machine, like all other gyms in the world do. I have been a personal trainer all my life and never have I witnessed anything like what happened to me here today. If you're serious about your workouts and your time in the gym, don't bother with this incompetent staff that doesn't know how to put paying members first. What I experienced today is like eating at a restaurant and while you're in the middle of taking a bite of your half eaten burger, the waiter comes to your table and grabs your plate with your fries from underneath you. Who does that? LOL. But that is not the worst of it.. after the manager talks to me, the rude employee that kicked me off my machine (older man) comes over to where I am and rolls his eyes and tells me "get over it"!!! After researching Yelp for a new gym, I took advantage of the "free workout" (read: sales pitch) and ultimately decided to agree to a 25 session package after some haggling. Unfortunately, NexGen just didn't live up to my expectations for multiple reasons: 1. The service marketed to prospective clients is not delivered once the sale is closed. The training plan is not personalized, not shared with the client and often delivered by trainers that are not familiar with the client and their goals. Further, the initial baseline assessment, sold as part of the package, is billed as a training session. By agreeing to the training package, you should expect a trainer (often the same trainer, but not always) to push you through a general workout which is not designed for your needs and goals. 2. The trainers operate as though they are on a shot clock rather than focusing on truly coaching their clients. I don't think that this is on the trainers since I got the feeling that there is more focus on cranking out sessions, turning clients, and ending on time (early) to ensure the next session isn't impacted. For a discount trainer, I would say that this is fine, however NexGen is charging a minimum of $75/hr, a price that should command elite service and attention. 3. Questionable sales tactics and marketing. This is really what moved me to write this review. I went back and forth a few times, because the trainers are good here, and the service offering may work for some people. That said, I think it's important to point out that it's not a coincidence that NexGen has all 5 start reviews. They offer free sessions for reviews 5 star reviews!! One session for Yelp and an additional session for Google and Facebook. As someone who relies on the objectivity and quality of these reviews and ratings, I am appalled by this offer and the amount of people (with very few reviews) who have fallen for the tactic. Beyond the review issue, I just don't believe the value proposition is there for NexGen. If I had to summarize this training facility, I would do so by highlighting that it operates using a franchise, plug-and-play business model. I believe this approach conflicts with providing high-quality services, such as personal training. I think the trainers are talented and capable. However, the services and price point are misaligned. My advice: Look around and if you decide to give NexGen a try, don't be afraid to negotiate a bit before you sign (# of sessions and price/session).

As for the remainder of the gym, it was very open, airy, clean (amazing for a 24) and not too busy. I did not get ready there so I cannot comment on the condition of the locker rooms nor showers, but it appears this one might have recently been "refreshed" as 24 Hour Fitness seems to be doing these days with their clubs. There's lounging chairs that go pretty quickly as well as the tubes for the lazy river. The lifeguards are very nice very well trained, constantly looking, constantly watching everyone to make sure no one is in distress. And yes, there are a lot of lifeguards which is really great considering how many people are there. There are rules to to the aquatic center too many for me to mention here, but if you want to check it out, go to their website. When I checked on the website, for the past couple days, it said it was closed, but the best thing to do is call to make sure it is open. Even the day I went the website online said it was closed. Before you reach the aquatic center you wind your way through the park that is very beautiful and very clean.
