I joined Life Time expecting a premium fitness experience, including dependable access to the basketball gym during peak evening hours. Unfortunately, the basketball courts are consistently treated as repurposable "shared space" for camps, birthday parties, and other non-basketball programming, while other dedicated areas like pickleball, yoga, and cycle studios maintain far more protected use. Ruthie Cooper, Lead General Manager, also stated that as of May 22, the courts will be reserved for Summer Camp from 7am to 6pm daily, plus a 15-minute grace period, further limiting member access. The courts themselves are often poorly maintained and not cleaned to the standard expected from a premium club. Many long-time basketball members have voiced concerns, but access continues to shrink despite strong and consistent participation. While local staff have been professional in communication, the overall handling of basketball member needs has been disappointing and does not reflect the experience many of us believed we were paying for. read more

This is one of the worst work out experiences I have ever participated in. For the amount of money you are charged for a membership so many things were wrong. Dumbbells are just thrown about not in order on the rack. Also random cable attachments all over the gym floor. All of the equipment is dated. The people who work here are friendly and helpful, there's a variety of both cardio and weight equipment, and the locker rooms are ALWAYS clean and well-maintained. For starters, they could pump some sort of aroma therapy or fragrance in here like the hotels do. It reeks of vomit and feet!? They also could refill the disinfectant wipes everywhere! The machines aren't able to be wiped down because they haven't refilled the wipe dispensers in over a week!!! Hot tub is moldy around the outsides. Oh yea the water fountains filter light is on RED..... someone said the light is broken but that the filter is good.... I don't trust it. Wow!! This is the nicest gym I have been to in a long time. My son belongs and so while visiting he took us as his guest. The staff was very nice. The trainers would ask if you needed anything when they saw us looking for items. One helped my wife with finding some small weights that I could not find at all. If I lived in DFW area I would definitely belong. Tons of cardio, machines and free weight areas. We came on a Friday afternoon and stayed till the evening. I've been here just under a month now and there are some pros and cons to weigh on whether this gym is right for you. It's is very well suited for people with families and looking to do light to moderate work outs. Pros: Very clean and well stocked facility. For those complaining that it's dirty; I implore you to check out one of the more "serious" bodybuilding/ powerlifting gyms in the area where you're lucky if they have any sani wipes and the floors get mopped once a week! Amenities- You've got clean towels, beautiful and spacious locker rooms, steam rooms, saunas, a café indoors and outdoors, indoor pool and outdoor pool, basketball & pickle ball courts, a daycare center, private studio areas for yoga, Pilates , stretching, etc. They even have a full service spa. I have yet to find another gym chain that offers the level of amenities that any lifetime offers- and this is precisely what you pay more $ for! There's a large variety of cardio equipment, an awesome calisthenics and CrossFit selection, plus weights and machines. Plus if you're in to cycling, Pilates or something like yoga...you've got an opportunity to learn or attend classes. It is totally a one-stop shop for the average, every day people and/or families looking to lead a healthier lifestyle. They are also open a little later than some other gyms 6 - midnight Cons: First and foremost for me is....well the equipment is subpar. Everything here is Cybex, life fitness, and a few hammer strength machines. There's one hack squat and another squat machine. Half the power racks are usually taken up by the classes they offer. You won't find all of the awesome equipment like Arsenal, Rogue, EliteFTS, Atlantis or anything outside of the basics. My husband, who has a powerlifting background quit less than a month in to go to another more serious gym because he could hardly get a decent workout in and was underwhelmed by the lack of variety & quality equipment. The café is EXPENSIVE- $10 a shake....$3 for a single johnny pop! The flavors weren't great in the few we ordered. We're kinda supp junkies. We've got all the high-quality brands of collagen, whey & vegan protein, intra-workout etc. and the macros are seriously lacking especially at what you pay vs. just making a shake at home! I'd bring snacks from home or eat beforehand. Food is not restaurant quality and that's exactly the price you'll pay. There's tons of young teens posing and playing around, tying up equipment for 20+ minutes... it just is what it is. The pools don't offer much unless you're looking to swim laps. It's $50 a person to have outside pool access. There's a zero depth entry with a "mushroom" fountain and 2 slides both indoors and outdoors, but 1. unless a child can swim alone even at 42" they can't use the slides. My 3 & 5 year old are bored within an hour of coming every.single.time! Then they cry they can't go on any of the slides. I've heard other parents upset about this as well. Meanwhile the local waterparks are half the price with full on in-water playgrounds and have their own little "pool" at the bottom of the slides so smaller children can use it alone. We regret dropping the extra $ on the outdoor pool for sure. I'd skip it with kids. All in all we keep the membership for the fam and it's nice to bring the kids along and get some other work accomplished of chill in a hot-tub so I don't lose it after dealing with them at home all day, but if you're looking to get jacked or are someone seriously in to lifting, or looking to compete; I'd skip it- you won't have a well-rounded look messing with LT and their equipment or sitting for 20 minutes to use a rack. Others nearby are a yearly membership for what you'd spend in a few months here, but you will get a huge downgrade in amenities. I'm a member of the Oklahoma City lifetime but my in laws live in colleyville so i decided to venture here one day while visiting. While this location is about 14 years older than ours at home and smaller it still has the same great lifetime feel. The employees are all super helpful and everywhere if you have any questions. The ladies locker area didn't have a hot tub like they have at home but they do have a sauna and a lounge area with couches and TVs. The one visit i made here i saw two different people cleaning the ladies locker room tackling dirty towels and stocking the razors etc. At home we have codes with our lockers here there are keys and no shower doors just curtains. It's those little things that are nice and i suppose we take for granted. The workout floor was booming busy when i went! The machines were all older but still did their job just fine. Their dumbbell selection was by far more limited here. I didn't really see any employee up here usually we have someone at our desk answering questions cleaning machines etc. I also visited the cafe to get my favorite avacado toast "avo Catalina" i was the second one here and it took almost 20 minutes to get one slice of toast. That's a little extreme in my opinion. I also noticed they didn't have fruit infused water dispensers here at home I'm glued to ours! Overall while everything is nice it is dated and for the price you pay here it's those little things that really make it worth it that in some areas they lack. read more

We've only been members of this gym for a month now, but so far we all love it! The outdoor pool is fabulous. We love the beach entry and the fact that the entire (massive) pool is 4ft depth or less. There are about a thousand lounge chairs surrounding the pool, which I imagine would be really lovely to lay in if I didn't have 5 kids to keep my eye on. There are multiple lifeguards on duty during family swim hours. I even like the music they play on the outdoor speakers. Monthly guest passes offer members the opportunity to bring friends to the pool (and/or gym) periodically. The child care center is great. The workers are young and enthusiastic. It took no time at all for them to learn my kids' names and they seem genuinely happy to see us when we walk in. My kids always have a great time, although they wish that the indoor playground would open (WHEN WILL IT OPEN?!). They love the basketball court most of all. The locker rooms are clean. The water pressure in the showers is excellent. Towel service is WONDERFUL and such a burden lifted when it comes to pool use and showering. There are a billion cardio machines... Almost as many cardio machines as there are hand sanitizer stations. Ha! I don't lift weights but my husband seems pleased with that area. The cafe is a huge benefit. Some days I'm too fat, pregnant, and lazy to work out so I drop the kids off and sit down to enjoy a cup of coffee in the peace and quiet. My husband and I have had a couple Saturday morning dates there after exercising as well. With 5 little kids at home, our opportunities to hire a babysitter are few and far between, so we really cherish these little coffee dates. If only they sold beer and wine, we'd drop our kids at child care on a weeknight and enjoy a little happy hour! As far as I can tell, 100% of the staff is friendly and the members ain't bad either. In response to some of the previous reviews, I personally think the management does a good job of balancing the enforcement of mask requirements with the fact that most of their members don't give a crap about wearing masks. From what I can see, the vast majority of members wear them as instructed, but the fact is that most people who are truly worried about contracting COVID aren't at the gym right now. A few areas for improvement, in no particular order: 1. Child care hours: child care is only open in the mornings and mon-thurs in the evenings. Wish there were afternoon hours. 2. Class schedule: I find the app very cumbersome in terms of looking up class schedules. Wish there was a simple print out that I could take home with the weekly class schedule on it. 3. Minimum age for Child care: wish I could start the long process of whipping my body into shape before 3mo postpartum. I wasn't going to drop off a 3 day old baby or anything, but 6 weeks would be nice. 5. Parents-nights-out: wish they would take a potty trained 2 year old. 6. Family locker room: wish they could stop men unaccompanied by children from walking through it. Making the family locker room the shortest route to the pool was a design flaw for sure, but the deed is done. There has to be something more effective than a small sign on the door to prevent the constant flow of people without children through there. Clearly, none of those negatives are deal breakers, and in fact only add up to the subtraction of 1 star from my yelp rating. There is SO MUCH TO LOVE about this gym! It's certainly not cheap, but for how much we've used it, it's been well worth the money and we are thankful for the opportunity to be members. read more

Colleyville and Flower Mound are great! I love the fact that you can do anything there. My biggest draw is swim and kids stuff.

90$ a month and I can bring 2 guest per month but apparently now I can't bring the same guest within 2 months. Lifetime is actually just a scam. Go anywhere else and get a better value. And the location I go to actually blew up from a gas leak and could've killed someone. This gym is terrible. I also was in line to let my friend in as my guest and the guy in front of me didn't have any issues but since my friend was black they got strict with the rules. Racist. read more

I'm not sure how anyone could rate this facility anything but a "5" except if the complaint is the high cost to join. We are visiting the area for 3 weeks and our family bought us a one month membership (linked to their membership). This place is amazing. Every kind of cardio piece of equipment you could imagine, an incredible free weight section combined with very high quality machines. The locker room, towel service and service area are constantly clean and refreshed. Now let me get to the pools. Indoor 25M pool (5 lanes) plus outdoor 25 yd pool all for lap swimming. Plus play pools for kids with water slides (warm water pool indoors for aqua X and for kids with a beach-like walk in entrance. I typically swim in a masters program at home and they are launching such a program. So far it is only a few workouts a week, but as more people join it can be expanded. For people who live in the area it is a lot more convenient than going to Southlake to swim in their early morning masters program. My only complaint is that they should allow people to drink out of the water fountains. If you don't want to take a drink then don't drink, but for those of us who already have had COVID or don't care if we get it because we don't have risk factors we should be allowed to drink the water if we are thirsty. Historically the flu virus hits every year and never before have water fountains been shot down. Freaking LOVE this gym SO much! Is obviously huge! There's a spa (services are super over priced, but if you have LT bucks saved then, why not right?). There's also a cafe, again overpriced, but I tried a panini there once....it was AMAZING! I really have zero complaint about this gym. However, I do think the account managers could be a bit more consistent and friendly. They're so nice when they're getting you to sign up, but once they've got you they really kick you to the curb. When I tried to say hello to the guy that signed me up (ya know, to be polite right?), he totally looked at me like I was an alien and kept walking.....#awkward. The facilities are always super clean which being a neat freak, I love. If there is ever something that's not working it's usually fixed that day! The front desk people and personal trainers are all super nice, friendly and helpful. They offer a variety of group fitness classes that are actually legit. I was super impressed with a yoga class I took. I typically go to a legit yoga studio, so i was very skeptical. Way to prove me wrong Michelle! All in all, totally recommend this gym! So worth the money. UPDATE: I was finally able to go and check out the Life Time Fitness Spa. I must say I was pleasantly surprised. I had the pleasure of having Celeste do my nails and she did a good job. (See picture attached). It was a bit pricey compared to your typical nail shop, but if you have some LT bucks I definitely recommend Celeste! Signed up at Lifetime after a horrible experience at 24 hour fitness. Lifetime doesn't do any advertising so my Wife and I decided to give them a try by walking into to the Colleyville location. The moment we walked in the red carpet was rolled out. It's a 14 year old location but it doesn't matter it's very clean and well maintained. Like any gym of this size it's gets rather busy, basketball courts sometimes are occupied by non-basketball activities which can be rather annoying. The staff is gree from the time you check-in everyone seems to be in great spirits diligently working on task and readily available to assist. Overall I recommend anyone that can get over the price and extra activities that cause a crowd. Definitely give lifetime a try it's worth it! Review is old I am really starting to hate this place because of the different events that takes place on the basketball court. The members are rude and the staff allows them to run club. Great fitness club. Tons of cardio equipment. For lifting, it has everything. Multiple squat racks that are also set up perfectly for deadlifting, free weights up to much heavier than I can handle, all kinds of benches and cable machines. Very large sauna and hot tubs, and steam rooms in the bathrooms. The indoor and outdoor pools are great for kids (both areas have two slides). Their high pressure sales technique is a HUGE (!!!!!) turnoff. (clubs should never have commissioned sales people... they turn off more than they get to join). "You should JOIN TODAY because the rates are going up by $50 per month in January" (it's true, they are)... "and IF you join today you will be grandfathered in at the old rate." Congratulations... because now you've completely lost me. i would never join a club that increased their rates by $50 PER MONTH. Don't worry, they're going to change the name to make you feel like it's worth it but... still the same club. The fact that i can easily afford it makes me even more against money thirsty business policies. Still thinking about joining? Read the MULTIPLE complaints about "lost" cancellation forms and they continue to charge your credit card. Still thinking about joining? Was just checking to see if others had the same issues we have had here and it looks like it's a common occurrence. We went in person to cancel our membership. Instead they placed a hold and then started charging my credit card again. They've charged me $190 for the past 3 months. We went back in to tell them they made a mistake and they said they would cancel. Checked our app to confirm and they again placed a hold instead of a cancel. 2 weeks later we were charged $100 because they require 30 days notice to cancel. I understand that was the agreement and if that had happened when I tried to cancel the first time in October I wouldn't have been an issue. But they have now overcharged me for 3 months plus the additional days. They then tell said they can't do anything, it will have to go through their corporate accounting. Buyer beware. It's a nice gym, but the fact that they froze my account twice rather than canceling seems intentional. Request a hard copy of the cancellation. I love this gym! I've been a member for 6 years. The staff are so hospitable & friendly when I walk through the door. The bathrooms are clean and organized well. The pool area during the Summer was fun because the music played all day, not too loud and the pool was clean and access to a lot of towels. The gym room is clean, floors are clean and plenty of hand sanitizer and clean towels and wipes from dispensers around the gym to clean off workout equipment. When I do the spin class the instructors are always aware of new comers to help them get set up on their bikes. read more

So, give you. the background first - I got. a membership early this year, and didn't really use it. Sometime in late feb, I went into Colleyville. location for my last time. to cancel. my membership. I was told to go to guest services, where I spoke to an employee ( I believe his name was Christopher, don't really. remember), and told him I wanted to cancel my membership. He said okay, and told me to email them with this request in writing. I did what I was told to do. - because that's what the employee told me to do!! fast forward 2 or 3 months- I start getting collection letters. I respond to all of them about my membership being cancelled, and if it's not already, I want it cancelled! Covid hit - whatever. Gym closed for while. Well today, almost $200 was taken from my bank account for lifetime fitness. annoyed, I call their collections - Steve informed me that I was supposed to. go into the club physically to cancel! WHAT?! That's what I did! He argues with me, and tells me that the employees know what they are doing, they would have gotten my signed statement. WELL THEY DIDN'T! AND I WAS NEVER INFORMED THAT IS WHAT WAS NEEDED FROM ME! He also tells me that he will notate the account and cancel it now - meaning I will continue to be charged for another month. WHHATTT!?!?! At this point I'm ticked. So I call the Colleyville location, and spoke to Leslie. Leslie was half-ass listening to my complaint, I can hear her speaking to her coworkers in the background as I'm talking. She then argues with me about the facts, because SHE WASNT EVEN LISTENING! Basically, Leslie tells me that I'm SOL. I'm like, "fine Leslie, I can see I won't be getting a refund, but going forward can you make sure all the employees tell the members on the protocol on how to cancel memberships?" This lady freaking tells me that I'm in the wrong here, that I should have gotten proof of cancellation and that I should always get authorization of cancellation. WHAT! I'm sorry maybe I was naive, but I'm pretty sure the employees have given me the run around on how to cancel my membership, resulting in me having to pay for the 3 or 4 months I THOUGHT WAS ALREADY CANCELLED! basically - I threw money down the drain because their customer service is BEYOND TERRIBLE! And even after i cancelled my membership, they continued charging my card and are yet to refund (more than 90 days after my cancellation) I have filed a complaint against this location to the corporate office which doesn't care. MY REPLY: I was specifically told that the 2 $10.83 would be refunded and even more so, I didn't make any change in January and why was this not explained earlier and i was misled to believe that they had ALREADY been refunded. Do you consider this to be good business practices? What about the payment in April. Your paperwork clearly states to cancel by 3/31. Do you want me to show that AGAIN to you? THEIR REPLY: I have seen the paperwork but there is still a 30 day policy. A members request for cancellation date may be listed on there but the 30 day notice will still stand. I have used this place for late night workouts from swimming in the indoor pool to dry heat room/ sauna is what I Iike to call it. The gym is open 24 hours is one of the many pros not to mention for me at least I have never felt "crowded" as to other gym competitors, not to mention the equipment works such as the dry heat room sauna. The entire facility is always maintained in working order and clean. Like prior reviews it is upscale but not in a snotty way but a nice way. Everyone is very respectful and friendly. You have to think on their upkeep to keep this gym running extremely well so the costs of the membership is well worth it in my opinion, but everyone's budget is different so that is to be respected. I have certain price point for myself and stay at that point no matter what. As far as customer service, never any issues they greet you come in and the farewell too. I find the staff to be very friendly. So getting back to my price point of certain things in my life such as gym membership, it got to a point where it was not going to be feasible to do this anymore as much as I hate saying it. I went to the gym and met Benjamin Nickolson who did work with me to get my membership down to something I would be happy with and I got to keep my membership! This gym is worthless operating under the current guidelines. I have been a member there since 2004 paying $100 a month and cant even get a locker because only about 1 in 6 are available. They have the dry sauna limited to 4 people like Covid 19 can live at 185 degrees F. Thus you have to wait in line to get in and when you do get in you feel completely guilty because other are waiting. Thus the 20-30 min I need for my back is not possible. I am freezing my membership until they are 100% open and no face mask are required. read more

You definitely pay for this gym....but there are a lot of benefits from paying half price at another gym! They have up to date machines. Lots of great classes, they even have hot yoga here...they warm the room up to 90 degrees...it's awesome. I do feel like any time you go here it will be packed, only because i go when normally it shouldn't be that packed and this gym has a lot of workout freaks everywhere! I can't imagine how busy it would be from 4-6pm! Overall I wouldn't pay for the membership here, mainly because of location, this gym is about 25 minutes from me and there aren't any locations that are less than 15 minutes away that would make me join.
