I'm so happy I brought her here because this place has been amazing to her and my family. The veterinarians were up front with Chloe's care and probability of surviving surgery, and discussed options with my spouse and I with tenderness and honesty. Dr. Blum provided meticulous research and took the time to discuss options many times with our family. Dr. Nevo amputated Chloe's broken leg successfully, a surgery that isn't performed as often as dogs and cats. Seriously, you should see the xray, y'all. She's a pro amongst pros. When Chloe's incision became infected (due to its location that's difficult to keep clean) Dr. Duke provided the most ginger and tender care to my bunny, who was scared and in pain but didn't fight because she felt safe under his care. The real MVP of this clinic and Chloe's care is Veterinarian Technician Brooke H. From the moment we brought Chloe in for her leg, Brooke provided the utmost care and love to Chloe. She also went above and beyond to ensure we had timely updates of Chloe's surgery and aftercare. As many things in life go, Chloe's leg break came at a difficult time for our family. Brooke was the divine intervention we and Chloe needed to care for her injury. I wish I had a big sack of money to give her lol! Chloe is so special to our family and I'm so thankful for this hospital. They continue to show great concern for the quality of life of both 2- and 4-legged, and in Chloe's case 3-legged, creatures on this Earth. We saw Dr. Becky Josesphs for all his first-year appointments. She was very sweet and answered all my questions as a first-time cat mom. Buster really liked her, even though she took him into the back :) There was one day that Buster puked early in the morning and I called freaking out. They called me right away when they opened and Dr. Josephs fit me in between appointments that morning. She gave me advice on a simple diet but he still had no interest in eating. I brought him back the following morning and they ended up keeping him overnight. When I went to pick him up, he had only had a few treats but she was not very concerned about him. I brought him home and within a few hours, he was eating again and playing as if nothing had happened! we never found out what was wrong, but we just went with it :) More recently, we have been seeing Dr. Samantha Gardner. I was not as impressed with her the first time, but y the second time, she also was incredibly knowledgeable as I asked way too many questions and Buster took to her as well. The whole support staff at Oak Knoll is very nice and always excited to see me and Buster! I recommend them to all my friends!!

I have brought my cat here multiple times over the past 18 months and, according to their records, I missed only two appointments. Last week, I called to let them know I would not be able to make my appointment and specifically asked them to reschedule it. I was told that it had been rescheduled for today, Monday. Before coming in today, I called because I had not received a text confirming the appointment time. The person I spoke with told me that they had not actually rescheduled the appointment, despite what I had been told the previous week. I was then told that they would no longer provide any services to me or my cat. When I asked why I had not received a text so I would know there was an issue, I was told that they had sent me a letter and that the employee "didn't think it was worth a text." They also brought up two missed appointments, one of which was supposedly a missed neutering surgery. That is not an accurate representation of what happened. On that date, I did bring my cat to the clinic. The visit ended up being for a different issue/service, and I paid for that service. So characterizing that as simply a no-show is extremely misleading. What bothers me most is the lack of communication and the way this was handled. I called in advance, was told my appointment had been rescheduled, and then showed up based on that information--only to be told that they had decided not to provide services anymore. If you are trusting a veterinary clinic with your pet, communication and basic professionalism matter. Based on this experience, I would strongly encourage people to ask questions and make sure they have written confirmation of every appointment and cancellation, because apparently verbal communication with this clinic is not something you can rely on.

I have German Shepherd dogs and they didn't seem comfortable or able to properly give them the care they needed. They acted nervous and afraid to give them the care they needed and therefore my GSD didn't get the care he needed from this office. I brought my dog to Rockford Road Animal Hospital and it was a completely different experience. The vet techs and veterinarians there understood how to deal with this breed and were able to treat him and give him the care he needed. Whereas at Northwest Animal Hospital they "tried" treating him and were not able to and sent us away causing us to spend more money on additional appointments which resulted in my dog getting a delayed medical diagnosis he needed. I wouldn't recommend Northwest Animal Hospital for breeds of dogs that can be a bit more challenging. It's all about the approach and it was a day and night experience with Rockford Road Animal Hospital compared to them. I will continue bringing my cats there but I won't be bringing my dogs there again.

We asked to have her euthanized in our car so we could take her home to bury her. They refused to do that, so we had to carry her in (65 lbs), have her put down and then carry her back out. For being long time patients of theirs, I can't imagine a less sympathetic response to our needs. They used to be really good but now that they have grown so much, it is hard to get appointments and the visits feel rushed. We are moving on to somewhere else with our new dog.

Their prices are totally fair and I have a great experience at every visit. They are busy like any reputable health practice, so occasionally I've had to wait an extra day or two for an appt, but I can't fault them for being popular. (Bonus: Halloween-size candies at the desk for the humans.) THE PEOPLE: I love that they recognize me and escort me to an exam room right away like I'm a baller. I am ALWAYS seen on time and their attention is 100% on my cats. Being a vet or vet tech has got to be difficult -- sick animals, abused animals, end-of-life issues, financial/management issues, demanding owners, etc -- but they make it look easy. I have seen all their vets over the years and they're all great. OTHER COMMENTS: I've had pets my whole life, so I've been around vet offices a lot. After reading another review that talked about Dr. Emilee looking after a King Charles I landed here. So glad we came here. Dr. Emilee is fantastic and so caring. We dropped our pup off early am and were able to pick her up by the afternoon. Staff is friendly, warm and helpful. The waiting room is warm and inviting and most of all Dr. Emilee is exceptional. So nice and friendly and explains everything in depth and was very caring and loving to our pup. Will most likely be switching as I found this place and the staff to be absolutely wonderful.
