I ended up going to Champu on a whim and could not have been happier! Christy was a dream on my big day! She made sure I didn't only like my hair and makeup but that I loved it and felt like myself for my wedding. She was patient as I had no clue what I wanted, and she tried different things so I could figure out what I did want. She even nailed my eyebrows and I'm really particular about how they look! Good location, nice people, nice clean salon. I booked a styling appointment- a blow out. The stylist did an okay job, but she did not shampoo my hair. She ran it under water, applied product to the strands, not the scalp, rinsed that out and repeated with conditioner. At no time did she touch my scalp, much less shampoo my hair. Consequently the blow out lasted less than 24 hours before it was just flat, dirty hair. In my opinion and experience a blow out includes a shampoo, which means vigorous scrubbing of the scalp. This is more of a wet and style; the website should be clear on that detail. read more

Had a wonderful experience with Champu! My hair was natural for so long and I wanted a dramatic change but was nervous about how it would come out. I decided to try balyage in a silvery color with dark roots. Elisha did a wonderful job! She was realistic in what to expect trying to go so light with very dark hair, and was careful not to lift so much as to cause damage. She went above and beyond and spent extra time getting the shade just right. I opted for a long bob and absolutely love the color and cut combination. Highly recommend! read more

I am very disappointed with this salon. I live in MI & my husband & I decided to "elope" to Grand Teton National Park. Therefore, I went for a trial of wedding hair and makeup in May 2017. I was told don't worry we'll give your hair more volume. Oh don't worry the makeup will be heavier. Therefore I didn't worry and didn't really take any photos. Fast forward to my wedding day May 2018 & it was ridiculous. The owner was the one who did my hair and makeup. She was just showing up when I showed up. I had to wait around for her for 10-15 minutes while she found supplies, etc. When she started she was very unprepared. She didn't write down ANYTHING she had done a year prior. She asked me if I had photos. I absolutely hated the way she was doing my hair. She had to do it 3 times before it was okay. I almost started crying because on your wedding day you're not supposed to feel disgusting & I did. She seemed pretty annoyed with me when I said I hated it. She told me it was okay but her tone didn't reflect that. Now my makeup. I showed her a few looks I liked on Pinterest. I foundation looked fine, but my eyes and eyebrows were ridiculous. The way she had applied my eyeshadow looked nothing like the photos I had shown her. I showed her essentially a matte pink eyeshadow with a lighter inner corner and crease. She applied a light brown shimmer shadow. After she had finished my eyeshadow and liner it literally looked like I had 0 eye makeup on. She had asked me if I liked thicker makeup and I said yes. I almost laughed when I saw what "thicker makeup" was. Then I had brought in my own fake lashes-they were the Velour brand. She cut the one side too short and tried to "fix it" by applying black eyeliner. When she applied the lashes over the liner you could hardly even tell I had liner on. The lashes were supposed to look natural so there wasn't a thick band or anything. When she was finished she asked me if I liked it and she said it was "just like the pictures I showed her." I hated the way it looked. Plus she never put liner on my bottom lid. Granted I did tell her that I wanted to make sure my eyes didn't look squinty, but you don't just completely skip the liner!! She added the liner and I had to point out that the eyelashes were uneven between the two eyes-this is when she tried to fix it with dark liquid liner. I have thinner eyebrows that I tried to grow out for a year. Due to plucking them so thin over the past years they won't really grow. I explained this and she told me I had blonde baby hairs I could try and have my hair stylist dye. She said that she'll dye people's hair darker and dye their brows. Well thanks for the suggestion but I get highlights; I would've thought a salon owner would realize this. Anyway, she used a brow gel/liquid (not sure) and told me she incorporated some of my blonde baby hairs to make them look fuller. I said thank you before looking at them and that was a mistake. When I looked in the mirror I had Ronald McDonald eyebrows. Now I was told in 2017 I could bring anything she wanted me to use. So, I brought a Too Faced matte lipstick. When I showed her she took out the wand and put it on her hand saying how pretty it was! I seriously almost died. A) this is my lipstick, b) I never gave her permission to do that and I didn't get why she thought it'd be okay!! After this "enjoyable experience" I was able to look at the final look and seriously wanted to cry when I looked at myself in the mirror due to how horrible I looked. I arrived at the salon at 10 AM and when I looked in the mirror it was 12:35 and I was getting married at 2:00. I know she could tell I hated it but I didn't have time for her to redo everything. Where I was getting married was 30 minutes away from Jackson-so I had less than an hour to get back to the hotel, put on my dress and go. When we were finished her coworker received a text saying the cosmetology board would be possibly checking the salon. They started rushing around and cleaning hair out of brushes, etc. She started to check me out and was rushing me. I really didn't want to leave a tip but she was staring at me while I was signing the receipt and I felt obligated to. In all honesty if I would've brought all my makeup and curling irons I would've went back to the hotel and re-did everything myself. In my wedding photos I can't stand the way I look and will now have to have them redone when my husband and I go to Jackson next year. I contacted the salon numerous times via email. I was ignored for a week or two. Then the owner emailed me back saying she was sorry and she was out of town. Like that's literally all it said. I said I wanted at least a 50% refund due to her horrible job and having to have my wedding photos retaken and she has never responded. So, if you're looking to have your hair and makeup done for your wedding, steer clear of this salon unless you want to feel disgusting on your wedding day! read more

I just had my first appointment at Champú. I moved to Jackson in July & was long over due. I heard good things and figured I'd take the plunge. When I first scheduled an appointment I have them my phone # & email where they sent me a confirmation email/ text and then this morning (about an hour before) I was sent a reminder. When I arrived I was greeted sweetly by Sarah. Sarah was awesome! Very sweet and not pushy with conversation. I love my new bangs & she took off the bare minimum for my trim just like I wanted. She also told me how to get my new bangs to 'behave' with a technique. She recommended product but at no point pushed it on me. I also had my eyebrows waxed by Sarah and they are awesome. I'm usually very scared to get my eyebrows waxed by someone new but she did great. They aren't too thin & she was efficient with wax & pulling. Overall amazing experience! read more

Just showed up for an appointment I had to make weeks ago and plan my day around only to find out that they cancelled me-supposedly called me three times to confirm and sent me a text stating I was canceled. No calls, no voicemails, no texts. In fact, I was able to show that the last text I received said "we look forward to seeing you...". They had to strain hard to apologize. I had a terrible hair cut at this salon, it was lop sided, the baseline was crooked, my bangz was a jumble of different lengths (a portion of hair was 4 inches longer than the rest? How does that even happen?) and the style was not what I asked for. It was the worst hair cut I've had in over 10 years, my husband could have done a better job! For $150 I expected to walk out feeling fabulous, instead I was terribly upset and wanted to put a bag over my head. I did mention this to the stylist at the time, who didn't seem to care. She offered to cut it some more, but honestly I did not want her messing around with it any more, the damage was obvious. She then quickly took my payment and ushered me out of the salon. No apology or acknowledgement of how I was feeling and the terrible state of my hair. The most disappointing thing was that I went to great lengths to ensure a good hair cut. I picked an upmarket salon, when making my appointment I stressed that I wanted a stylist who could cut modern styles, before the stylist started cutting I showed her about 3 photos and asked her if she was confident to cut my hair in that style. To which she replied " yes I can cut a bob." But despite my efforts I still ended up with a terrible hair cut and lost about 8 inches worth of length. After speaking with the front desk lady ( who was helpful and polite), I was offered an appointment the next day with a more senior stylist. Who was very understanding and promised to fix the hair cut as much as she could. She did manage to fix 90% of the damage but of course my hair had to be cut shorter and some bits just have to grow out till my next hair cut. I must commend her professionalism, confidence and talent. The salon decor is nice and their products are good. However please make sure you are getting a stylist who knows what they are doing. As there appears to be some immature, under experienced stylists that have been hired recently. I will make note of one stylist ( not either of the two that cut my hair) who was very unprofessional. This stylist felt the need to make rude and unnecessary comments of people walking past the salon for everyone to hear. Be it about their clothing, looks or what not. While waiting for their client's colour, this stylist sat slouched in a client chair next to me, flicking through their iPhone and making further rude comments and faces. I have never experienced this kind of behaviour at an upmarket salon. read more

I have frequented many of the hair salons in Jackson hole. Never before have I been so happy with the service I received from this salon. Everyone I met at the salon was kind and considerate always making sure I was comfortable and happy with my experience. I was lucky enough to make an appointment with Chad who is possibly the best hairstylist I have ever had! Not only has he done an excellent job with my highlights and has given me a fabulous haircut, but he has also given my mother and siblings amazing haircuts and colors as well. Overall, I would highly recommend this hair salon to everyone and anyone who is looking for an amazing haircut in a great environment. read more

I asked the spa at my hotel for a recommendation for a stylist in town, and they referred me to Champu. The staff was really friendly, products smelled divine :) and Sarah, my stylist, did a great job and was fun to talk with. I had a hair appointment here with Christie a couple weeks ago. My appointment was at 12:30 and I got a call at 12:31 when I was only a couple minutes away. She told me that she had lost track of time and she was running 20-30 minutes late. At this point I was understanding and I realize things happen although it would of been nice to receive the call sooner as this was right when my appointment was supposed to start. I decided to turn around, go get a coffee, and come back. I returned at 1 and walked into the salon and sat down in the waiting area. No one greeted me or acknowledged me for a good five minutes. I saw Christie washing someone's hair and realized she was going to be longer than 30 minutes. She saw me and said nothing! At this point I was getting pretty put off. I was no longer understanding as this is just bad customer service. Someone finally asked if I had been helped and I told them I had an appointment with Christie at 12:30. They said she'll be done soon. I waited until 1:30.... still not done. At this point she's an hour late and Christie still has never acknowledged I'm still sitting waiting here. So I decide I'm done. I go up to the front desk and tell them I've been waiting for an hour and I need to be somewhere. The first thing they tell me is "Well didn't you get her call telling you she was running late?". No apology, no nothing. They were so surprised that I was walking out and asked me twice if I wanted to reschedule. I told them I was never coming back. Horrible customer service.
