And I have to tell you that Quincy provided excellent customer service to us as a third-party claimant. They accepted full liability at 100% "at fault", and I guess that wasn't necessarily a slam-dunk because I've read of some insurers trying to assess 10% or so to parked cars that are hit by their drivers. Check out this timeline: Date of Loss: April 21, 2025 Contact from Quincy adjuster Hannah V.: April 25, 2025 Received text to upload photos/police report: April 25, 2025 Contact from Quincy's appraiser: April 26, 2025 Our vehicle inspected April 27, 2025 Estimate approved April 29, 2025 Rental authorized April 29, 2025 Initial check received May 5, 2025 Notified of hidden damage: May 14, 2025 Supplemental damage check received: May 31, 2025 We picked up our car from the body shop today, and the bill was for the exact amount we received from Quincy. That transaction went smoothly. We returned our rental car today; Quincy will pay that in full with zero expense to us. Sitting in a stopped vehicle, hearing the godawful screech of brakes behind you, and experiencing that awful crash and jolt of an impact was a very unpleasant experience. But Quincy really made the best of a bad situation for us.

The only two claims I have ever had with Arbella were two homeowner claims in the last three years (for $16k ice dam damage in 2015 and $7k for damage from a pinhole leak in a copper pipe) but this was enough for them to decide (at first) not to renew my policy. After posting this review on Yelp! I received a phone call from Bearingstar Insurance, agent for Arbella. They have now offered to renew my policy and I have accepted their offer. I am grateful for their follow-up to my complaint on social media, although it would have been even better had they listened the first time when I called them up after receiving my notice of non-renewal. I have therefore raised my rating to three stars and thank Megan (who commented on this review) for her assistance in this matter.

Initially they said that this would happen automatically as the new insurance company would notify them but they never followed through and I never received the overpayment. Donaghue failed to follow through to confirm the new insurance even though they had all of the information. The failure of them to follow through even though they were notified that I was now double insured is troubling. I am troubled by the fact that even though they are notified about a change they do not follow through and are fine with their clients being double billed without follow up to be very troubling.
