As for Village Medical as a facility - this place needs a lot of help. Trying to communicate with a provider is difficult. You cannot call the office directly, you send a message it takes days to get a reply. You use the chat or call the help line and it takes days for you to get some type of a reply from anyone. The answer is always "we will get back to you in a week." Sometimes a week is a very long time when you have a pressing issue. There is certainly a disconnect between the patient and provider. It is all corporate and help desk. When I get feedback from my pharmacy that I need a pre-authorization, or there is a question, it takes about a week to get any type of resolution because you cannot communicate with the office directly. If it was not for the fact that I like my doctor so much I would leave this place. Finding a good doctor is very tough. I just wish this place would get it together.

The fact that the "doctors" and "nurses" at this clinic have the ability to compound and prescribe medication is truly terrifying. In the 2+ years that I went there, the "nurse" that I saw (Erica Barajas) was never able to diagnose or treat my symptoms, outside of simply reading my labs to me and prescribing medication. When I would express concerns about symptoms I was still experiencing, or new symptoms I was having, she would either have no answers for me, or she'd suggest adding another supplement or upping my medication. She recently prescribed me Tirzepatide, which is compounded at an outside facility, and recklessly prescribed and distributed by Balance. I took only 1 dose and it nearly put me in the hospital. I went to urgent care twice, as well as numerous doctors, and none of them could help me because they didn't compound the medication or truly know what was in it. I reached out to Balance numerous times expressing this urgent concern, and the front office staff completely blew me off and disregarded me, despite me conveying that this was a medical emergency. Absolutely could not have cared less and didn't even pretend to!! Their only response was that my "doctor" is in twice per week and that she'd respond when she could. It took a week for Erica to finally respond to me, despite my numerous calls and text messages, and when she finally did, it was a single text message right before closing time saying "what are your symptoms?". I ended up calling back and I got transferred 4 times and I spoke with Cynthia and I was explaining how I was frustrated that im getting transferred around so much and she wanted to transferred me again and she interrupted me and said that she doesn't need sarcasm but I wasn't being sarcastic about anything I clearly explained my frustration and I don't know what would have been considered sarcastic to her. She then transferred me anyways and I was told that it would be $962 for the X-rays ($162 increase from the first amount the told me). When I was told that price I asked them why inline it says prices would ranged from ~$80-$120 with insurance and that when Cynthia came back on the line and interrupted me again. I ended up looking into Arizona Diagnostic Radiology in Tempe and I got AMAZING customer services and with my insurance they said it would only be $75.28 for the X-rays I needed. I called Valleywise back to ask how they gave me such an egregious price under insurance when another company gave me a reasonable price with my insurance. The representative said the price is not dependent on the hospital but on my insurance. I told her that under my insurance with a different company it was way more affordable and if they are going through my insurance why would there be hundreds of dollars in a difference. The representative then said it is because Valleywise is a hospital. $962 dollars for an xray is ridiculous and no one should have to pay that amount. Arizona Diagnostic Radiology took great care of me and Marlyn made my day with his smile and kindness. Don't get scammed by these company's and do your research to find what works best for you!
