Long story short, she was sent home, but had a few strange episodes and was in a lot of pain, and returned for about another week of care. We met several of her nurses and were impressed with their bedside manners. They really took good care of my MIL. The hospital is easy to navigate and has a terrific parking structure within walking distance. And a Starbucks open until midnight during the week. I had to hunt people down to get care for my 86 yr old mother. My mother had to sit in her urine. They didn't have a BP monitor or oxygen monitor on her for hours. The oxygen tank wasnt even turned on. When they did finally put the monitors on her BP was 192/78 oxygen 89 Blood work and test results several hours. My family has used several ER's in the valley and this was the worst experience by far.

He is probably one of the kindest, most understanding and sincere doctors I have seen in a long time. His bedside manners are fantastic, I never feel rushed and I always feel like he cares about making me feel heard. His MA is wonderful, they are always super friendly and helpful. As for Village Medical as a facility - this place needs a lot of help. Trying to communicate with a provider is difficult. You cannot call the office directly, you send a message it takes days to get a reply. You use the chat or call the help line and it takes days for you to get some type of a reply from anyone. The answer is always "we will get back to you in a week." Sometimes a week is a very long time when you have a pressing issue. There is certainly a disconnect between the patient and provider. It is all corporate and help desk. When I get feedback from my pharmacy that I need a pre-authorization, or there is a question, it takes about a week to get any type of resolution because you cannot communicate with the office directly. If it was not for the fact that I like my doctor so much I would leave this place. Finding a good doctor is very tough. I just wish this place would get it together.

Dr. Anita Koszyk-Szewczyk was overrun by patients, so the NP saw me. She was confident, courteous and efficient. I'm writing…read morethis review on behalf of my wife, who has been battling stage four clear cell carcinoma for the last three years. She was suppose to start her fourth round of chemo on June 4. Her last chemo was over three weeks ago. She saw Dr Mario Pineda on May 21. He canceled her current chemo as her cancer had spread. We went over my wife's next course of action and decided which drug she would be using for her chemo. She went the following week for an echocardiogram the Dr ordered. On May 28 a nurse from Ironwood called me to make sure I had received the Rxs they had sent in and we went over them. Nothing else was discussed. We went for her pre chemo labs on June 2. On June 3, less than 34 hours before her chemo treatment, a lady called me and said, "this is just a reminder of her appointment tomorrow and that her copay $2500. Less than a day away. This is the third time that Ironwood has done this to us. They had over two weeks to find these things out but did nothing. The lady that called me had obviously been selected as the gopher. She told me they were way behind and she was told to call me. I told her I didn't care and her problem wasn't my problem. I was beyond pissed. This wasn't about the money, no other options were discussed and I know if I were to pay $2500 I would never get my money back after patient assistance paid. This is a perfect reason why I always wanted to be the contact person because I didn't want my wife to have to go through more. I can tell you this isn't the first time and I'm sure it won't be the last. I got in my car and drive to the Chandler office. I told the lady at the front desk I was there to sign papers for patient assistance for this drug. After waiting fifteen minutes the lady said there were papers and asked me if I had a POA. I told her that I had brought the POA there at least three times. I asked her what did they do with them? I told her that all Ironwood is concerned with is $$$$. They never call to see how my wife is doing they only call to tell us how much money to bring to her appointments. I have had Simone, an office manager, help me with several issues recently. She is one of the few bright spots at Ironwood. I took another copy of a POA and signed the Patient Assistance form last Thursday. I haven't heard anything yet, just waiting and the clock is ticking. It will be at least 4 weeks between treatments. They called Friday that the Dr had ordered another echocardiogram test? She just had one two weeks ago. She went last week for labs that were never needed. That will have to be rescheduled too. Trust me when is say, I've thought many times about changing from Ironwood but when you read the reviews it doesn't get much better. My wife even got a call from a nurse that told her, "maybe you'd be better off going somewhere else." Who says that to a patient with terminal cancer? I'm done but I hope if you're concerned for your loved one that you seriously consider your choices first. Thanks Simone for all you help, you're the best!

From day one they have treated me like family. They are very involved with their patients and it really makes you know you're in great hands. The staff is fantastic! They always have on smiling faces and you can tell they all really enjoy their jobs and their patients. Dr. Thomas and the girls in the procedure room really put me at ease every time I'm in. I can tell they take pride in ensuring everything is sterile and pristine for every procedure. Marisa is also great! She truly listens to how I'm feeling and always knows what's best to try next to relieve my pain. Even the girls up front are awesome! Tiffany and Brittany are very knowledgable and have great answers to the many questions I have. Brittany is always my go to girl with some of the complications I've had with my insurance. I ended up calling back and I got transferred 4 times and I spoke with Cynthia and I was explaining how I was frustrated that im getting transferred around so much and she wanted to transferred me again and she interrupted me and said that she doesn't need sarcasm but I wasn't being sarcastic about anything I clearly explained my frustration and I don't know what would have been considered sarcastic to her. She then transferred me anyways and I was told that it would be $962 for the X-rays ($162 increase from the first amount the told me). When I was told that price I asked them why inline it says prices would ranged from ~$80-$120 with insurance and that when Cynthia came back on the line and interrupted me again. I ended up looking into Arizona Diagnostic Radiology in Tempe and I got AMAZING customer services and with my insurance they said it would only be $75.28 for the X-rays I needed. I called Valleywise back to ask how they gave me such an egregious price under insurance when another company gave me a reasonable price with my insurance. The representative said the price is not dependent on the hospital but on my insurance. I told her that under my insurance with a different company it was way more affordable and if they are going through my insurance why would there be hundreds of dollars in a difference. The representative then said it is because Valleywise is a hospital. $962 dollars for an xray is ridiculous and no one should have to pay that amount. Arizona Diagnostic Radiology took great care of me and Marlyn made my day with his smile and kindness. Don't get scammed by these company's and do your research to find what works best for you!

I am terribly disappointed with my experience with Chandler Endoscopy center. I was referred here…read moreby Arizona Digestive Health in January of this year for my colonoscopy. I was told that I would receive a call before my procedure to inform me of my out of pocket cost once it was submitted to my insurance for approval. I did not. I will own a portion of this, I did not receive a call nor did I follow up with the center to see what the out of pocket cost would be. I was desperate at the time to get some answers and I was told by my Dr that this is the first best step and at my age I would be eligible to proceed through insurance. I then received my first invoice in Feb of this year. I was charged 8,000$ and my insurance only covered 500$ of this cost. I called the billing number first and all they wanted to do was set up payment plans immediately, not discuss where the disconnect was. Keep in mind I was on hold for 30 minutes before I spoke with anyone. I then proceeded to call the office, I left a message with Rosie 02-25-25 for the office manager Heather to discuss what the next steps were with the bill. I was confused, because I was assured that my insurance would cover the procedure. I did not receive a call back, so I left messages for Heather on 02-27 and 03-04. On 03-05 I did finally get a call back stating not to pay anything, they were resubmitting the bill to my insurance provider. I continued to receive calls and invoices from the center, so I called the office again on the following dates 03-14 (Angelica), 03-18, 03-27 and again I was assured that it was re-submitted to my carrier and I need not do anything at that point. I left it alone for about a month, then the calls and invoices continued to roll in. I called the office on 04-30, spoke with Heather and she assured me that she would be reaching out to their billing department directly to discuss with them what the issue was. I never received a call back, so I called on 06-19 spoke with Heather again and I was told the same. She would reach out to their billing department and call me back. There are some significant lapses, however I do work 50 hours a week and do not have the time to call everyday. I then had a heart attack in July, so I was out of commission for quite some time. In August I started to receive calls and text messages from a collection agency. They did not leave voicemails, I can only assume that it is regarding this matter. I called to speak with Heather on 08-07 and left her a message regarding this matter and to this date I have not received a call back. I am only to assume that since it has gone to collections, they deem the matter as closed on their end. I then researched pricing on my own if I was to pay cash and not go through insurance. I received prices ranging from 2-4k. So again I am to assume that we raised the rate because we are going through insurance? Now I am stuck with a 7500$ bill that was sent to collections, when I was assured they were resubmitting on several occasions. The whole procedure took less than 10 minutes (or 1,000$ per hour) At this point I do not know what to do, I will be paying for a colonoscopy that was recommended for the rest of my life along with the ER bills that are going to start rolling in from my heart attack. I will say this in closing, everyone was very nice, professional and made me feel very calm before and after the procedure. I just want to give everyone a heads up, do your due diligence before you agree to anything with this company As they will not do it for you, even though they tell you so. Bryant S.
