I am going to start by saying that this is not a doctor issue but a medical practice issue. I have been seeing Dr. Rogers for a couple of years now. He is probably one of the kindest, most understanding and sincere doctors I have seen in a long time. His bedside manners are fantastic, I never feel rushed and I always feel like he cares about making me feel heard. His MA is wonderful, they are always super friendly and helpful. As for Village Medical as a facility - this place needs a lot of help. Trying to communicate with a provider is difficult. You cannot call the office directly, you send a message it takes days to get a reply. You use the chat or call the help line and it takes days for you to get some type of a reply from anyone. The answer is always "we will get back to you in a week." Sometimes a week is a very long time when you have a pressing issue. There is certainly a disconnect between the patient and provider. It is all corporate and help desk. When I get feedback from my pharmacy that I need a pre-authorization, or there is a question, it takes about a week to get any type of resolution because you cannot communicate with the office directly. If it was not for the fact that I like my doctor so much I would leave this place. Finding a good doctor is very tough. I just wish this place would get it together. read more

The customer service is not up to par, when i contacted the office and went in to the doctor, i gave them a list of my medications and when i tried to update my prescription, that when all the issues stated, the supervisor stated that i had to see the doctor before i could get a prescription, then they called my sister, and called my sister my wife name , so my sister called my wife to see was I ok, my wife called me at home at the same number that i had gave them earlier in the day with no return call, bad communication bad customer service bad patient response. BEWARE OF FRAUDULENT PRACTICE !! I was double billed for my annual physical visit with Dr Philo Rogers in October 2025. The office submitted 2 codes for the same visit inspite of my specific instructions that the appointment was to be only for annual physical, and that I will make a separate appointment if needed for any medical reason. Despite my reiterating this at the front desk on day of appointment, I received a bill with 2 codes: one for the annual physical with zero copay, and second for 'osteoporosis treatment', for which I owed a copay of $57.98. The doctor had not even conducted any physical checkup, just talked about my med history, ordered various tests, saying he would like to see me after the test results. As for osteoporosis, I have history of this medical condition for over 7 years, the prescription meds had not suited me in past and I was not ready to start anytime soon. I had clearly indicated this to the doctor and that I will make a separate appointment for it in the future if I changed my mind. This was actually the third instance of such malpractice by the Village Medical Chandler office at 250 W Chandler Heights Rd. The first time they double billed me was in October 2024 for the annual physical visit with Dr Armando Rodriguez-Asbun. Same modus operandi of double billing for annual visit plus 'additional treatment'. When I brought this to the attention of my insurance company, United Healthcare, the agent said they had to process per submitted codes and pay their portion of the bill without contest, and I would have to fight the charges on my own. After chain of communication with VillageMeidcal billing department, they wrote off my copay when I rebutted the charges. The second time was when I took my teenage daughter for annual visit with Dr Rodriguez just two days following my annual appointment. I was present with my daughter throughout the visit, that was nothing outside of routine physical checkup. When we questioned the validity of double coding of the bill, this time the billing department sent the matter to debt collection for the outstanding amount of around $68. We were harassed by debt collector agents for several months in 2025. Due to unforeseen circumstances, I was not able to switch to a new provider office in time, and was compelled to make appointment with the same medical office for the annual physical in Oct 2025. When I mentioned the past billing experience to the scheduler (and on the visit day to the front office staff), they confirmed this time the appointment was scheduled purely for annual physical. Hence, double billing third time in a row from the office seems like a case of institutional systematic fraudulent practice, not of individual coding error. Been going to this location 1 year ago Worst experiences , unprofessional staff, rude doctor- Month ago office manager - the tattoo lady - committed insurance fraud on me and United Health. Do not see Dr. Rodriguez unless you want to feel your mental health issues being invalidated. The most unprofessional doctor visit that I have ever had. I will be finding a new primary care. I've only had a few visits here since I moved to this part of town and they've generally been fine. I normally see Dr. Rogers as I was told he specializes more in ADHD and other mental health issues. During my last visit, I mentioned some recent life complications that started developing anxiety/depression. While not discussed at length during that time, he did bring up FMLA as something to consider if I ever needed a mental health day. So I decided to pursue an intermittent FMLA and scheduled an appointment to have the paperwork signed. Dr. Rogers was out of office though and I was scheduled with Dr. Rodriguez. It seems like Rodriguez was not informed that Rogers was out somehow, as he seemed very confused on who I was and why I was there. I told him that I was looking to take FMLA so that I could take some time to sort out my issues without fear of being fired at work. As I started to explain the reasons why, he shut me down saying that Rogers did not leave any note about this. Okay, fair, we didn't talk about it much yet (this visit would have been where I asked about it). So I start to give a little more detail on what has been going on. He not-so-subtly implied to my face that I was only doing this to abuse FMLA and get free time off work. Yes, I very much would love to take UNPAID time off and have a smaller paycheck. Just the attitude and way he looked at me the whole time made it seem like he just thought I was faking it or seeking drugs, etc. I mentioned that I also have a psychiatrist who I see virtually when I sought help for ADHD a while back. When I mentioned she was telehealth, he said "Jesus Christ..." with a long sigh. He then proceeded to berate me not only for seeing someone virtually. I also mentioned I started seeing a therapist for the first time with how bad it has gotten, to which his reply was "don't tell me they're virtual too..." At this point, I started to get agitated and speak over him, "Yes, she is virtual because that is the most convenient for me when I work 5 days a week. And all we are doing is talking, which can be done this way and it works for me." Part of why I am seeking FMLA was so I COULD have some time to get things fixed or make other appointments. He reluctantly filled out my forms, but said that he would refer me to an in-person psychiatrist because it NEEDS to be that way and I NEED to follow the proper chain. I explicitly said that I'm not here to chase drugs or whatever else, I'm just looking for a little assistance while I sort things out. Maybe you shouldn't speak and act this way to someone experiencing problems where they can easily spiral? At no point did I feel comfortable with this doctor; quite the opposite he triggered a lot of my symptoms in a few short minutes. I don't care if you don't believe in telehealth. I don't care if you think neurological problems are fake. I don't care if you're not specialized in my specific problems. As a patient, I am there to seek assistance and feel comfortable about it, not being treated like a liar or junky. I have lived with ADHD my whole life and only finally decided to do something about as an adult. But severe anxiety and depression are new to me. My first experience with suicidal thoughts scared me more than anything. I am doing everything I can to find different solutions that work for ME. And to an extent, it's working. But I still have days where I just derail and can not doing anything. Hence, I wanted FMLA for those times where it just gets too overwhelming without worrying that I don't have a job. At least until I start to feel better. I did not feel like I was seeing a medical professional this visit. I did not feel like I could speak about these problems that have put me in a sensitive mental state. No, I immediately felt unheard, hopeless, and agitated. Push back at every turn. Being told my problems weren't real issues. Being told the help I've tried seeking so far is useless (even though it has ACTUALLY helped me). Rodriguez did not help. He did not feel like someone I would trust with my health. I will be seeking a new primary care, even if I have to drive halfway across town. Do not see this quack. I scheduled a sick visit today with Dr Rodriguez. The check in process was very seamless and easy. I got back pretty fast I waited no longer than 10 minutes. Dr Rodrigues was very kind and thorough I went in for an ear ache and he did a good exam and cared for the exact thing I asked about. He gave me a chance to ask questions and confirm details I gave him. As an office manager myself this is the type of care I would want to give other patients. read more

He literally lied and said there is no other medication I can take (so I guess just die?) then when I asked for bloodwork, he told me to go see another doctor. I have been coming to Village Medical almost 2 years , these are things i noticed about them !!!! Nice clean office but NOT busy at all ....Some Dr seem professional and very knowledge ...Some DO NOT care for patient and gave you the wrong pill ! When you get precription pills fr Dr., MAKE SURE you check on line if that the same pill with picture , and read what people say about this pill. Too many bad thing about this pill ..DO NOT take it , it will messed you up. Billing ....A headache , i pay co pay each time i come in with my insurance, a month later , you get a suprised bill saying that your insurance not covered. I called my insurance , they said its all taking care ....but ..Billing fr Village Medical kept saying your insurance not cover....Back and Forth ! This past year my current Doctor left his practice and I needed to find a new General MD to co-manage my overall health and well being. I used Healthgrades.com, Vitals.com and ZocDoc.com to search our a well respected and skilled healer and doctor for my current and future needs. Dr. Gonzalez and Village Medical made my top 5 list. I then read all the reviews painstakingly carefully looking for "give aways or tells" from other patients to help me determine who my #1 would be. This also required a visitation to all the practices to get a sense of the "front of the house/business" and customer service "waiting room" decorum and skill set. Jumping out from all of them was Alanna and Taylor at Village Medical where they were busy on phones & customers yet found time to answer my questions (I ask a lot of questions), verify my insurance etc. They also gave me A 'WELCOMING SWAG BAG" (nothing fancy) which is a very nice touch for I felt "Welcomed" & "Appreciated at a Customer" No one else at the other practices were as helpful, warm or customer minded by a long shot. Then the following week I got a call from Alanna confirming all my details to transfer over to Village Medical and Thank ME for my Visit. Again, No one else called me! Today, I have my first appointment with Dr. Rodriguez at Village Medical and it went very well. Again, I was greeted warmly by Taylor & Allana. Also, I had received texts a few days earlier reminding me of my appointment for today along with a sign in text to ensure I was ready to sign in for the appointment. Rosa my nurse greeted me and took my vital. She was very professional, friendly, and congenial prepping me for my meeting with Dr. Rodriguez. The Doctor was a very friendly, stoic and professional physician met with me for more than 30 minutes to capture my past history, present vitals along with some Q & A on my medical history. All in All, A GREAT VISIT and I feel that choosing Village Medical and Dr. Rodriguez was a great personal choice for me.....AND FOR YOU TOO! Now you know why they are so highly rated by their patients and appreciated for you matter to them at Village Medical! read more

This "clinic" is a sick joke. I had an appointment for a shingles vac. They took someone who was a walk-in before me and left me waiting for over one hour before I finally got fed up and left. I was sitting right by the front desk and heard the entire conversation of the walk-in patient. Their phone service for making appointments is a joke. Ridiculous customer service. I started at Village Medical this summer and got right in and got my bloodwork done and was put on meds. I scheduled an appointment for when my fall break fell (since I am a teacher, making these appointments at this time is important). I had to schedule 2 appointments (one for bloodwork and one for appointment with doctor). I came in for my bloodwork appointment and was told that they did not have anyone there to do my bloodwork, so I rescheduled. I had to reschedule for a 7:00 am appointment due to being back at work. I showed up at 6:55 am and was told that they "tried" to reach me to let me know they didn't have anyone to draw blood. Apparently my voicemail is full. I asked them if they could contact my emergency contact next time if there is an issue and I was told they would. When I make these appointments, I have to make arrangements to get my kids where they need to go, so this is a huge inconvenience. I showed up this morning for my 7:00 am blood draw again and was told I need to reschedule. They did not call my emergency contact. 3rd time being rescheduled. I honestly thought it was a joke and I was told I could reschedule online. I let them know that I would not be rescheduling. It was such an inconvenience to be canceled 3 TIMES! Not to mention, every time I am in the waiting room, someone is complaining to the front desk staff about something. My exterminator can send me a text. Discount Tire can send me a text. Why is email or text not an option? Not happy at all, because now I need to find a new doctor. read more

A needed pre-authorization clearance was totally mishandled up by this "medical group". If you are having to go through a surgical procedure and require any type of pre-authorization, you had better keep very close tabs on the process as it relates to this subpar "medical" provider. They are without a doubt the most inept group of "medical professionals" that I have ever come across. Because of their lack of attention to detail, and delayed response to specific requests that were made, the surgery that I have had scheduled for weeks in advance, may need to be pushed back. Needless to say, the level of frustration is off the charts, and the customer service (or lack there of) was also off the charts. Administrative duties in today's medical world are just as important as the treatment in many cases. Without proper communication and prompt response to the simplest of tasks, there can be enormous consequences. I am paying the price for this "medical" facilities unprofessional conduct and lack of attention to details; not to mention the way I was treated by this group's "customer service" representatives. read more

This office is the epitome of unhelpful. It takes on average 15 minutes of waiting on hold (sometimes as long as 25 mins) just to get someone on the phone. If you are lucky enough to speak to a person, you better not be asking about mental health assistance. My fiancé asked for assistance with mental health. She was first told that Dr Rodriguez doesn't handle mental health issues so she had to schedule an appointment with a different provider. This apparently raised a red flag with the next provider NP Bright. She was then called by Wendy (office employee) who made sure to belittle her and say that due to the fact that she had tried to see other providers, she would not be able to prescribed antidepressants as if she was seeking drugs for pleasure instead of looking for help in a difficult time. This type of behavior is disgusting, and I truly hope that others stay away from a medical practice that obviously doesn't care about their patients. read more

HORRIBLE I scheduled an appointment and I received 2 diff text messages for 2 different times. on the day of my appointment I go but the office is not open, after waiting for 30 min I leave and call the main number and they advise me that my appointment was cancelled but they did not bother to inform me. what a waste of my time, I work mon thru Friday and do not have the luxury to keep rescheduling my appointment, I recommend you find a provider that is serious about wanting to see you. read more

I made an appointment with one of the doctors that had moved to this office. I had been seeing him at another practice for years. When I made the appointment, no one asked for my insurance information as most offices usually do. I drove all the way across town for my appointment only to find that they don't take my BC/BS insurance. I told them I would just pay with my debit card for the visit and blood work. Nope.... they don't take self pay if you carry insurance!! Makes no sense at all. I wanted to follow this doctor because I know he's amazing and I've been seeing him for so long. I have had nothing but issues with this provider. They double bill me for my office visits and then bill me for specialist copay when they have no specialists. Referrals? Don't expect them to contact you once they complete them. Lab work? They never call you back to review your results. Im just beyond frustrated with the horrible service. Dr Rodriguez was not friendly and didn't even look at me the whole visit his face was stuck to reading what was on his laptop (my chart)- no personal connection at all. I have dealt with many Medical companies, but this one is by far the worse one i have ever experienced! They are overly agressive when it comes to apps and online sign in and reviews. But what fails the worse is the doctors all seem very disinterested at this point, and the quality of care has gone way down !!!! I have been going to the same Doctor for many years, and when they tranitioned to Valley Medical i saw a huge drop in care. The front desk also hires young kids that can be rude, or just not care. Dr refused to accept my lab request and told me I could go to Sonora Quest. I had a valid request and was not being unreasonable.

I've had severe depression and OCD for years (since I was about 14) an never have I missed out on my important medication. However, since having Village Medical, I've had a couple of occasions where my medicine stops coming in because I need a checkup, which I understand is necessary. However, it should be your responsibility to remind us that since you are very strict, that we need to come in for a check up to get the medication again. I went without my Zoloft for several days, until i called and complained to get another refill. They gave me another refill but by then the damage was done. Secondly, I made an appt to come in at 4:40pm at the STAPLEY office. I arrived around 4:30pm, and I know I was last minute but I also work. The front desk lady angrily told me that I was late, and that my appointment was at 4:20pm. I called the call center for Village, and I used words that I am not proud of. I am sorry for using words. However, I also deserve an apology. I have been mistreated several times and I have had it. I also see other reviews talking about your poor service, especially towards those with mental illness. You guys are absolutely terrible. If you're mentally ill/impaired, find another doctors office that is more accommodating. Spare yourself. read more
