So happy we stumbled upon this little campground. Out of all the campgrounds we visited this summer (including Jellystone in Mt. Gilead), this was the kids favorite. I felt safe letting them ride their bikes and play at the playground. It is close to anything you'd need and about a 25 minute drive to Old Man's Cave. We also had a small issue (which turned into a non-issue) in the beginning with someone else plugged into our 30 amp and the lady at the office couldn't have been nicer and took care of everything right away. The staff was helpful, providing us with benches, fire pits, and trash collection services. There are about six bathrooms on-site, which also have shower facilities. However, on our second night, the campsite was fully occupied, making it difficult to use the restrooms as they were often in use. Many people took long showers without considering others. By the end of the night, the bathrooms were very dirty, the toilets were clogged, and there was no hand soap left.

False advertisement for pool on the premises. Shower house on a Friday evening was ridiculous. The first door was locked to a shower, second one shower head didn't work, and the 4th was draining improperly, leaving one working shower. Would not recommend at all.

Jellystone Hocking Hills is a disgrace to the Jellystone name. We have stayed at several other…read moreJellystone parks and were impressed with the grounds, the upkeep and the professionalism of the staff. You will find none of that here. We discovered a great number of bugs crawling under every single mattress in our cabin. We were moved to another cabin and told that we could stay there for the duration of our stay. The next day, as we were enjoying the region, we were told we could no longer stay and we had to move back to the bug cabin. That was not an option as the cabin was not fit for human habitation. So, we drove 3.5 hours back home a day early as we refused to live like animals. The owner promised to refund us ALL of our money due to the major issues with our stay. However, we only received a partial refund because "the partners" decided that we were not worthy of the full refund because we stayed Friday. I guess we should have packed up our stuff and drove through the night back home. Do yourself a favor and do not fall into this trap. This park should be stripped of it's Jellystone name as it does not meet the brand standards and is an embarrassment to the brand.

Plenty of bridges and paved areas. You can really make your Hocking Hills experience as intense as you'd like. With features such as Old Man's Cave and a creek with several water falls, you do not want to miss this park. My personal favorite season to visit is autumn, watching the trees shed their colorful leaves. Gorgeous views, great photo ops, and fun for the whole family. Not to mention free parking.

The trails are well maintained and range from easy to challenging. The trails are dog friendly, but please pick up after your puppy. My friend and I stayed at a nearby campground for a week and hiked every day with our two dogs. We arrived early in the morning and hiked different trails. Some of the trails are loops and some are out-and-back. A few of them involve steep climbs, rock stairs, or scrambling up rocks, so consult the free park map for details. The visitor center is very nice, and naturalists are available to answer questions and provide recommendations. Restrooms are clean and well maintained. The campground at Hocking Hills tends to fill up quickly, with reservations being made up to six months in advance. If the campgrounds are full, there are several private campgrounds in the area that are very nice. We actually camped at Campbell's Cove and drove the short distance to Hocking Hills State Park every morning.

The guides were Ian and Kyle, they are super smart and helpful. Their patience is what we needed and received. At our age, safety is a big concern. These folks ensure it and restored our confidence. Not an easy task. We are talking seriously of coming back and doing the X tour. We now have another destination for next year. I know it shouldn't be said, so I left it for last. I truly believe Yelp's silly ass policy of no selfies should be changed.
