Action shot of my dog (the Great Dane) at the park!
    Cassy W.

Honestly this is one of the better dog parks I've been to in the area. For the most part, people seem to pay attention to their pets. I haven't had any issues with aggressive dogs, or any dog fights over the past 8/9 Months I've been coming here. I have seen a few owners that suddenly become busy as soon as their dog starts to do their business, but that's on the owners not the park. This park is about 1/2-2/3 dirt, although that seems to be the case with all of the dog parks in VA. Just be aware, in case it's rained recently--it does get muddy. I do like the water pump feature, which provides water for the pups, so you don't have to remember to bring your own!

Has some trees for shade and decent size for dogs to run off some steam. Pretty clean, only a few piles of poo not picked up.

Really great park with lots of respectful and aware owners. My lab mix and mini Aussie love this park. Lots of puppies, big dogs, and more.

It's not bad. I've been to worse. No grass, all packed dirt but it's big and has a lot of shade.

Both my dog and i love this place. It had great shade for when it's hot and tons of space to run and play.

The weather was great and parking was plentiful. When I arrived I noticed the staff did not have the room prepared for the party people to set up- tables were locked in a closet with the chairs- which caused the event to start late and ALL hands on deck to help get it up- the staff agreed to an extra hour because they failed to have the room prepped- so as an attendee I was happy and said great they are making it better- However once our extra hour was the start a new and extremely rude employee denied the previous grant- she was awful to us yelling about trash. And inserting herself in the party. She stood over one of the servers and was so rude to him. This I felt was unacceptable and such a poor reflection on the event space. The only way I would ever come back is I was assured in writing accommodations and that same older woman was not working.

It's a decent dog park, but the others in the area, are better than this one. Great folks and of course, dogs of all sizes in the chained up area. If you want to wear a dog out this works. There's a few benches to relax. Parking is plentiful. This spot can get crowded though. I do wish the county could upgrade it a bit. Will they? Not sure but hope so. For now it's basic, but hoping more will be added.

There's only about…read more3 park benches within the enclosed area for pet owners and no water station for the dogs. The ground consists of dirt and small gravel reminiscent of kitty litter so probably not a good park to visit after it rains because your pup will be a muddy mess. The wide open space is great for the dogs to run around though and expel some energy. So far this place is the biggest dog park in diameter than any other I've visited in the area. Plus there's a nice grassy field on the other side of the lot for those dogs that do well off leash and not within a confined area. One major dislike is that the poop filled trash cans are right within the doggy park dual gate entrance which isn't at all a welcome scent. I recommend holding your breath while you fidget with the fence to get in and out of the park.

I'm probably not the best judge of dog parks, as this is my first, but my dog loves this place. As…read moreothers have mentioned, there are two areas, a smaller one for little dogs and a big one for dogs that need to run like hell. The runs are double gated, so you enter into a smaller area before selecting which run you'll enter. This "foyer" of sorts is also where the trash bins are located. The "big dog" run is about the length of a soccer field, and the surface is crushed stone so it doesn't really get muddy. There is a water pump that works in the winter, though with this cold snap is been an icy yet functional mess. I've been kicking gravel on the ice flow around to keep doggies from slipping. There are a few dog waste bag dispensers, but I've seen them empty, so best bring your own just in case. Lots of regular visitors and the dogs get to know each other. I haven't seen an aggressive dog there yet and owners keep an eye on their dogs for the most part. There are always a couple tennis balls there for anyone to use. When new cars arrive all the dogs run over to see who it is. A little warning when there is a wind chill... The dog park is on the windward side of the larger park so when it blows it blows hard. There are not many trees to provide shade on the big run in the afternoon. There is ample parking. After work crowds seem the busiest times starting around 3 pm. See you out there!
