Fun place to have your four legged family member run. Far better for them than humans. Have been here several times. It's a decent dog park, but the others in the area, are better than this one. Great folks and of course, dogs of all sizes in the chained up area. If you want to wear a dog out this works. There's a few benches to relax. Parking is plentiful. This spot can get crowded though. I do wish the county could upgrade it a bit. Will they? Not sure but hope so. For now it's basic, but hoping more will be added. read more

This dog park is very simple. Wide open space enclosed with a chain link fence. There's only about 3 park benches within the enclosed area for pet owners and no water station for the dogs. The ground consists of dirt and small gravel reminiscent of kitty litter so probably not a good park to visit after it rains because your pup will be a muddy mess. The wide open space is great for the dogs to run around though and expel some energy. So far this place is the biggest dog park in diameter than any other I've visited in the area. Plus there's a nice grassy field on the other side of the lot for those dogs that do well off leash and not within a confined area. One major dislike is that the poop filled trash cans are right within the doggy park dual gate entrance which isn't at all a welcome scent. I recommend holding your breath while you fidget with the fence to get in and out of the park. read more

It's huge and your pup can easily meet lots of friends here. I'm giving four stars out of five just because it's not clean. All the dog owners who goes to here need to be more aware to pick up after their dogs. I can see how some people clean well after their pups but I also see some people just looking at their cellphones. Just be aware that you might step on poops if you don't pay attention. However I still love to take my pups to this dog park because there are many many dogs usually so my dogs can play with other dogs all the time! It's usually packed after 4pm till sunset and you can come in the morning till lunch time if you would like some quiet time with your dog. It's usually less during lunch time. (0 to 5 dogs until 1pm, 5 to 20 or more and more after 4pm lol) read more

I like Rock Hill dog park - it is big, there is a consistent group that uses it and every seems to know someone else, people are friendly, it is rare that a problem dog arrives, and most important my dog knows it, likes it and looks forward to going. Dogs seems to really like it, they can run pack style and have pretty extensive chases. Not sure if there are any real complaints. It can get muddy after a storm, and I suppose when it is muddy the smell seems to stick with you after park use. In fact, after I leave there is usually a pretty foul dog odor on my shoes. I'm not sure what it is - it is not dog crap, but it is a dog smell. While we are on the subject of dog poop, most people clean up after their dogs, but because of the size of the running area, it is sometime difficult to find where you need to clean. If you have a small dog there is a separate area. I suppose the complaint that there is no running water is also valid, but everyone seems to bring water and the dogs rarely do not have a dish waiting to quench their thirst. read more

I'm definitely a fan of taking my dog to an off-leash park but the downside is there aren't any that are real close. I used to have to drive out to Reston but it's nice to know that Quinn Farm is closer to me (I'm in Fairfax). So location aside, this is a pretty nice park. It's all gravel, so plan to have dirty feet and bring a towel in case you need to wipe your dog down. It's also HUGE! Your dog will love all the space to run around. It's not so fun for you when you have to get your dog, or worse, pick up his droppings. Ah, droppings. Like others said, the size of the park does demotivate people to poop. It is annoying having to wall ALL the way over there, but you know what? You pick up your dog's poo because it's the right thing to do. I can tell that lots of other people before me had been lazy because when I had to find my dog's dropping, I actually had to closely inspect which one his was because there were so many other leavings there (mostly at the perimeter of the park). They DO provide bags which are really grocery bags in the mail boxes (near trash cans). They don't have running water like others posted, but just bring a jug and all the owners take their turns filling up the water bowls (provided). There are plenty of benches but they seem soo far away, haha. There are also *some* trees but not much. After awhile your dog will likely plop him or herself under one if it's hot out. read more

This is an excellent dog park in Chantilly. The people are friendly and mostly clean up after and take care of their dogs. There are two separate dog runs for large and small dogs but most people seem to corral them all into the large dog area. The run is expansive and there is a lot of water around for the dogs. Not a bad dog park. Echoing a lot of reviewers here, it is rather filthy and can smell pretty terrible at times. Oftentimes I've picked up extra poop and it's pretty sad to watch owners who clearly see their dog going #2 and choose to ignore it. When it's windy the gravel/sand gets everywhere (wear some sunglasses and consider taking a shower when you get home lol!) I'm not sure if the grassy area nearby is technically OK for dogs to roam but I've seen many people take their dogs there and Prince would much rather frolic there than in the dog litter box. There is a lake adjacent to the grassy field which some people allow their dogs to swim in but I'm honestly not sure how good the water quality is and what exactly empties into it. Owners seem to be pretty friendly and the majority of dogs are well-behaved. What I like most about this dog park is that it is pretty well populated throughout the day, especially after 5 PM and there are usually a few larger-sized dogs for my 80-lb lab to wrestle with. I always make sure to bring water because there aren't any fountains but bowls are readily available around the dog park. read more

Large dog park with a separate area for small dogs. Would be greatly improved if there were water available as well as some shade. This place can get really hot. Not a very attractive park -- it is pretty utilitarian with a chain link fence, small gravel, and a couple of benches. Most of the owners are really nice, but there are a few who don't clean up or watch their dogs very well. Owners with small or timid dogs should use caution in the large area because there have been a few incidents where a small dog has been injured by overly enthusiatic large dogs. read more

This is, unfortunately, the closest dog park to my house - so I frequent it the most. Like all the reviews - for the past 3 years indicate - no one picks up after their dog. It's ridiculous. I see it all the time. They let their dog in the park - go sit down and talk - and either don't see or pretend not to see their dog doing his business in the middle of the park. By the entry gates - its pretty bad and you immediately are hit with the smell. Its a shame, because its not the parks fault - simply the lazy owners. read more

My dog park experience is somewhat limited. We just got our puppy a few months ago and I've only been to this dog park and another one in Reston. There are definitely things to like about the Quinn Farm Park. It's big and it's set in pleasant rural surroundings. However, possibly because it IS so big, people tend to not clean up after their dogs when they've pooped in the areas farthest from the gate. That's pretty annoying -- when you consider that there are trash cans and free bags in stations all over the park. There's really no excuse other than laziness and/or lack of attention. Unlike the Reston park, the Quinn Farm park doesn't have a water tap, so you need to bring your own water. That's not a big deal -- it's just worth knowing. Without getting into a general criticism of the behavior of many dog-owners in general (those who hang out near the gate, oblivious to whatever havoc their dog is wreaking), I guess that's about all I've got to say. read more

Quinn Farm has good and bad points. Good: Large running area, they provide bags for clean up, small area for small dogs, benches, close to my apt, and a great crowd. Bad: Not much shade, no running water, and irresponsible pet owners who didn't bother to clean up after their dogs. This is a less them awesome place for these 90 degree summer days, but not so bad when it is a little cooler. Over all, my little dog had a great time and water thoroughly exhausted when we came home! I will def come back. read more

We really enjoyed bringing our puppy to the Quinn Farm dog park. There were a ton of dogs there on the weekend when the weather was decent. We started Baxter, our Coton de Tulear, off at the small dog park. There were a lot of small dogs when we first got there. Baxter is a puppy and smaller than most of the other dogs, and I liked that the other dog owners were mindful of how their dogs behaved around the little one in the pack. Everyone was very friendly and Baxter had a great time. After about 45 minutes, the small dog park cleared up and we brought Baxter into the regular dog area, but kept him on his leash. The dogs were really friendly, and it was great to have a place with so many dogs to socialize our little fella. We'll definitely be going back. read more

Not a fan of the gravel, but I like how there are two sections - one primarily for small dogs and one for large. There is not any grass - it's all gravel and dirt so be prepared to wipe your dog down if you're worried about having him/her track dirt in your car. There are tons of bowls around but no water fountain from what I could tell. Be sure to bring a water bottle. Keep your eyes peeled for the turn when you're on old lee hwy. It's not prominent, but it's there - a small red wooden fence that has the name etched/painted on the wood. read more

So.. this may not really fit the Yelp standard review profile as it is not really a business, per se. But, as a new dog-as-a-child owner, I know that these types of dog amenities are also important to me and it would be nice to get some feed back from other people who had been. So, I'm going to start reviewing off- leash dog parks and hope that it catches on so that other people can let me know what to expect before I schlep all the way out there. Anyways, I just went to Quinn Farm Park for the first time last weekend. It was a great experience. Physically, its not the much to look at it. Its a new park, so the road leading up to it is still a little rough (as in unpaved) and to the right I believe there were athletic fields of some sort leaving everything to left for the dogs. As with all other Fairfax Co. dog parks I've visited so far, the area itself was really nothing more than a gated in dirt lot. There were two sections, one for smaller dogs and one for larger dogs which I always think is a nice idea despite the gigantor stature of my dog. There were a few trees standing in the lot which would be nice in the summer months I suppose, if they are substantial enough to provide some shade. And also several benches around the edges for owners to sit and watch all the action. Really, its not the way it looks that makes this park stand out to me. There is just a really nice feeling to this park. I found the owners to be more of a community, and also more respectful to other dog owners than at other parks we had visited. Also, there are mailboxes set up that are filled to the brim with plastic bags brought in from users' homes and dog toys littered throughout the park for all to enjoy. It doesn't feel like anyone is just there for THEM, they're there for all of the dogs. And I think the dogs picked up on that vibe, because I have never been to a dog park where not one fight broke out the entire time we were there. If conflict looked like it was going to arise, there was always someone there to step in early and put an end to it. I think a lot of the credit needs to go to the organization behind the park Centreville Dogs (www.centrevilledogs.org) who put a lot of work into getting this space created and keeping it happy and enjoyable. This isn't exactly dog heaven (I've been to dog parks in other states where the dogs have rolling grassy hills and a large fountain for swimming and playing), but its by far the nicest experience I've had so far at any of the designated dog areas in the vicinity. And I'd like to encourage other Yelp users to take their four legged friends and also to support the group behind it! read more

This park is ok. Its a huge gravel lot, and there is a ton of room for the larger dogs to play with each other, run, play fetch, or just explore. The biggest drawback here is that people fail to clean up after their dogs, and you'll probably end up stepping right in it at some point. This park is a great park to go to with your dogs. I and my dog really enjoyed this park. Here are a few reasons: 1.) Lots of room for many dogs to run and play. 2.) Most people are friendly and does not baby their dogs as much. 3.) All size breeds...very thankful to see LARGE Breeds there. (Even the small ones are playing with the BIG ones...lol...this is great!) 4.) Nothing bad I can really say about this park. I will continue taking my dog to this park. I went to the dog park today. I go there about twice a week. There are some dog owners who just stand there and watch their dogs being aggressive and do nothing. I wish there was some way I could tell these people, I am not the one who has to leave. Your dogs are being bad. I know two Lab's, who out weigh my Goldens by 75 lbs., and these owners just stand there and watch. Even people with puppies, humping a bigger dog only lets the puppy think this is ok. They are only going to grow up to be big dogs who hump. One dog who just got there today, Duke, a white Lab, was growling at the other dogs as he attempted to f--- my Golden's head. Like my Golden was his prize. It's suppose to be fun for the dogs to get together, not what it's become. read more

Came to the park around 5:15 PM and there were about 5 or 6 other dogs. Today I brought my pit/lab mix Shadow along with my pom/chi mix Annie and it was a MUCH better experience. There was a cane corso mix that shadow played and rough houses with and there was a pug and two schnauzers that Annie played with. There was a beagle that got excited and ran Annie over and she shook it off. I would give it 5 stars but an overly shy dog nipped shadow when he tried to sniff her and a larger very dominant dog nipped shadow when he tried to sniff him. I've taken my dog here 3 times. There is absolutely no grass or soft surface- it is made entirely of gravel and rocks. I have a 75 lb lab and I just spent the afternoon at the vet after he cut his paw pads up... After only 10 minutes if play. I will never take my dog here again, as it's unsafe. There are plenty of dog parks that manage to keep up with landscaping and irrigation, I don't understand why this one is dust and rock. read more

I finally found it and it is called Rock Hill Park. There were no signs that there was a dog park. It took me three times to finally realize that you had to take the road in the park and there is a dog park on the left side. I am so happy that I finally found it. There were so many dogs there and their owners......I will go there everyday as long as the weather holds up. There is a park on the right side where there are kids playing for sports. read more

I just moved back to Manassas from living in the Reston/ Herndon area and wanted to find a dog park for my Griffin without making the hike to Reston. I did a quick google search and Rock Hill came up and off we went. It wasn't a terrible drive, it was pretty easy to find, and the parking was decent. I went here on a early Saturday morning and there was a decent crowd. A lot of big dogs which I was happy about because my boy is 70 plus pounds and comes up to my hip. The dogs there are great, but it's hard for me to meet a dog I dislike. I think Griffin was in tennis ball heaven because they were EVERYWHERE so don't feel like you need to bring any. The space was huge ! They didn't have any bowls or water but I bring a water bottle and he drinks out of that so that was no problem. The one thing I really really dislike about this park is the fact that no one seems to pick up after their dog, there was poop everywhere. Yeah, I'm at a dog park there is gonna be that, but everywhere pretty much? Come on, clean up after your dog that's how they can get sick. The group at the park was deff clicky and didn't seem to want any new members lol but I was there for my dog anyway. I recommend coming here, just bring some poop bags and maybe a human friend too if you want to talk to someone who doesn't have four legs. read more
