The other reviews about their financial practices being strange were accurate…read more To be clear the staff and Dr were kind and competent but I felt that there was a focus on the financial portion of the visit and not on the actual care. Even if they weren't trying to upsell my cleaning, it felt very high pressure. When I refused their deep cleaning (as I truly have a lot of dental anxiety and would need to consider a procedure where my gums are numbed and cleaned--so awful sounding even if it is routine) the hygienist guilted me. It has never been suggested to me that I have a deep cleaning so this was a new thing to me. I didn't know I needed it and honestly it was pretty overwhelming. I know my teeth need care, which is why I was there, and a little tact and explanation in what was needed and some genuine care would have gone a long way. They would not even consider doing a regular cleaning that my insurance covers. Would not. Which I don't understand. Even if I needed the deep cleaning, couldn't they just do the routine regular cleaning and I could come back? No. Would not do anything. Just sign and pay this extra fee or nothing. So I spent 1.5 hours in their office for some xrays, and for three different people to use a probe to take pictures of my mouth. It was an incredible amount of time. I won't be going back. Also, in addition prior to this appointment I saw Dr Chang for my kids appointments. Again, kind dr and staff but I won't be going back. He tried very quickly to get my son's cavity filled . He used a huge rubber tail sucking like device in my son's mouth and my son gagged and couldn't handle it. The Dr was kind and young and I don't feel like had any aptitude for working with kids. He told me my son would need general anesthesia to get his cavities filled. I called another dental office, they were able to fill his cavity and were truly kind able to work with kids. No general anesthesia needed He was able to fill my daughter's cavity but was visibly stressed at the end of the procedure. I'm not sure children are Dr Changs forte, but I do not doubt he is a good caring dentist. Overall this dental group isn't for me, I don't think they're malicious. But I think there is substantially better out there.

Sadly, a recent experience has left me disappointed, hurt, and questioning that trust. A couple of years ago, I was fitted with a temporary crown while waiting for insurance approval for the permanent one. By the time I came back, the temporary crown had cracked--and cracked my tooth with it. That tooth ultimately had to be extracted last August. During the extraction, the oral surgeon began placing a bone graft. No one had explained ahead of time that this would happen, or that it would be an additional charge. I was in the middle of the procedure, panicking and crying, and both the surgeon and assistant assured me there would be no extra charge. I was having a full-on panic attack. When it was over, I left the office immediately I wasn't in a state to sign anything or sit through checkout. Fast forward over a year later, and I'm being sent to collections. I've been trying to resolve it, but the office says that because I signed something a year earlier, the charge stands. I feel this wasn't handled with compassion, clarity, or proper communication especially after decades of being a loyal patient. What's worse is that I'm now self-conscious about smiling. The missing tooth has given me a slight lisp, and I've just received an estimate for an implant: over $10,000 out-of-pocket. This whole experience has not only affected my trust in the office, but also my self-esteem and financial well-being. There are still good people working here, and I want to believe in the care they provide but this situation was deeply mishandled, and I can no longer recommend this office with the confidence I once had.

So I went into the surgery confidently and walked out like nothing. He went out of his way to call and check up on me during the weekend which I really appreciated. So I'm definitely sending my close family and friends his way for their amazing service. I've healed up pretty well, no issues, not even much pain very minor. However, the day I was supposed to have the surgery, the dentist suddenly told me I needed a bone graft that my insurance would not cover, which would cost me over $2,500 out of pocket. I had already been going to Seven Day Dental for over two years and had given this office multiple chances, but this was the final straw. It felt extremely frustrating and concerning that something this major was only brought up the day of the procedure. After this experience, I decided to get a second opinion. My new dentist immediately referred me to a wisdom tooth specialist, who explained that a bone graft was not necessary in my case and that the procedure should be fully covered by my insurance. Instead of paying nearly $3,000, I am now paying $0. If you are told you need expensive additional procedures here, I strongly recommend getting a second opinion before agreeing to anything.
