I have NO doubt that Shands would have NEVER EVER told anyone he was, "too busy" because of my 7+ years of knowing him and his professionalism. She missed out with her "quick-to-judge" attitude & hurt feelings because he does not employ a receptionist, or a paralegal to field calls. I will explain to you why this is awesome. And I never ever had difficulty with communication with Shands. He always took my call when he could, and always called me back promptly - even long after my case was over. So, In my opinion, Shands is best described like old school doctors when it comes to bedside manner; very professional, reserved, and compassionate. If you are looking for the best of the best when it comes to employment law, here you go. Shands handled my case about 6 years ago and of course he won it for me because Shands won't take a case unless he KNOWS he can win it. There are no paralegals to plead your hour long story to, only to miss important key details before getting turned down by the attorney. It's just Shands. You actually meet with him and he takes extremely detailed notes and asks tons of questions to help establish your case. I paid my retainer immediately after my meeting with him which was more than fair. Shands was and will always have been a blessing for me, and the validity and justice of my case. I love going back and reading his Prima Facie and the demand letters because they are powerful. I only accept the BEST in my life. I got turned down by a few firms who would not listen to me, and left out key details of my case. It was like I had won the lottery when Shands answered the phone, listened to me, and asked me to come see him. I spent hours and hours, and days researching attorneys before I found Shands. Do not question your judgment - Just hire him. Even if on the first call he is busy and has to call you back--You will be forever grateful. I am So thankful I did--even if I would have lost my case because I know he would have done everything to fight for me. https://www.wulbernlaw.com/

Highly Recommended!…read more This was the first time I found myself in a position where I needed to hire an employment attorney. I highly recommend Mr. Wulbern. He was very thoughtful and efficient and my matter was concluded in a fair and timely matter. Thank you Shands!

Trustworthy and Tenacious…read more While vacationing in Florida my back, neck and shoulder blade were severally damaged by a driver who pulled out in front of our car at breakneck speed leaving it totaled. Chanfrau and Chanfrau listened patiently with compassion as I poured out my tears as I was in severe pain. They kept in constant communication even when I went home to Mississippi and throughout the long recovery. They guided me step by step, finding me doctors that would help when I could find none myself in my rural hometown. They fought for me against the big insurance companies who wanted to either deny coverage, give me nothing to help me get well, or Medicare who charged me for treatment they had not provided. They listened! They cared! And they went to battle when I had no strength left to fight! Kelly, Laura and Ashley truly provided incredible, A plus customer service. I know God sent them to watch over me and help me get well. I will never forget their kindness and their fighting spirit. Do not hesitate to seek their help. Shortly after arriving in Sanford Airport in Florida on…read moreAugust 12, 2022, my sister and I were involved in a very serious head-on car collision. An Uber driver ran a red light at a main intersection hitting the front passenger side of my sister's SUV. We saw the oncoming vehicle only seconds before impact and we had no time to avoid this horrific accident. The only person at the accident who was conscious or capable of answering questions was the Uber driver and as a result the police report reflected ONLY the statement of the Uber driver who lied about the crash he caused. I had no intention of securing an attorney, knowing my sister was not at fault. However, once I saw the police report, I realized I would need to get an attorney, fast. I needed to return home to Connecticut but needed to find an attorney from Florida before leaving.. Unfortunately, I selected William Chanfrau, Jr.; a rude, arrogant, dishonest, and unprofessional lawyer. He made promises he did not keep, refused to accept my recollection of the accident, and treated me with little to no respect. I could not work with this man! Eventually I went to another attorney with whom I was able to establish a respectful rapport. I was grateful to be listened to, trusted, and cared for. He was with a large, well know legal firm, but he took such good care of me for which I am so grateful. I would be remiss if I did not share my review of Chanfrau as no one, especially someone who has been badly injured and is frightened for their future. His staff was lovely. He was horrible.

I had a list of questions and he didn't know the answers to some of the most basic ones. He suggested I needed to get a lawyer. Um...that's literally why I was calling. It was uncomfortably hot! After an hour and a half drive to get there, I was directed to go to MacDonalds down the street, to use the bathroom as they reported had no "public bathroom." Attorney Massey was slumped in his chair and had on very casual clothes and no shoes. He did not stand to greet me and when I reached my hand out to introduce myself, he seemed almost shocked and I had to stretch across the desk to shake hands with him. His son about age 9 interrupted the meeting two times, bringing ice cream the first time and demanding to eat it. He argued with his son for about two minutes and didn't get out of his chair to escort his son out of the meeting and there was no apology for the interruption. The boy came back moment later asking for the location of a toy and more discussion. I wouldn't have minded the interruption, as I am a working parent, if he had taken action to escort his son out and had used the event as a teaching moment for his son rather than just an argument. The "free" consultation (as it says on the sign out front) cost $25 dollars. I was told about the fee on the phone when I made the appointment, but take the "free" off the sign. He was not interested in my case as he did not think he could win it and it would not bring him enough money at only being about $45,000 to $50,000. I had prepared multiple documents which he never looked at, he just wanted "my story" My first complaint was about being fired due to age discrimination and he never even asked what my age was. He directed me to file that with the state of Florida. There are many good reviews on this man so maybe he was having a bad day. My Dad was the senior trial lawyer for Liberty Mutual for decades and he never would have shown such an unprofessional face. Attorney Massey's advice may have been appropriate, I have no idea, but what I saw was an total lack of professionalism in a man who seemed totally disinterested in meeting me from the moment I walked into the building. Very odd and not what I expected.
