I sent everything I had for review and then was instructed to basically do more research which could be a financial burden and more time consuming for me than it would be for an attorney getting said information. In 6 1/2 weeks I called the office every 2 - 3 days and never received a call back during that said day. I received one voice mail and one other phone call during this time period. We were then told something totally different than the initial first call. Another week went by and nothing. I have now realized this is not going to work out for us and requested my paperwork back. Although I was not being charged yet, this case of ours has been at a standstill all this time due to false hope. I feel that I should write this for other people that are in need of this kind of guardianship/custody case. For a family law issue such as this I would keep searching.

I needed to return home to Connecticut but needed to find an attorney from Florida before leaving.. Unfortunately, I selected William Chanfrau, Jr.; a rude, arrogant, dishonest, and unprofessional lawyer. He made promises he did not keep, refused to accept my recollection of the accident, and treated me with little to no respect. I could not work with this man! Eventually I went to another attorney with whom I was able to establish a respectful rapport. I was grateful to be listened to, trusted, and cared for. He was with a large, well know legal firm, but he took such good care of me for which I am so grateful. He did not stand to greet me and when I reached my hand out to introduce myself, he seemed almost shocked and I had to stretch across the desk to shake hands with him. His son about age 9 interrupted the meeting two times, bringing ice cream the first time and demanding to eat it. He argued with his son for about two minutes and didn't get out of his chair to escort his son out of the meeting and there was no apology for the interruption. The boy came back moment later asking for the location of a toy and more discussion. I wouldn't have minded the interruption, as I am a working parent, if he had taken action to escort his son out and had used the event as a teaching moment for his son rather than just an argument. The "free" consultation (as it says on the sign out front) cost $25 dollars. I was told about the fee on the phone when I made the appointment, but take the "free" off the sign. He was not interested in my case as he did not think he could win it and it would not bring him enough money at only being about $45,000 to $50,000. I had prepared multiple documents which he never looked at, he just wanted "my story" My first complaint was about being fired due to age discrimination and he never even asked what my age was. He directed me to file that with the state of Florida. There are many good reviews on this man so maybe he was having a bad day. My Dad was the senior trial lawyer for Liberty Mutual for decades and he never would have shown such an unprofessional face. Attorney Massey's advice may have been appropriate, I have no idea, but what I saw was an total lack of professionalism in a man who seemed totally disinterested in meeting me from the moment I walked into the building. He could have said he wasn't interested on the phone, but apparently saw this as a good way to rip off a senior citizen and kiss ass to the bank. I gave him one star only because lower is not offered. Avoid this law firm in Palm Coast like the plague. I also left comments with the same firm that might even have a Chiumento in residence and got no response.
