Found this place on Groupon, great pics and location. Made appt over the phone and told them the service I'm doing and the fact that I'm using a Groupon. On the day of service, was told the single color processing pretty much means root touch up because Groupon doesn't allow them to put "root touch up". (I've seen other salons use root touch up on Groupon) The value of the package I purchased is $125. Which includes single process color regular price per their website. They want to up-charge additional $60 in addition to the groupon. When I asked why they said they're not getting the money because it's Groupon? I had no warning when making the appt over the phone. My hair length is literally pass my shoulder it's not even that long. Since I drove so far to come here, I decided to just stick to this and accept the up charge. My colorist comes by and tries her best to help me. I had several questions and she got tired of answering them so she went to the back to call her boss who left for the day to dismiss me. I'm sorry I had questions. I even agreed to get robbed by the up charge price and in the end was sent out the door because "they can't help me" Never been treated this way at any salon Groupon or no Groupon. I've had colored hair for the last 20 years and never had a colorist give me such a hard time and most importantly being dismissive. Customer service here is as sourer as their lemonade. For personal reasons, I switched hair salons and I had seen this one in a local advertisement. So, I decided to give it a try. My haircut was done well and within 40 minutes I think. No more than an hour. I am used to a haircut taking 1.5 - 2 hrs but also I was paying about half as much. I like to think I am not too picky about my hair. A change literally and figuratively every now and then is nice though. The staff here are really nice. The guy there at the time was apologizing about some bottle situation and he thought I took it that he was apologizing to me. I was too tired to respond because of my exhausting day but he was real cool too. The same guy had cool hair colors and a matching shirt. I forgot to comment on it but it was very stylish and authentic feeling. They started doing a Brazilian hair process (Balayaga) but I think only one guy can do that process. I didn't feel that process would be something that would suit me well but it is cool that they offer it. Parking has a few spaces in the back and some in the front but the front ones back onto the main street which is annoying. Credit card payments can't include tip which is slightly inconvenient on customer's end but easier on the staff The front entrance is at the main road but they were nice enough to let me through the back. read more

I had Steven, who changed my blonde frizzy hair to dark fall chocolate with caramel highlights. I was coming after a Joseph Anthony haircut, which I absolutely did not like it was totally overcharged for. Steven gave me a gorgeous layered haircut with Face framing bangs and so much movement not to mention the color was absolutely gorgeous. The salon is so accommodating and sweet they offer you something to drink as soon as you enter the actual salon itself is very cute and clean and the staff is incredibly kind and professional, I have a new hairdresser for sure. read more

I wanted to do something different with my hair, but didn't know where to go. A friend recommended Changes, so I called and was able to score a same day appointment with Katie. Everyone I came in contact with, including Katie, was super nice and accomodating. Katie was great! She helped me look through several inspiration photos and ultimately decide on a color (base and highlights) and cut (I got bangs!). The color process was long (I was there 4 hours in total) but it was totally worth it! I am very happy to hard found a great salon close to home, and will definitely be going back! read more

Classic bait and switch bought a Groupon from them call to ask what was covered was told that a blow dry was covered. When I arrived they immediately said a blow dry is going to be $25 more because your hair is past your shoulders. I said I'll cut is included and I am getting a cut to my shoulders and they said oh well it's too thick so it's $25 because of how thick your hair is. Never said a word about thickness of hair or length of hair on the phone making the reservation beware! I was getting extra service is done In addition to the Groupon so they were already getting more money from me for that. This is a tiny little shop with zero frills or atmosphere and they're charging what a top high-end salon would charge without having any of that overhead I walked out and I would suggest that no one else freak with them either unless you're prepared to spend a fortune to support a dumpy little salon read more

I liked a coworker's hair. She referred me to Stephen at Changes. I was very excited for Stephen to color my hair as well. On the day of my appointment, Stephen suggested that a stylist name Jeff should do my hair. I was disappointed but agreed. I showed Jeff pictures of what I wanted. After he was finished I did not love my hair. I left and called six days later telling them of my dissatisfaction. They told me to come back in. When I went back for Jeff to fix my hair he basically told me that the only thing he could do was add a few foils...anything else he would have to CHARGE me AGAIN! So he put SIX foils in my hair which did not make a huge difference at all. I am still confused as to why I would be recharged for a service that did not go well! I am going to a different salon next week to see if they can fix my hair. I do not recommend Changes! read more

Used a Groupon for a cut and color. I received several "referral" cards and sent many people to Changes. I was to get "credit" for doing so. i called to make my appointment and immediately was given all sorts of reasons that I couldn't do it. I explained I had not been back since my first visit (which was one of the stipulations about using the credits). I was told that I would get a call back from the manager which I am still waiting for three weeks later. Basically if a) you use a Groupon (it seems) or b) you actually want to use the "credits" you can expect to be treated like you aren't worth the time. I got a great cut from Tori. I felt like she listened to me and took into account my hair type when cutting my hair. The real test is it looks great after I washed and styled it myself. The salon was clean and the staff was friendly. I only got a cut but it seemed like everyone else was getting color. The salon was pretty busy considering it was a Thursday afternoon. read more

I went to Change's hair salon in Springfield. I had a Groupon for a partial highlight. I was very specific with my stylist on what I wanted she kept trying to change my mind and tell me that I wanted to be a warm blonde when I told her no I wanted to be a lighter blonde. She used color instead of using lightner on my hair and then tried to tone it because it didn't lift enough, so it turned orange, and the foils bled. I walked out looking like I had cheetah stripes. There is no way as professional stylist she didn't notice because everyone I came in contact did. They should have tried to rectify the situation before letting me leave. No I have no choice but to tell everyone who asks who messed up my hair. read more
