I just moved to the area and was in desperate need of a haircut. Karma was able to get me and my 2 yo in more quickly than anywhere else I called so there was the deciding factor. I was worried about taking my toddler but everyone was so welcoming and she had such a great time she didn't want to leave! Jamie did my hair and was completely fantastic. I was here on Saturday with a wedding party of 12 people. The staff was extremely friendly. I called to make the reservations and they were helpful in figuring out the times to make the appointments and it was simple on my end. We arrived at 8am and both makeup artists were there to get everyone started. Everyone looked amazing and they were open to working with ideas for what people prefer for their "look". The hairdressers were also fantastic. Each had a list of who they were going to do hair for and they were also open to ideas for hair. Brittany did an up-do for me and it was beautiful. She was sociable and did not mind that I had no clue what I wanted done. Stephanie did the brides hair and it was beautiful! Everyone looked fantastic and they allowed us to bring food and alcohol! The salon was clean and all staff members were friendly. The prices were average for hair and makeup. They also finished us all in under the time that we had anticipated! read more

My first experience at Karma couldn't have been better - I showed stylist Stefani 6 different (very different) photos of cuts that I liked and she worked her magic and somehow miraculously combined all of them to create a beautiful style that is exactly what I was looking for - without me even knowing it! Every time I leave Karma I feel amazing. Because I schedule my appointments last minute, I have sat in more than a few stylists' chairs. I can tell you that I 100% trust everyone in Karma to make me look and feel fantastic. The stylists are really talented and fun people. I actually enjoy chatting with them! Please note I am not a fan of salons or time-sucking beauty routines. I know some women are, I am not. However, Karma is a lovely place to be regardless! You can go in and trust any of the stylists. They're very supportive of each other and have a great sense of community, which is a win for the clients. read more

My appointment with Stephanie M was perfect. I have to say I am a little picky with my blonde hair and Stephanie nailed it. I have been going to Amanda B. for almost 15 years. Amanda has always provided me with top, consistent, professional customer service. She is able to give me everything I have requested from the Rihanna Mohawk to long hair with a buzzed side and red ends. I love to have fun with my hair. She is point on with delivering my many requests. I have never been disappointed. Ever! I have two kids that I now bring to have their hair done by Amanda, Andrea and Stephanie at the salon and everyone is so welcoming and friendly. Most salons like Karma don't let you bring kids but not here. No discrimination here! read more

I just returned from getting a Brazilian wax with Christine at Karma. If I could give this experience ten stars, I would. My last Brazilian (at a EWC in Virginia) was one of the worst, most painful experiences that I have ever had, so bad that I thought I'd never get waxed again. So I was nervous going into Karma today. Christine was professional while being absolutely warm, friendly, and without even a hint of awkwardness (which makes sense, since she's been doing this forever!). We made pleasant conversation the whole time, which really helped me to take my mind off of being nervous, even though after the first pull I was so surprised at how much it DIDN'T hurt. This was the least painful waxing I have EVER had, and I was on the table and off it in about a half hour. I walked home from the appointment and only felt a little tingle, not the sensitive sting I've experienced with every other brazilian I've gotten. Pain thresholds vary, of course, but I also had NO bleeding from torn skin. A little bit is normal and common, but her technique with the soybased wax and strips was excellent. And since she didn't use hard wax, there wasn't the added pain of putting hot wax on sensitive skin or the added time of waiting for it to dry. I can't speak highly enough of this appointment. I thought it would be a one-off thing, but I am going to make waxes with Christine a regular part of my routine. Highly, highly recommended for waxing in Media. I'm moving out of state in a year and am already thinking about how to keep coming to see her on visits back! read more

Very disappointed with my experience with Karma Salon & Spa. My mother and I received gift certificates along with a brochure of services to the salon for Christmas. When I called to schedule my massage, I was told they no longer had a masseuse on staff and that service was unavailable. I then called and scheduled my mother and myself for pedicures. There is only one staff person available for this service so we were unable to receive our treatments together. After much exploring to find available appointments, I booked us with back to back treatment spots and gave confirmation information including name and phone number for both my mother and myself. We arrived at the salon today to be told they only had one reservation booked and we would both not both be able to get the service we had requested. While the staff appeared friendly and the location clean and welcoming, the organization and booking was incredibly lacking. Karma is marketed as a salon AND spa, however, they definitely seemed more focused on hair cuts and color and the other services they offer are difficult to book as they are often unable to cover with their current staffing. read more
