Flawless rental. We rented rounds, banquet tables and chairs. Easy in and easy out. Load up staff were super friendly.

Friendly employees and the equipment I rented worked well. I would have appreciated receiving a prorated rate on Saturday because the minimum rental time is 4 hours but they are only open 8-12, so by the time I arrived, completed the paperwork and loaded the machine it was already 8:30. Cleaning it, refueling and returning it before they closed took another half hour. Basically I paid for 4 hours but was only actually able to use it for three. read more

THE ABSOLUTE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I HAVE EVER RECEIVED!!! Called up and placed a reservation for a 18ft slide for my son's high school graduation. Little did I know when the order was placed they booked it for a kids castle inflatable. Weeks later when I arrived on the day to pick it up I was rushed to get there before they closed as there was also a major confusion on the time to pick it up. Within 30 minutes of getting the side home and set up we learned it wasn't the water slide we asked for. I called right away and was forced to leave a message since they were closed. Since this was a kids inflatable the high school kids coming to the party certainly could not use it at all. I was forced to locate another renter who got me out not only the slide I wanted but within 2 hours!! I returned the slide the very next morning looking for some kind, any kind of customer service to right the wrong. I didn't use the slide, called right away when I got home and couldn't return it since they were closed but they insisted I was responsible to pay since I kept it over night and signed their receipt that was incorrectly typed up, listing the wrong slide I wanted. Should I have dropped it off and left it at their door step? No, I rolled it up and put it safely away until it could be returned the next morning. Didn't even have it for the normal 24 hour rental period!! After refusing to offer any solution, the manager onsite that day who engaged late in the conversation and spoke disrespectfully, said he would speak to the owner the next day and have her call me. Well guess what? Yep! No call!! Had to call back myself only to find the owner still wouldn't take the call and through her employees insisted nothing could be done and would not be done. If they truly valued their customers and desired repeat business something could have been offered. Anything. Instead the owner refused to get involved, to understand the situation, and at least offer something to insure my return business in the future. Based on the owners reaction and other reviews posted here, their response is to rent elsewhere. I'll be sure to pass that on!! read more

In the haste of swapping out the tents I never asked if there would be a credit applied to my account as I ended up with a smaller tent. I figured I would just eat it and that would be that. Shame on me. Lesson learned. A couple days later I was checking my bank account and noticed a credit was applied. Awesome! read more

I don't have enough good things to say about this place and highly recommend them. A few months ago I needed to dig some post holes and had to gradually step up the equipment as the smaller stuff wasn't working with our soil. They were extremely helpful and understanding and didn't charge me for switching out equipment, even though there was nothing wrong with it. I now needed some equipment for another project and not only did they have what I was looking for, they suggested a better and cheaper option for me. Any time I have had questions about the equipment there was at least one person in the office who was very knowledgeable about anything I had questions about. They also do offer delivery for a very reasonable price. They have a great website that has a great listing of what they rentals they offer and accurate prices. The best part about this place is the prices on their rentals. They are not even comparable to other big box rental places. My only wish would be for longer hours, and therefore a wider time frame for daily rentals, however they are open 7 days a week so accessibility in those terms is fantastic. Any time I need to rent anything, this will continue to be the first place I go. I am already eyeballing a couple of tools I will need in two month for my next project! read more

I ordered 6 tables and about 50 chairs. Was told the day before that it would be delivered between 830-1. It came at about 9am...which was perfect. The guys who dropped everything off said that they would e picked up the next day between 9 and 11. We requested for the pick up to be later cuz we would like to sleep in. The 2 men said that they would write it down in the notes. Well...The next morning I got a walk up call at 830, Saying that they were in front of our house. Seriously?? It's great to be early...but not when it was requested not to be!! Due to that, I will be using a different rental facility next time. If I can't trust their word, I don't want to return more or less use them for a reference!! read more

Very disappointed with the customer service. Rented a machine at 4 pm on a saturday and returned it on Monday at the start of business. Instead of getting charged for 24 hours I was charged for 48. I didn't even have the machine for 40 hours, but I got charged for 2 days. Tried to discuss this with the associate only to lead to no solution. Oh, and I had just spent over $600 on the rentals there the previous month. Nothing like taking care of your customers. I won't rent from them again! read more

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE FROM OWNER! --We've been renting from Channahon General Rental for 15 years. We've always called in to reserve items as needed and never had an issue. On June 22, 2015, We rented a Princess Bounce house via their "NEW" (bouncing yellow tag on their website advertising this feature) "RENT ONLINE" feature two weeks before we needed the bounce house July 3 for my soon to be 6 year old daughter's birthday party. She picked out the bounce house she wanted from their website advertisement. I received not one, but two confirmation emails, on June 22 and again on June 25, stating someone would be contacting me from Channahon General Rental within 48 hours to take a deposit. When I didn't hear from anyone after 3 business days, I called to give them a deposit. The owner stated she did not receive the reservation email and that the house was no longer available. This was now 3 days before my daughter's party. I asked her what they were going to do to fix the issue. She went on to tell me that this is the first time in 18 months of having this "NEW RENT ONLINE" feature available, that she hasn't received the reservation and then went on to tell me I should have called sooner! I nearly dropped the phone. At that point, they only had 5 houses left and none were remotely close to a princess or even appropriate to a girl turning 6 as one was a choochoo train and one was a car. When I expressed my dissatisfaction, the owner told me I needed to rent somewhere else and hung up on me. I have to say that that type of service will have them out of business in no time. She could have offered a discount to rent one of the other houses, but she clearly knew nothing of how to fix the error that happened on their end. I even forwarded the confirmation emails to her. She told me that the email is not a reservation confirmation, however that is not stated on their website anywhere. We ended up taking our business elsewhere and all the 1,000's of dollars we have invested renting from this company the last 15 years will now go to someone else who appreciates their customers. read more
