I am upgrading my rating because I believe he will be making communication a priority for future patients and their families to help circumvent any issues that may arise in their care, sooner than later. I had already made arrangements for my mother to leave the facility and commend him for reaching out at all. It says something about his character. And no, he did not ask me to write an amended review.

Some staff members were observed reusing gloves. That is/was a formula for rapid spread of infectious diseases. In this instance, COVID-19. It mushroomed from one staff member diagnosed with COVID-19 approximately 5 weeks ago to 39 residents, 29 staff members and three residents' deaths by the time I left August 12, 2020. Two of the rooms that I was in during the last few weeks of my stay had serious insect infestations, including cockroaches. Management was informed, but demonstrated an inability to implement even basic control measures to eliminate the infestations. Fnding an insect in your water glass is less serious than contracting COVID-19. However, it reflects ayuu cavalier attitude regards basic hygiene standards. That will, quite predictably, cause a repeat of this mini epidemic this coming flu season. It's definitely not a place to trust with the care of your loved ones.

My father was there for 8 months with end stage Parkinson's, before passing. Personal items,…read moreincluding marked clothing, would regularly disappear. A lot of the staff are less than friendly, and a bit impatient with him, even thpugh he was quiet and calm, compaired to many of the other residents. Food quality was horrible, as family would come eat with him. A lot was inedible. Uneaten food, including fruit, would be heated again in microwave, or pureed in a blender to a mush, even though he had a good appetite and was self-feeding. Complaints met with rudeness or indifference. Considering how expensive they are, we expected better. Building and rooms were beautiful. Activities guy was very good with residents, and tried to get everyone involved in activities. My mother said she rather end it, then be put there. Awful place.

The activity director is totally involved and dedicated in making each day exciting, stimulating, enjoyable and fun for the residents. He decorates for each holiday with color, appropriate props, some moveable parts, both the interior and exterior. The food is delicious, with an appealing and appetizing presentation. I feel blessed to have my husband so well cared for and kept watched over by professional kind care takers. Linda Muzinich12/7/24
