"but I'm not ready." This is what my husband and I kept hearing from our friends. We weren't…read morereally ready either, but in 2014 we had a chance to "buy" one of the new units and decided to "go for it!!" In hindsight moving to Valle Verde was one of the best decisions we made. We were still healthy and as active as your average 70+ year olds are, and so we could enjoy all that Valle Verde offered --activities and trips AND living with neighbors who have become wonderful friends. Our advice to anyone considering a move to a retirement community continues to be- "don't wait until it's too late!" We both later had physical problems and so spent some time in our skilled nursing facility. It's an older facility, but the nursing and physical therapy care we received was wonderful. AND, when we returned to our Valle Verde home, we didn't have to deal with all the problems we had to deal with in our Hope Ranch home - roof problems, landscaping issues, plumbing Valle Verde's new "green house" skilled nursing facility are almost complete and construction is scheduled to begin in the next year or so. The one story units, the wonderful gardens and walking paths are just a few of the amenities that make living in Valle Verde so special. P Williams

I am upgrading my rating because I believe he will be making communication a priority for future patients and their families to help circumvent any issues that may arise in their care, sooner than later. I had already made arrangements for my mother to leave the facility and commend him for reaching out at all. It says something about his character. And no, he did not ask me to write an amended review.

Some staff members were observed reusing gloves. That is/was a formula for rapid spread of infectious diseases. In this instance, COVID-19. It mushroomed from one staff member diagnosed with COVID-19 approximately 5 weeks ago to 39 residents, 29 staff members and three residents' deaths by the time I left August 12, 2020. Two of the rooms that I was in during the last few weeks of my stay had serious insect infestations, including cockroaches. Management was informed, but demonstrated an inability to implement even basic control measures to eliminate the infestations. Fnding an insect in your water glass is less serious than contracting COVID-19. However, it reflects ayuu cavalier attitude regards basic hygiene standards. That will, quite predictably, cause a repeat of this mini epidemic this coming flu season. It's definitely not a place to trust with the care of your loved ones.

While the decision to discharge was based on the comfort and familiarity of home, I want to express my gratitude for the care we received during our short stay. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed by Angelica , who immediately made us feel safe and supported. She was one of the very few smiling faces we saw during such a stressful time, and her warmth set the tone for our experience. She took the time to orient us to the room, the services offered, and made sure we were as comfortable as possible. Her compassion was genuine, and it showed in every interaction. On the day of discharge, Angelica wished us well and said something that stuck with me: "I'm so glad to see you going home, but if you ever want to stop by and say hello, our doors will always be open." That kind of care goes beyond clinical duties it shows heart. The facility is busy, and while the staff has many patients to care for, it's clear they do their best. I'm thankful for the kindness, professionalism, and support shown to us during our week there. While we're happy to continue healing at home, we leave with gratitude for the people who helped us take that next step. If I could give more stars I would!!!!

A lot of the staff are less than friendly, and a bit impatient with him, even thpugh he was quiet and calm, compaired to many of the other residents.
