It saddens me deeply to write this review, but as a mother to a child with speech delays, I do need to share this with other parents. I am certain I am not the only one experiencing this situation. Channel to Words has provided speech therapist for my son for over a year and in this time frame they have gone through some unfortunate changes. I have nothing but appreciation and admiration for the therapists who unfortunately have quit because the director is self absorbed and incredibly unprofessional, I realized this as different therapists started to quit and new therapists had to take the load with little to no training. The ones affected are our kids. My son has been switched between therapists because no one wants to work at this company I don't blame them. For the last 3 months we were working once a week with one therapist -Liz, who is awesome and once with a different therapists (a very new therapist) I saw my son was not benefiting from the therapy provided by their newest therapists, I tried for months even brought my own toys and pretty much did the therapy myself, when I finally decided to ask for help, I asked if I could be switch to a different therapist, their response was, that all they could do is cut my son's therapy to once a week or go back to Kaiser and ask to work with them directly. Their response completely surprised me, I was kind, I was patient and I simply ask for help and instead of finding different ways to accommodate, they just cut my son's therapy. I then asked to speak to the director I explained unfortunately it wasn't a good fit but I was happy with the other therapist as we were doing great progress, she took this personal and said my son would better benefit somewhere else and that she only had two minutes to speak so for me to say what I had to say fast. I told her it wasn't personal and I was okay with being places in the waiting list so that eventually my son was seeing Liz twice a week and she insisted my son would benefit elsewhere, when I took him for therapy today the director brings me to her office and insists i have my son go somewhere else... I. Could go in detail about the whole conversation long story short is she is incredible self serving, she said she knew for over a year my son was not benefiting from the therapy there and when I asked her why didn't she said that before? Why say this now just because I asked to be switch therapists, she immediately got it and said " I am not comfortable with this conversation" so I had to get up and leave immediately, this is a person who should not be working with children, and who doesn't deserve to have worked with such great therapists, that to leave because she is not someone you can reason with. My one star goes to the director Keisha Martinez, you do not deserve the privilege to work with kids nor with the wonderful therapists you pushed to go elsewhere with better management and where they truly care about their work read more

By far the best place ever. Not only did my daughter enjoy being here, we both really enjoyed attending twice a week for a session. My daughter started here with just 3 words total and being there a total of 8 months she learned over 200 words. I can't thank all of the staff enough for all the support and kindness they showed us. The Staff at Channel to Words are all unbelievably great at what they do. Irma, at the front desk, greets my son and I every morning with a smile and a warm welcome. Brenda, my son's speech therapist, is knowledgeable, skillful and patient with what she does. She sets goals at the beginning of each session and teaches my husband and I skills to help encourage our son while at home. Keisha and the rest of the staff are friendly, they greet us by name as we pass by in the hallways. Rescheduling our sessions, when needed, are easy and the classrooms are always cleaned and sanitized between each session. I cannot say enough good things about this place. My child has been coming here for a year now, and has grown tremendously in his ability to speak and communicate. First of all, the director Kesia is very warm and welcoming. She knows every child by name and takes the extra step of getting to know your child's needs. The receptionist is also very kind. She does her best to get your child appointments that fit your schedule. The first thing my child does when he walks into the office is greet her. The therapists are very warm and loving to the children. They have a good energy about them, and seem to very much enjoy the work that they do. I appreciate how at the end of each session, they give you a little summary of their time with your child. You can tell all the kids love working with them (each child gets greeted by their therapist in the waiting area, and it's very cute to see the children's response). We love this place. Everyone in the office genuinely cares about your child and makes you feel so welcomed every visit. Appointments are scheduled a month in advance which makes life easier for us as working parents. Our 4 year old son has been attending this center since January 2018 and he looks forward to his sessions every week. The speech therapist are all experienced, professional, and make every session fun while focusing on the task at hand. Prior to starting therapy my son was very reserved about speaking/playing with children his age because he always mentioned they didn't understand him (broke my heart) now he has become more confident, is verbalizing his words better and now approaches his classmates to speak and play. We are so grateful for Channel to Words therapy. Everybody there is very professional and friendly. Irma is always on top of appointment scheduling, Ms. Arlene, our speech therapist, is super patient and the director, Keisha, is very helpful and willing to answer all our questions. Our daughter has made so much progress since coming here. She's gone from almost non verbal to 40-50 words. She follows directions, asks for assistance and attempts to communicate with us more regularly. Arlene is the best! She tries different strategies to see what works for our daughter. Went through the hole enrollment process, spoke to the manager about questions we had and all, then out of no where when we where ready to start our therapy we get a phone call from the director saying "we dont have kids your son's age for therapy". Channel to Words is a wonderful, nurturing, professional speech therapy clinic. My child completed one year of one-on-one sessions with the CTW staff. He went from being almost completely non-verbal to speaking three word sentences. This dramatic improvement is because of the attentive, caring staff and environment at CTW. My son loved walking into their clean, colorful lobby each session and was always ready to play/learn with all of their equipment, toys and puzzles. Update (6/22/2018): My son just completed his sessions here and we're sad to be going. All the staff's are really nice to work with. They have the utmost patience with my son and there's been a noticeable difference to him. Besides the improvement in his speech his attitude had also changed. He's more open and active. I'm hoping he continues with his development. I've been taking my son her for the past month and I can't praise them enough. During my fist visit, I was skeptical in how effective their method is but it didn't take long to prove me wrong. In a short period of time my son has become more vocal and expressive. All the ladies there is very professional but also personable. With all the children and parents they see, it surprised me that they'd memorize not only my don't but our names also. They're always very warm with their greetings. One other thing I like is that they are very good at telling me his progress. It's good to be informed on what's working with my son and how we can help his progress. There were several times I've noticed my son getting bored with the same tools used and I was concern that it would hinder his progress. There was no need to worry though. The ladies are very observant and was quick to change up the routine so my son continues to be engaged. read more

What can I say -- but -- I LOVE THIS PLACE ;D We first took our son to another place in Montebello for speech therapy. After the third visit, my son would cry every single time we pulled into the parking lot. We voiced our concerns, and we felt they were not really interested in addressing the issue. I read the reviews for Channel To Words in Montebello and switched him as soon as possible. They were so helpful in directing us on how to get it approved from our health insurance...something a Kaiser rep could not do. From the first visit, we felt so very welcomed by the very friendly and professional staff. We voiced our concerns about leaving our son alone with the teacher, and they assured us we can be in the session for as long as we like or until our son was comfortable. My son was very comfortable after the third visit and tells me "Bye, Mom" every time he goes in for his class with a huge smile. He actually cannot wait to get in class! His speech has improved so much! He has been going for a year now, and he is speaking so much clearer and trying to pronounce more and new words. I am so very happy with his progress! This review is not for Channel To Words, but to the desperate moms who are looking for the right place to take their child. Before Channel To Words my sons vocabulary consisted of 3-9 words, and as a mother I was very desperate to find him the care that he needed. I wanted to get him the help that he and our family needed to get him to where he needed to be. After attending a different Therapy clinic and being put on a waiting list (which I never got a call back from) we came across Channel To Words. Here not only has my son received the help and development that he needed, but we as parents have also received the training that we needed to make sure that he could accomplished his learning goals that were put in place for his growth and development.
