BLUF: The feel of this place seems best matched with athletic training & injury recovery more than…read morea clinical rehab setting. You'll probably be working with PTAs rather than DPTs or MPTs yet paying the very high rates set for licensed PTs. So, this is a model made for the benefit of the owners and not clients or patients. It may be efficient for the owners but not cost-efficient or as effective for patrons. For a fairly new facility, equipment already looks really worn & so do the treatment rooms. Highly professional environment is not how I'd describe it. Evaluation wasn't as comprehensive as I'd hoped. They charge for absolutely everything they can to increase your bill so they can charge insurance. And the rates are so high! What the insurance company doesn't pay will leave patrons with a pretty hefty bill. On top of that, never received an actual write-up of the evaluation and never could get a formal home program no matter how many times it was requested. What the heck?!? That felt like they just wanted to keep a person coming back and not practice outside of therapy to improve more quickly. That seems to go against getting off the caseload as quickly as possible for significant improvement and instead encouraging more frequent in-house sessions so you can be billed massively for each one. Kinda counter to any type of ethical therapy practice of any kind. They're not cheap. I'm happy to pay for consistent high quality services if one gets what they pay for. Can't say that's what I got here with any certainty. If one is working only with PTAs, then charges should reflect that lower level of expertise & training. If one is working directly with a licensed PT, charges should appropriately reflect that level of expertise. Length of sessions always fluctuated (always in the direction of shorter sessions) yet billing remained the same for each visit & in some cases charges tacked on for procedures not rendered. That's an example of their inconsistency. Worth the drive? Ummm...So, if you choose Chiron, manage your expectations. For elite athletes (elite as in you can afford the high rates) looking to recover & get your mojo back, then this may be the place for you. Definitely felt like money was a huge incentive here. For patients needing quality & compassionate clinical PT care, I'd suggest finding a practitioner and setting more geared toward providing that type of expertise & level of care.

My niece had the pleasure of being a patient at Chiron and I didn't have to second guess on where I was going for treatment. They're not just where I go for treatment, they're family!

OrthoVirginia submits the charges to the primary insurance and then bills me for what the primary does not pay while they wait for payment by the supplemental provider. The amount "due" pops up every time I log in to the portal to check in for appointments which is quite irritating. This is on top of multiple paper bills sent via USPS that have a payment due date of the day I receive them. While my supplemental insurance shows all charges paid, it takes OrthoVirginia a very long time to properly credit payments (if at all). In the interim they annoy you with check in pop ups and paper bills. I have called multiple times about this and once I finally get past the AI agent, I receive the same person who appears to be offshore. The agent can see the payments were made in full by my supplemental insurance. I am assured the issue is being escalated however continue to receive reminders about amounts due that have long been paid. As I go in once or twice a week for physical therapy this will be an ongoing issue that is quite frustrating.

I am a 63-year-old woman with multiple chronic conditions that cause widespread daily pain. My…read morerheumatologist referred me to this pain clinic, and I was hopeful I would receive both a treatment plan and some relief while waiting for longer-term treatments. Although I have already had numerous X-rays, MRIs, and CT scans, additional X-rays were taken during my visit. I showed Dr. Sundar an insurance approval letter for a new infusion that will help my pain and condition but he said he was not familiar with the medication. I told Dr Sundar I was experiencing new pain that started 2 days ago and thought it to be Sciatica but he totally dismissed me, he would not check out condition. He told me he does not prescribe pain medication and could refer me to physical therapy, order new MRIs, and schedule steroid injections months down the road. I asked if there was anything that could help with my pain until those treatments took effect. He replied that if I was in pain, I should go to the emergency room. When I questioned why new X-rays were taken after he said X-rays don't show those problems, the conversation became confrontational. I felt he raised his voice and spoke to me in an unprofessional manner, so I chose to leave. I understand that doctors have different approaches to pain management, but every patient deserves to be treated with respect, compassion, and professionalism. Unfortunately, that was not my experience. There are many different NSAIDS that are prescribed for pain daily, this doctor does not have to prescribe a narcotic but could have easily prescribed Motrin or Voltaren Gel or given an insert for how to treat Sciatica but this doctor just says he does not prescribe medication period. However if you pull him up on his Youtube channel he list his protocols and the first thing on his list is Medication.

First, walking into the office the receptionist was very friendly and helpful with filling out the additional paperwork they need that is not on their website. After completing that I waited a few minutes then Dr. Johnson took me back to an exam room where she asked me some additional questions about my initial accident and the issues I have had since then along with any information from my ortho that would be beneficial for treatment. From there she brought me out into the therapy room and did a few test for range of motion, did a nice shoulder massage, some exercises, then ice before concluding our appointment. She also gave me a print out of the exercises for me to do at home until my next appointment. Walking into my first PT appointment i was a little nervous seeing everyone out doing their treatments together since i tend to be a little on the shy side and have social anxiety however, Dr. Johnson kept talking to me and all the other PT's are talking with each other so it is easy to join in the conversation especially with the other patients whom were all friendly as well. This will be my home twice a week for the next 3 to 6 weeks depending if I need surgery or not then maybe a little while longer. I highly recommend not only Dr. Johnson but the other PT's at the Fairfax location as well. I did not see one with a bad attitude or seem like they are just there to collect a paycheck. SCHEDULE ASAP!

Despite the urgency of the situation, Dr. Laino demonstrated incredible empathy and expertise throughout the entire process. What stood out to me most was his precision, skill, and 2040 technology - he managed to perform the surgery without making any incision, something I didn't even realize was possible. Due to the severity and the urgency of the injury he was able to perform a surgery wouldn't 24 hours after getting a special approval from the facility manager . my finger was stabilized and back on the road to recovery. Dr. Laino's calm and empathetic demeanor helped put me at ease during a stressful time, and I felt confident in his abilities. He took the time to explain the procedure, the steps for aftercare, answered all my questions thoroughly, and asked for a permission before doing anything, something as small as touching my finger and removing a splint. If you're looking for a surgeon who not only excels in his field but genuinely cares about his patients, I highly recommend Dr. Laino. He turned a difficult situation into a manageable one, and I'm grateful for his care.

The front desk associate was very efficient & kind at check-in, and my pre-op nurse Nicole was also very kind, helpful, and professional. The post-op nurse was also excellent, and did a thorough job in explaining the post-op instructions to my husband and I (I wish I could remember her name but as you can imagine I was a little groggy). The anesthesiologist, Dr. Wahlgren was also very kind & helpful; he detailed exactly what to expect in terms of the sedation process and administration of any pharmaceuticals. It really set my mind at ease. Dr. Switaj checked-in with me prior to the surgery, which was over so quickly I didn't even have a chance to worry. Everyone at this facility made an experience that is usually very anxiety-inducing for me, as low-stress as possible. Additionally, this facility is very clean, and I am thankful that I had surgery with this provider/practice, and at this facility.
