As a former student at this school, I can honestly say that because of the fact I attended this school I am less equipped for the real world and feel that my family and I have been robbed of our hard earned money and of the education we were promised here. It's unfortunate that a school with a name like "Notre Dame" doesn't live up to the expectations a name like that comes with. With a vice principal who was forced to take an indefinite leave of absence from his previous job under suspicious circumstances, and a principal who cares about nothing but power and his own personal agenda, this school really could do better. To all the parents out there looking at high schools for your children, send them to Saint Joe's, Notre Dame West Haven, Lauralton Hall, Fairfield Prep, or just public school. Honestly, sending them anywhere is better than this school. Unless you want your children to be treated like they're nothing and disrespected in every way possible I urge you to find a better school. The director and office manager are so helpful and have an open-door policy if you ever have any concerns or questions. One thing that I think is great is how they deal with conflict. A child is not put in a time out chair. They work with the children on conflict resolution having the children express their feelings and how better to solve their issue. The theme that surrounds each day at St. Paul Christian School is love and kindness to all. The community of parents are the most down to earth and kind people. We came to St Paul's for our son's Pre-K year. The teachers couldn't have been more creative, stimulating and nurturing in their teaching, and our son grew more academically AND emotionally/socially than we have ever thought possible. We are so grateful for the time and energy spent by all to help our son transition to a new school and to welcome our entire family to a new community. I have had the great opportunity to meet some very nice, wonderful kids, as well as, some amazing tutors and hardworking NHR people. Some of the kids I have worked with have ranged from 3rd grade to 7th. We do various reading/literacy activities via workbooks, computer games, and of course in the books they choose to read. Some times they bring school work and they always bring great stories about their day or what they did over the weekend. There are always apples or tangerines, and string cheese available as healthy snacks for the kids. There is also an amazing amount of books there FOR FREE!! I get so nostalgic when I walk in there because I see all of my favorites from childhood lining the shelves: Nancy Drew, The Phantom Tollbooth, My Side of the Mountain, A Wrinkle in Time. The staff makes it so easy to jump in and tutor. They are very understanding, supportive, welcoming, and just phenomenal with all of the kids. They know them all so well. I find that overwhelmingly impressive because there are so many of them! Volunteer, donate, visit, or peruse here. It is a wonderful program and place here in New Haven.

They taught her how to communicate when she was very young with sign language and now, she is blossoming with her language skills. She was required to wear a helmet at school and was in physical therapy prior to starting Honey Bear. After much collaboration with her physical therapist and teaching staff, Infant and Toddler teachers adapted to her needs and helped her graduate from the helmet and physical therapy. As a staff member who works at Honey Bear, I have not only seen my child grow, but I have seen many other children grow through the love and compassion of qualified teachers and staff, who make us feel like a family.
