There is a picnic area and some bathrooms but the bathrooms are very old. I remember coming to this park as a kid and being my kids as well.

Royalview trails and picnic area are located in the Millstream Reservation of Cleveland Metroparks…read more Located off of the Valley Parkway just south of Royalton Road is a great area that provides trails that are set up for both mountain biking and hiking. There are tow parking areas, a small parking lot just off of the Valley Parkway and a larger lot and picnic area at the top. Royalview provides several loops; a Red Trail and Yellow Trails which are singletrack mountain bike trails and several other connector and hiking trails. The trails provide 2 large loops which run from the top to the bottom and back. The narrow trails meander through the woods mainly following the ridge lines and provide long gentle elevation changes. I would describe the trails as lower moderate, there are no steep sections. The trails are pleasant and offer some nice scenic views of the valleys and some rivers and streams. For hikers this is a very pleasant hike depending on how many bikers are out; on my most recent hike there were no bikers, but quite a few hikers. For the bikers this is a nice ride through the woods, no major obstacles, no big grades and no blind corners. Just using the outside trails I got a 7 mile hike with about 400 feet of elevation change. There are opportunities to do shorter hikes by doing just one loop or longer hikes by doing both full loops as well as there are some shorter trails in the middle of the area. Royalview area offers some of the better hiking trails and mountainbike trails on the southwest side of Cleveland. The trails are nice and offer a good way to get out and enjoy the woods without being overly challenging. Although I am not a mountainbiker, these trails seem to be good for beginners and moderate riders, nice steady climbs and decents, no large obstacles and plenty of twists and turns. Pick a nice day and get out and enjoy yourself.

Mentor Marsh is located close to Headlands Beach so you can get here easily from there. Around here it's much quieter than at the beach. This attracts mosquitos so use bug spray. Entrance is hard to find. It has a parking lot next to the nature center, which is an old house. There's a few trails to choose from. Kerven Trail takes you around the marsh area. There's a large open area once you get out of the woods. If it has rained recently, this place is pretty damp. There also will be lots of mosquitos. It's a marsh after all. The trails are kept pretty clean and clear. It overall is a nice place when you want to get away from the beach. It's larger than it looks. The trails will also take you to the beach if you feel like going all that way.

There aren't a lot by any stretch but you can walk through the entirety in about an hour and have done some uphill stuff so you have burned some cals. They have tennis courts and soccer fields (although often times the soccer field is taken up by local teams). I haven't used the tennis courts yet but they look like pretty standard park tennis courts. The trails though are the place to be. There is this drain runoff that goes through there and creates this like brook which i really like and is nice to walk next to. And when I look at the water it is pretty clean which is nice to know that my fellow clevelanders take their environmental and nonpollution issues seriously. Also I have seen many deer here and they don't even run, they just stare at you and i saw 2 baby deer walked right past them, so pretty. Can't wait to check out the other park. Cleve you got some beautiful areas for sure.

For a while…read moregetting here, I thought I was in the wrong area but I assure you, the GPS takes you to the right place. This place is quiet and peaceful! There's a great deal of trails and rivers. Most of which I didn't have time to fully discover but everything here is well maintained! Thankfully not alot of people come here but this place also features an outhouse and a grill. Definitely reccomend coming here!

TENNIS COURTS -- I arrived to play tennis. There are about 8 tennis courts which is plenty for a park. When I arrived around 4pm, there were people playing tennis and about 5 courts open. The tennis courts are all hard surface and it felt good to play on them. The nets seemed well kept as well. I have no complaints about the conditions of the court. The park itself has a big grassy field that sits on a hill just across from the tennis courts. I heard that there used to be a swimming pool here but that has since been removed. I didn't get to walk around the other side of the park. PROS -- Clean park with plenty of tennis courts. CONS -- There aren't many benches to sit on by the big grassy field and I didn't see any swings or play activities for kids. I don't have kids but I'm assuming that families with kids would prefer a park with swings or slides. Well, now that I think about it, there are benches by a big open structure in the ground which I hear will become a man-made pond soon. Be careful if you bring kids here because they may easily slide down and fall into it. The yard is large for ball playing, badminton, kids and pets running around, etc. The pavilion is large with two rooms to rent. There are picnics table under the hanging roof. Tho smaller than a lot of lake parks, this one is really nice. There is lot of parking, and handicapped parking is near the pavilion.
