I have been a customer at chapman for over 5 years and i have spent several thousand dollars with them.I took my wifes car in for a trans service. A few months later the lower engine cover fell down. When i looked at it most of the screws had fallen out and the rest were only finger tight. I then checked the trans fluid and it was black. I called a few other shops and they said you must flush this model 3 to 4 times because most of the fluid is in the torque converter.I went to chapman to speak to Ryan. I told about the cover falling off and what should have been done. I was just trying to help his guys but he took exception and told me to find another shop from now on. Terrific place. I had issues with my car when it lost power steering, and then the battery had no charge and was replaced last November. I had taken it to other places. One changed the oil, and said I would need 2 tires and an alignment. They said they got all kinds of codes, but after resetting them, there was no problem. They said it would likely happen again and come back. They couldn't do the alignment and so didn't put the tires on either. I don't know how they missed so much else. The 2nd place really did nothing. Then there was Chapman... thankfully! They had been recommended here and other places. I called, explained what was going on and they asked me to bring it in. I did and Ryan, the owner called me the next day. I was shocked at the price (almost $2,600) but I am told by others it was very reasonable. All I know is the problems were solved. It actually needed 4 tires and an alignment, the coolant needed flushing and the cabin filter replaced along with a serpentine belt and other belts. There was also a power steering control arm that needed replacing and some bushings that had literally broken off - they showed me the broken welds. They even sent someone to pick me up as I don't live far away. Again, I don't know how everything else was missed by the others, but glad I found Chapman. After I picked it up, I had a problem with the car overheating. I brought it back to them and they found a hose rubbing against a clamp until it punctured. They replaced it and the coolant again and it has been fine ever since. They also brought the car back to me to save a trip. It is hard to find a mechanic you can trust and who won't take advantage of you. Ryan at Chapman Tire and Service is one who will treat you right and so will the whole crew. I know where I will be going for my future needs. I hope you will put your faith in Ryan and bring your vehicle there when needed also, or even for preventive needs. I bought a set of tires here a couple months ago because they were much more affordable than an equivalent set at most other tire places around, unfortunately, I got another nail in my tire recently, but I was able to bring it back in because they offer free tire repair after purchasing tires recently. While it doesn't look like the tire is recoverable, they worked fast and explained all my options to me and helped me work out my best course of action. Took my car in to be repaired, $900.00. Then they next day I am leaking coolant like a crazy. Take my car back and they want at least another $500.00. This wouldn't have been a a huge issue accept the owner went out of his way to tell me "How lucky I was my car didn't leak anything." But of course when I take it back he didn't cause the leaking issue, it's a huge coincidence. So, If you don't like what they are telling you both the son and father will call you names and try to fist fight you. Great company and two real stand up guys. Btw they also over charge for for tire recycling. ***UPDATE IN Response to the farm boy who would have liked to have put me in my place, maybe you should stick to farming then. The problem was fixed on Saturday and all I needed was a new hose. Matt said he needed a part from the dealer and would take three hours of labor. I got the problem fixed for $175.00 and it took 45 minutes. When I asked the new mechanic about this mystery part that Matt said he needed my new mechanic said Matt didn't know what he was talking about. Not only did they call me "young lady" which made me (internally) giggle like a school girl, but they even braved digging through my husband's pit of a car looking for his wheel lock tool. Even though they didn't find it, they had already sold me on a return visit with their wit and charm. I came back today, having replaced the locking lug nuts, and had them look at the slow leak in a tire. They got me in right away, found a big ole nail, patched it, and sent me on my way for a measly $10. Just about all of the other customers I saw in the shop seemed like old friends of the staff, or at the very least, repeat customers. I'll be one of those, I just know it. If you want good service and honest, this is a great place to have your vehicle serviced. They stand by their work and don't try to up-sell. The waiting area is meager, but they offer wifi. Better, there are decent food and coffee options nearby. Oh, if you buy tires from them, they fix any flats for free, an added benefit if not often needed. We got a flat, really flat tire a mile away from Chapman. We called and they took us in right away. Within 35 minutes we had four. New and very necessary tires for our Prius. The old tires were ready to be replaced and the wonderful men at Chapman did a great job replacing and balancing the new tires. The drive back to sedona was. Much easier than the drive down. In every instance in which I needed their service, they have come through for me in a timely and cost-effective way. They are very pleasant but I will never get work done here. My check engine light was on and they told me to come in early for faster service. I woke up early and came in. Then I told them what Auto Zone said the error message was. 40 minutes of waiting and pacing before I ask, "What's going on?" They told me they were "doing tests." I got out of him they were plugging it into the computer... that takes 20 seconds. He came in a few minutes later and told me the error message that Auto Zone had already told me as if he was some fricking scientist that discovered some new problem. I have been having ongoing issues with my car. I would normally go to Louisville, but with the issues I have been having, I didnt feel comfortable going that far. When my check engine light came on again, last week, I decided to try going to Chapman instead. When I took the car in, they got back to me later in the day, saying it was the Purge Control Solenoid. I told them to fix it, and it ended up costing over $200. They said it was fixed, so I trusted them. On my home from work the very next day, my check engine light came on again. They had me bring my car back in today. When they called me they said the same code came up, when they tested it, and said it was the Evap Canister, and they would need me to bring it back in next week for the smoke test. At this point, I decided to take my dad with me, to get my car. They were not going to tell me the exact code, until my dad insisted on it. Turns out, it had nothing to do with the Evap Canister, but rather it was the Electronic Load Detector. Last week, when I had taken it in, they had also told me there were some problems with some other unrelated issues. In the picture they had texted me of the estimate, it showed it was going to cost $1,148. In the estimate they physically handed me, it showed it would cost $1,955. The funny part about that is, before my uncle (who is a mechanic) sold me the car, all of that work had been done, and was under lifetime warranty, and not needed. All of this tells me is they want to prey on people, taking everything they can. I see all these good reviews about them, but after my experiences, it really makes me wonder if those who gave these reviews were either paid, family, or friends. I will have my car towed back to Louisville, before I will ever go back to Chapmans read more

I came in at a seemingly not busy time and waited to be approached by a worker to discuss my purpose for coming in, they all hung around in the back and when i went around the back side i was rudely glared at and ignored after attempting to wave down a worker. I brushed it off and went back into the lobby assuming they might be doing something back there. After waiting in the lobby for 40 minutes and not seeing a single worker i decided to leave and take my business elsewhere. The people here lack respect and took no value to my customer needs. If one wasnt the minimum this would be a 0 star review. As im sitting here someone else literally just walked up and the guy came to the front immediately. Matt, the owner is always welcoming and helpful and explains everything to me in a way I can understand (I do not know much about cars!). When my car needed serious repairs he even took the time to speak with my father in a different state and explain the problems to him! While running errands I realized I had a problem with my car and pulled into Chapman Tires to get the problem repaired. I spoke to the staff who stated they were busy and couldn't attend to the problem, which I understand, so I left my vehicle parked at Chapman Tire while I continued running errands in the shopping center. When I returned to my vehicle the staff had written "Parking for Chapman Tire Customers Only" on the ground at the rear of my vehicle. I find this to be truly unprofessional and disrespectful. My car was stuck at the nearby Starbucks. I had a corroded battery clamp that cracked off. Matt, the owner, walked over to my car and spent about 10 minutes in the sun (about 110 degrees) replacing the clamp, which wasn't easy because there wasn't much wire to work with. He then had me start the car and pull it into his shop so he could tighten the clamp properly and add a missing screw to the battery brace so that it was properly secured. Two of his employees pitched in to assist, one to hold a flashlight, another to locate a screw. Even though this was a relatively minor fix, he insisted that it be done right. Matt had me start the car just to make sure everything was working properly, and then he said, "You're all set." "I want to pay you," I said. "Don't worry about it," he said. "Just come see us again." Then he introduced himself, and though his hand was a little greasy, I extended mine to initiate a handshake. Although there are shops much closer to my home, I will definitely drive the 20 minutes to Chapman if I need an oil change, tires, or anything else. read more

I was shocked when I got to the front desk and my history of my car was already being reviewed. The car was immediately pulled in and the battery was exchanged. I was in and out in 12 minutes.
