We booked Ms. Rachel and it was a terrible experience. I was beyond disappointed. The character that showed up barely talked she did not talk to any of the children and did not smile. She didn't say "hi" when she arrived: she looked scared to be there. She played a "game" with the kids by taking out a flamingo and telling one kid to hide it and asked me to help her talk to the children. The kids couldn't hear her because she was speaking so low. When it was time to "face paint" she stood there helpless until my sister in law asked her if she needed something and she said she didn't have warm water. But I wonder if she hadn't asked would she have attempted to try. The only time she seemed enthusiastic and talked was when she was going and it was time to ask for her money. We recently booked a princess appearance with Characters IO for my daughter's birthday, and while there were some positive aspects to the experience, there were also disappointments that are worth sharing for others considering this company. To start with the positives: the princess looked fantastic and looked exactly like the character she was portraying. She brought a couple of books and coloring supplies, which the kids enjoyed doing alongside her, and she danced with the girls in a circle. However, one of the reasons we booked with this company was that the initial booking emails highlighted that the princess could provide simple face painting. Unfortunately, when she arrived, she did not bring any face paint. This was especially disappointing as face painting was my daughter's top request. During the event, the princess was fairly passive and required prompting--such as being asked to join in the singing during the cake cutting--rather than taking initiative during key moments. After the party, I followed up with the company to express my disappointment and to better understand what went wrong. They responded that face painting is not guaranteed per their terms and conditions. I explained that this was not clearly communicated and asked what I should have done differently--whether I should have confirmed in advance that our specific princess could provide face painting. Despite sending seven emails and five follow-up texts, I never received a clear response or guidance on this. So while the appearance was visually impressive, the lack of clear communication and follow-through on a key feature left us frustrated. If face painting is a priority for your event, I would recommend confirming it very clearly in advance--or booking with another company that can guarantee it. read more

I booked Cinderella for my 6yo birthday party and ahead of the booking, I messaged the company to ensure the princess that would be sent would be similar to the pictures on the website. Although the girl who played the princess was extremely nice, there were so many issues with the costume and hair. It just was not believable even for a six-year-old. She offered face painting services and took about 45 minutes to get through 10 kids when it really should only take 20 minutes. I also asked her to do Princess training lessons and wasn't able to offer much. She also was not able to sing either. read more

I had a wonderful experience working with this company and the Rapunzel performer they sent was superb. I actually hired the performer to spend an hour with my little granddaughter who is just learning about safety in the city for children. Between reading a book on safety for kids and dancing, arm painting, singing and games, I know my granddaughter had a ball and had someone other than her family tell her how important it is to learn safety tips. So it started a bit Rocky with them texting about an hour early giving us status updates and f due to traffic the we're about 15 min late. Despite that minor hiccup, it all went up hill from there. My daughter originally met spiderman at jump zone months prior and since demanded he be at her birthday. After he showed up he gave her special attention at the front before coming into the party, then he did pictures with her, and then came in to meet her friends. He made her an honorary super hero and have her a mask and cape which was so cute. Then played games for the next 45 minutes and all the kids were so into it, I had to interrupt to ensure we had time for spiderman to sing Happy birthday and cut the cake. He ended with additional photos with all the other kids and my daughter hasn't stopped taking about spiderman since! First time using them because the prior parties at went through a princess company but I must say they did a great job and I will for sure use them again. read more

I hired PPP for my daughter's birthday party this past weekend. They did an amazing job! They were on time, kept the kids engaged, and the costumes were theme park quality! They also helped sing happy birthday with the birthday girl! Now originally I was a bit nervous hiring actors online because have never used a service like this before. We had a great experience with Party Princess Productions- Chicago. From the moment we made the reservation till Spiderman and Captain America left- it was great. The actors stayed in character the whole time. I can only remember one of their names (mike) but they both were great. Mike was great as Captain America and I'm sure he would be great as other characters as well. The two worked well together. They kept the young children (ages 5 and under) engaged and participating. He was so patient with all the toddlers, he remembered their names (quite a feat with 10 toddlers!), took pictures with everyone, made endless amount of balloon swords (as the kids kept breaking them!) and was even early! We booked Anna and Elsa for out 4 year old daughter's birthday party. And Wow!!! Exceeded all of my expectations! Just amazing from start to finish. The princesses made a grand entrance and entertained 20 + kiddos flawlessly for over an hour. Story time, singing, dancing and games kept them all engaged the entire time. Elsa even sang a duet with my 4 year old and I was in happy tears with pride. (my daughter is on the shy side and it just blew me away that she would sing her heart out into a microphone in front of 50 people). But I suppose if your favorite princesses ask you to sing with them, you just go for it wholeheartedly! Many parents came up to me during and after the performance wanting to know where I found such amazing performers and were in awe at their costumes, singing and the amazing way they interacted with all the children. Upon drop off at school, my daughter's teacher asked about the party over the weekend "because the kids were so excited and kept talking about partying with Anna and Elsa."
