Came here in need of a haircut before a wedding. We were in town on vacation and I stumbled upon this place. Glad I did. Charlie the barber is super nice and patient. You can tell he takes his time with his haircuts and does not rush at all to get to his next client. He takes great pride in his work. This place is truly old school. I like It. Haircuts are 20 bucks and worth every penny. Other places charge that much and have you in and out in 5 minutes because they don't take their time and rush your haircut. First time visit and Charles did a great job in just 15 minutes. Cut was well even and shaped very well. Will be back as Felton CA has no barber shops these days. Interesting small shopping center with a history. Camp Evers as It was called in the 1950's was the place the Pearless bus stopped from Oakland then on to Santa Cruz. The inside has rich wood like going back to that time era. So much better then going to a cheap franchise fast cut place with no place to park with un skilled foreign barbers that don't speak much English. Normally I have to drag my son to get his hair cut after begging him to for a month (of course being 9 he has no desire to maintain his hair). The owner stayed late to squeeze him in. After expertly cutting it, he then styled it- slicked it with gel to the side. For the first time ever my son looked in the mirror and said woah I like it! Made me go get him gel so he can style his hair in the morning and show off his stylin new do at school. First of all the picture of the guy is NOT Charles. I was pleased with the cut I got yesterday, but it still wasn't a high n' tight after second try. The most disappointing thing was that though straight razor shaves are advertised, he only does them by appointment and after hours. Today I went to Johnny's and got the BEST high n' tight and straight razor shave. read more

Went to Charles' for the first time today. Got an excellent haircut, actually one of the best if not the best I ever had. My wife loved it. I found Charles to be friendly, and we had quite a pleasant conversation. Will be going there from now on. Very happy to have found a permanent barber. My wife told me she had been taking our son there for the past few months. He always comes home with a great cut, and looks handsome. My wife tells me Charles is really good with kids. My son is particular and for him to want to go back to have Charles cut his hair says a lot. I have been going to this same barbershop Since I was 4 years old. Granted I am only 16, but Charles and his shop are amazing. Every time I come in for a hair cut myself and many others are treated with a friendly smile and a great conversation. I'm treated as an equal and like famlily here . There are so many positives to this barbershop . But the best is the quality of the haircuts. He takes his time and makes shure the cut is exactly what you want. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else for a haircut. The staff was rude and inconsiderate. The person cutting my hair seemed to put little effort into it, and snapped at me when I asked him to correct something (even though I asked politely and apologized for the inconvenience). Unsurprisingly, the quality of the haircut itself was quite poor. Incidentally, my father has gone to this place in the past, and he had an equally unpleasant experience (unfortunately, I only learned this after I came back). read more
