Except....they wanted to do X-rays of my mouth, and upsell me new dentures. I could tell that all I was to them is a sack of cash! Personally, I don't understand why they would need to do X-rays when the problem is a removable prosthetic device not part of my natural body. Sorry, but I don't willingly sign up to have my body dosed with radiation (unless there's a damn good reason to do so!). When I told them I'm not comfortable doing X-rays, I was told "it's non-negotiable". EFD didn't do any of that. I went in, dropped off the denture, and picked it up the next day. Great customer service. No hassles, no upselling. If and when I need new dentures, they will be my go-to. They did a great job on the repair.

When I made the appointment they told me they were checking my Insurance to verify everything would be good for my intake appointment. After my intake appointment I received a bill for the full price of the intake appointment. My insurance told me they (and most Insurances) don't approve 2D photos unless there is a medical necessity for them and that they billed the intake as a "Doctor Exam" which I had met my amount of Doctor Exams for the year of 2025. When I called them, I was told they only verify the Insurance would be accepted and they don't check to ensure insurance will cover the appointment, which is completely different than what I was told when I scheduled the appointment. So now I am on the hook for $200 and I am not even going to use them because of their shady business practices. I am a real client and a real reviewer, I have no clue why my location says California, I am in Palmetto, FL

I was released from her practice because her hygienist recommended a service and at the time I did not feel that I needed it and could not afford it. She basically abandoned me. If you follow the story, she will be reported to the Florida Board of dentistry. There is so much more to the story and she has failed to meet her ethical obligations that I guess she forgot because it was so long ago when she took an oath . I'm not sure if she submits a form to everyone to fill out to see if they're a good fit for her practice. What does a good fit even mean ,if anyone knows please reach out to me and educate me. It's a shame that some doctors and Dentist feel that they have the power over a patient and they can just abuse that power and get away with it. All new office staff came with the new dentist (Dr Moates) and they are not kind nor professional. My daughter had a composite put on her front tooth for covering a hypoplasia spot. Dr Moates said it was a simple fix and was absolutely positive it would cover the discoloration. He began to grind down the area and added the composite then grinded it again to smooth it down which took off the composite color that he had added. He looked at me and said "sorry I thought it was going to work but she can come back and I'll try it again". He never once asked my daughter if she could feel it when he was grinding on the tooth and she later told me she could so of course she's frightened to go back for him to "try it again". During my visit- he voiced his opinion that he did not agree with the small piece of wiring (permanent retainer) put in by Dr Sellepan, after having Invisalign, so he refused to re-do it and referred me to an orthodontist because he said he doesn't do that type of stuff. I called the office about 15 min later -regarding the experience my daughter had and that I thought it was unfair my insurance was charged and I had to pay a fee on top of it. I asked to speak to the office manager, the office staff blatantly lied and said she had left an hour ago- when she was there before we had left. She told me she would have her call me back, which never happened. I called the next week, the office manager was kind and said she would file a dispute but she doubted it would go anywhere because the service was provided even though the outcome wasn't what the dentist so confidently claimed would work. She said she'd call me back when she got a response about the dispute and she never did. I will never go back to that office for the lack of professionalism of staff and poor care of the dentist.

I went in for a tooth problem and after taking a full mouth x-ray and exam they told me it was going to cost over $7000 for everything. I asked them to fix the problem tooth first and they said they couldn't until I went thru a deep cleaning which was the most expensive procedure and my insurance didn't even cover that. My significant other went in for a cleaning (which was covered by his insurance) and they presented him a list of other things that they wanted him to sign first and pay. When he asked what's this for, they told him his insurance didn't pay for this. He got up out of the chair and walked out. We both are seeing a FABULOUS dentist which isn't taking our insurance or us for a ride. STAY AWAY FROM BAYVIEW DENTAL!!! Go to Keyser Dental in Bradenton instead.
