Ben was initially responsive and provided a quote the next day. He mentioned we would schedule repairs within three weeks. As that time approached, Ben informed me that some employees were out with Covid, pushing the job back, which I understood. He then rescheduled for July 31. However, on the morning of the 31st, Ben canceled again due to a larger job, saying he would reschedule within three and a half weeks. I expressed my frustration but agreed to work with him. Ben promised to update me by September 9. When I hadn't heard from him by that date, I followed up and learned he was still behind due to more illnesses but would schedule my job by the end of September. By the end of September, I reached out again and was told he would come on October 7. On October 4, Ben canceled once more for another job, rescheduling for October 29. The day before, I checked in, only to find he had again prioritized another job and canceled. We have decided not to work with him anymore, feeling misled by his repeated delays. This experience raises concerns about potential damages due to the time wasted. A business should prioritize its customers better than this. Ben is in my opinion one of the most unprofessional business owners out there and i would never recommend doing business with him or his company. (The job will never get done).

For what seemed like a relatively straightforward repair, the price felt extremely excessive, and I walked away feeling like I had been taken advantage of. On top of that, they charged me $200 for "leak detection," even though I told them from the beginning that I had a broken water line. I already knew where the problem was, so I was extremely frustrated to see a $200 leak-detection charge added to my bill. The technician also told me that repairing or replacing the drywall he had to cut open to access the water line was not his responsibility. I called the Florence office for service, but they sent a technician from Lexington and then charged me an additional $50 travel fee. I don't understand why I should have to pay a travel fee because they chose to send someone from another city. When I requested an itemized invoice explaining exactly what I was being charged for, it took several hours for them to provide one. Overall, I feel that I paid an outrageous amount of money for the work that was performed and was nickel-and-dimed with additional charges. I will never use Roto-Rooter again. Based on my experience, I strongly recommend getting quotes from reputable local plumbers before agreeing to their pricing. There are many great local small businesses that will provide better service at a much more reasonable price.
