It's frustrating to see our tax dollars being spent on building additional pickleball courts when the existing courts are already in good condition, while the children's playground continues to be neglected. Many of the playground features that made this park a great place for families are broken, gated off, or unusable. The swings are damaged, equipment is closed off, and the overall play area is no longer what it once was for the kids in our community. Instead of investing in more of something that isn't broken, why not focus on repairing and improving the amenities that families actually rely on? Our children deserve a safe, clean, and fully functional place to play. Parks should be places where families can gather and kids can enjoy themselves, not areas filled with broken equipment and restricted access. I hope the city considers prioritizing the maintenance and restoration of the playground so this park can once again be a welcoming space for everyone.

This is one of the the better parks, in my opinion. The fields are pretty well maintained, and there is a walking path around said fields that always has people on it. The grounds also have a play area, tennis/pickleball courts, gym, stage for events, batting cages, roller hockey rink and more. Saturdays is farmer's market. This one is huge!!! This also means the large parking lot which usually has spaces gets packed. I visit this park weekly. Overall, it's great.

This is a great park to come on your own or with your family. I used to meet my friend after work to walk. One full lap around is about 0.91 mile. At any given day or time you will see walkers, joggers, and people using the exercise apparatus. In the mornings there are Zumba classes and tai chi. I organized a play date with my LO's friends and they all had so much fun! We were there for three hours! The playground has a little kids side and a bigger kids side. There are picnic tables close by. There is also a treehouse that is super cool and it's a great way for the littles to burn off calories. There are tennis courts and I'm sure you can also play pickle ball. There is also adult softball leagues that play in the evening. Summertime there are movies in the park located at the outdoor amphitheater. I think they even had Shakespeare in the park once. And I can't forget the free Southern California Live Steamers Miniature Railroad train rides on certain Saturdays and Sundays of the month. Wilson park is a great place to come visit because there really is something for everyone.

Charles H. Wilson Park is a beautiful and spacious place to bring the family. There's so much to do walking trails, open grassy areas, sports courts. It's usually clean and well-maintained. The only downside is the playground equipment, I don't know who comes up with such dangerous equipment. some parts feel a bit unsafe especially for younger kids. I still love coming here, but I do keep a close eye when my kids are on the play structures.

I don't go to Torrance often so it was very interesting to check out this area and park. I haven't looked up who Charles Wilson was yet and I didn't see a plaque about him anywhere. Update: I researched Charles Wilson and found out he was the US Congress representative for Torrance. This is a large busy park with all the bells and whistles-indoor sports center, large free outdoor gym with more machines than most of this type, golf center, large walking trail. It's a very practical, convenient park. What I didn't like is grass was really worn down, dilapidated parking lot and the whole design is boring just a big rectangle. Recommended.

There's a community garden here with free mulch. There's a basketball court as well. I noticed lots of folks doing tai chi here. I also noticed groups of nannies meeting up here with their kids. There's no sand, dirt or wood chips at the playground area. The bad: One of the four swings could've used WD40. It was very squeaky. There was a man on the bench by the playground alone with a book who looked to be video recording the playground. I wasn't sure if it was innocent and he was potentially just video chatting with someone and showing them where he was but I was suspicious that a man would come alone and choose a bench by the loud children's play area to read rather than sit at one of the many other benches further away for a quiet space to read. The interesting: There's plenty of street parking. The playground is flat.

There are also walking paths that are great for riding bikes and scooters. The play area is pretty small for such a large park but it has the basic essentials and the kids had fun. [Review #831] 2024-032…read more I forgot that we visited Paradise Park years ago... I think it was a walking field trip from H's daycare/preschool: Leap & Bound Academy? My husband wanted to come back & visit a different park, & this one has some different & interesting play structures, including Saturn, train, & submarine. It does have your standard playground equipment; monkey bars, slide, swings, etc. that separates the big kids from the little ones for safety. The park has a large grassy field for frisbee, soccer, or just running around playing tag. And plenty of trees for shade! The park seems dog-friendly as we spotted several dog walkers during our playtime. There's a shaded picnic area for you to hold a small party, or hang out with friends; with picnic tables & BBQ grills spread out through the park. With the lack of food traffic, the BBQ grills & picnic tables could used some maintenance (rusted grills) &/or clean-up (cobwebs on grills, bird poop on tables). There's a tennis court somewhere; I haven't been but another reviewer posted a pic of the courts. And restrooms are available... again, don't know where but a couple reviewers mentioned they're near the tennis courts; however, there's no stall doors & they're dirty. Oh no! There's no parking lot that I'm aware of, but there's enough street parking around the park's perimeter. Not our ideal park due to its distance from home, but a fun layover when we wanted something different.
