[Review #831] 2024-032 I forgot that we visited Paradise Park years ago... I think it was a walking field trip from H's daycare/preschool: Leap & Bound Academy? My husband wanted to come back & visit a different park, & this one has some different & interesting play structures, including Saturn, train, & submarine. It does have your standard playground equipment; monkey bars, slide, swings, etc. that separates the big kids from the little ones for safety. The park has a large grassy field for frisbee, soccer, or just running around playing tag. And plenty of trees for shade! The park seems dog-friendly as we spotted several dog walkers during our playtime. There's a shaded picnic area for you to hold a small party, or hang out with friends; with picnic tables & BBQ grills spread out through the park. With the lack of food traffic, the BBQ grills & picnic tables could used some maintenance (rusted grills) &/or clean-up (cobwebs on grills, bird poop on tables). There's a tennis court somewhere; I haven't been but another reviewer posted a pic of the courts. And restrooms are available... again, don't know where but a couple reviewers mentioned they're near the tennis courts; however, there's no stall doors & they're dirty. Oh no! There's no parking lot that I'm aware of, but there's enough street parking around the park's perimeter. Not our ideal park due to its distance from home, but a fun layover when we wanted something different. read more

Very nice park in Torrance with some nice picnic areas as well as 2 tennis courts. Parking is just street parking but pretty easy to find even on weekends. Playground equipment is nice and seems to be well maintained. They have lots of open areas to play soccer, frisbee, etc. read more

We spent Mother's Day at this park having a bbq for 20+ people and to our surprise, it was pretty empty. This park is big and has a lot of potential. It just really needs to be cleaned up and the kids play ground needs to be repainted and fixed. The bbq grills were so so rusty and had bird poop/ webs all over them. I feel like this park is neglected by the city but it really does have potential if it were just cleaned up. read more

I discovered it by "accident". The towering trees are the park's best feature, for me. 4.25 Stars This is a very cute park with lots of fun activities for the kids. There is a grown-up exercise area and tennis courts as well. The unique thing about this park is the large train, submarine and planet structures for the kids to explore. They also have 2 sizable play structures. The park felt safe in a nice part of Torrance. The other parents at the park were very friendly. There are many picnic tables and easy parking. It seems like a popular park even early on a Friday morning. The .75 deduction is because my son was practically black when we left this park. The sand is very dirty. We go to sandy parks all the time, but this sand is the dirtiest we have encountered. His legs looked like he was rolling in dirt instead of playing in sand. read more

Fond memories I've been going to this park ever since we moved into torrance (1998). Never too old to enjoy yourself there. There is a a good amount of things to do. As a child, I enjoyed the the slides and the merry go round (which no longer exists :/) there is a sandbox as well. The trees were meant to be climbed! At least, i thought so. As a teenager, I liked going to the swings with friends and having the longest conversations As an adult, there is a big grass field to play volleyball, soccer, frisbee, etc. There is a tennis court near the bathrooms too! (Btw, the bathrooms aren't the greatest) The place is good to have parties. My brother and i have had a couple of birthday parties there. You need to reserve the picnic area as early as possible. My dad would be there at 5AM to get the spot. 7AM is waaaaay too late. It will be gone by then if it's a saturday. There are no basketball courts, but the park is right next to anza elementary which a public school where there are basketball courts to use. You cannot use the restrooms there. Dogs are always welcome. Just please clean up after them! There is a man who goes there a lot and reads books. I've seen him a good amount of times growing up and he's completely harmless. He just goes under a nice shady tree and reads his book. Who wouldn't want to do that??? read more

Located adjacent to Anza Elementary School, the park is enjoyed by many children on a daily basis. The park boasts two tennis courts that are for public use and also host lessons. They recently remodeled the picnic / barbecue area within the last year or so and it is much nicer. Perfect for a birthday party. The bathrooms are avoidable. They are not very clean and do not have stall doors the last time I went in there. I haven't been inside them for a while and for good reason. There are plenty of swings and slides and even a workout area. The classic favorites of the park are the submarine, saturn, and train that kids have enjoyed for a long time. For the Pokémon Go-ers, the corner with the park sign is a Poke Stop and there is another one right next to it at the school where the kindergarders get out. For Geocachers, there's one here! I won't say where though! The park is very dark at night at is not particularly inviting. It could use some new brighter lights. read more

I love taking my two little girls here when school gets out.. they have an old school playground sewt with an assortment of monkeybars and then a newer huge setup with twisty slides and ladders.. also there are like 4 sets of swings tennis courts and benches and bbqs for picnics read more

The Good - very private and quiet, large open grass area, beautiful big old trees (some fallen), covered picnic areas with plenty seating and electric outlets. Not one but several kids play areas. The Bad - very windy (seriously, like a wind tunnel) and even cold on summer days, long walk to bathroom for kiddos, no parking lot but parallel parking on residential streets. The Ugly - bathroom stalls with no doors and no mirrors and no tissues and too yukky to even rinse your hands! read more

Yes, this park is always colder and windier than the other parks in the area. We came to this park for several birthday parties, it's very quiet and secluded. I never get tired of looking at that nice path made from mosaic tiles over by the rest room. read more

this is a pretty good park. the only bad thing is that you cant play golf here. for a month straight after work i would bring my golf clubs here in hopes that they finally finished installing the driving range, but i learned later that they were actually just fixing the tennis court lights. golf is a very good sport, i wish they would add it to this park, because then i would come here more often. they do have tennis here though, if youre into that. i always thought golf was better than tennis, but i guess the city disagrees. i have been golfing 4 times before, so i know a little bit about it, they could definitely fit golf into the large grassy area, just saying. overall this park gets a B+. read more
