He had my husband on a heart monitor and he was scheduled for a review of the results. My husband was not feeling well and I called Dr Desai who was less than helpful stating if I thought he should go to the hospital I should take him. I would not recommend this doctor to anyone! Needless to say my husband did end up in the hospital and he was in Afib!

For some reason, they will tell you you are not entitled to your maintenance medication, regardless if you stop taking it, it could be very bad for you, unless you submit to making a new appointment. They will tell you that this is the law even though you have seen the doctor within the past 6 months. Unfortunately, the receptionists think that they are the doctor and it is such a shame that they basically extort you just to get a refill on medication that is keeping you alive. Perhaps they should take a class on law and learn that only the doctor or his nurse make decisions on what medication you need and to stay alive, you should be granted your prescription refill regardless of when your next appointment is scheduled. It is almost like they are making people come in for an appointment just to bill the insurance even though you have seen the doctor for your yearly physical within the past 3-6 months. This happens just about every time you call the office for a refill on your maintenance medication. They will say, "we can't give you a refill unless you come in for an appointment." I would understand if you were asking for a controlled substance, but blood pressure medication, or anti anxiety medication? Really? Mind you, if you happen to miss an appointment, the receptionist " Ginny" will surely hunt you down by calling your home, cell, mother, father, wife, kids, cell phone, work phone, or the president if she can't find you. Another member of his staff actually told my wife to " listen to me little girl", although she is in her late 40's and went so far as to call her a " bitch" on the telephone, her name was "Anne". These people are affecting the practice of a very well established and fine doctor who is very caring. I am surprised he has not replaced them or reprimanded them for this behavior. It is a shame that this great doctor's staff has made it so difficult on patients that they are actually afraid or anxious to call the office for a refill on your prescription. Apprehension is something that cardiac patients can do without. If you want a great doctor see Dr. Kaplan, but beware the office staff. They may just kill you with rudeness.

On 4/11 entered ED was left in a room no call bell had to yell at people passing the room to go to…read morebathroom. X-rays taken they claimed no break of right elbow - gave me 2 Tylenol and told me I could leave - did not show me where to get out of there - ended getting lost finally person who took payment walked me out to my waiting ride. Had no sling or anything to stablize the arm. Days later went to PCP who did another x-ray and guess what. The elbow was broken. Due to time between leaving that hospital broken bone had shifted requiring surgery which I now have plates in place to correct the break that they dropped the ball on

The Nurse Practitioner is very nice but even the ladies who work in the office are rude. If you go for an annual exam they make you come back and do it again in 6 months regardless of results. I think this is a way to get more money out of you and your insurance company. Do yourself a favor and find another doctor who can make the experience at least a little less miserable.
