This pains me to do this as a customer of 15 years at this practice but this is NOT the same…read morepractice I came into. Dr. Putt has been spending too much time on the golf course (at least that is the explanation by the technicians to why I have not seen him the last 5 years). The front desk now is incredibly rude and condescending. If you don't have the right insurance, get out, if you have a question, we don't have time for this. The last hygenist I saw was yelling at me the entire time, and telling me all about how much her life sucks. The hygenist I saw for many years who was amazing left the practice unfortunately. And when I first joined they were willing to work with me on a dental plan that works for me. Now it is aggressive treatment and pressure sells that requires X-rays every 6 months and deep cleanings. If you don't like it, I was told by the front desk to GET OUT. Ok you got your wish, good riddance.

Do yourself a favor and switch dentists before making your next appointment. My entire family has…read morebeen clients of Wayland Dental for over a decade, and they are NOT the same practice. I just took a new job and have to move out of state. I was overdue for an appointment and worked with the team to squeeze in before my move. They have a new receptionist team that is incapable of running this business. They rescheduled and kept playing musical chairs with their clients appointments trying to move them around. I just went in for my appointment finally, a few days before my move- for them to tell me they do not take BCBS anymore and would charge me $450 for the appointment. When asked why I wasn't notified of this , they claim they had Delta Dental on file for me. (Later when I called back- I told them my appointment in December with BCBS and they confirmed that is who they billed out.) For months I've received emails from them telling me I was due for an appointment and to call and schedule. NOTHING about no longer accepting BCBS. I left the office so upset and called back to speak with the supervisor, Crystal. She was just as incompetent as her team. She said "if it was that big of a deal, they would have billed out to BCBS and had me mail them the check..." when I clarified that she meant bill, she corrected and said check. She wanted me to pay my insurance for seeing them out of network, and then wanted me to pay THEM whatever portion of my appointment that insurance would cover... wow they truly care about the customer... I requested a call back from Dr. Putt and plan on telling him what a disaster his team has become. When it was him and his one front desk receptionist, they might have been short handed- but they were good and actually cared and had their sh*t more together than they do now. Now I have wasted time making appointments, going to an appointment I had to leave, talking to them, crying in my car, and writing this post- all to be moving out of state with a new job, stressed as can be, and overdue for a dental appointment (after getting completely screwed over by the practice my family and I have given business to for over a decade.) I am beyond upset, and cannot advise others more to find a different dentist- this is NOT the same practice that it used to be.

Very much like others(Whom have commented) the office staff leaves MUCH to be desired. I paid my bill in full for the amount i expected and had been told. That was my last visit in Sept. In February i received a email saying i owed 470.00 for a CT scan. I paid in full what i was told to pay in Sept. I contacted the office and asked why the first i was hearing about this was 5 months later and the response was i owe the money. I told them i paid in full I paid 5500+ on my final visit. Today i received a call from a collection agency saying i had been delinquent since Sept. and payment was due in full. I pay my bills, excellent credit score and to be sent to a collection agency and effect my credit over there shooty billing is a place i would stay far away from. I also will be in touch with my referring dentist. I hope they enjoy the $470.00 dollars as i am hopeful this will help others not get caught in what seems to be a common sneaky pratice.

I chose to bring my daughter to this practice on the recommendation of our Orthodontist for a…read moresurgical procedure as part of the work with her braces. Her recovery has been good, with no complications to speak of (only two weeks in at time of writing this). So the services provided by Dr. Wardius appear to have met expectations. Unfortunately, the office experience left something to be desired. While a comfortable and soothing ambiance make for nice experience, day of, I was disappointed with poor communication with the office staff around the costs involved. After completing our consult visit and scheduling the surgery I asked for a cost estimate and was presented with expected costs, based on expected insurance coverages. Two weeks later these were updated based on an uncovered service performed at the consult (a CT scan), and I was provided what I understood to be final numbers (assuming that nothing would change during the procedure that would require additional services or coverage-wise from insurance). On the day of the procedure, everything proceeds as expected. No additional services needed or performed and payment requested matches the estimate I had been provided. Two weeks later I am now being charged for a service (the CT scan) that was supposed to have already been accounted for, as I was told that it had been, two weeks prior to the procedure. But they are telling me that I mis-read the email when they said "The balance was added to the patient account." If so, that estimate should reflect that amount. When a customer is quoted a price for promised services to be rendered, and those exact services are what is completed, then that price shouldn't change after the fact. Trying to discuss this with the office manager was the final straw as she was more interested in expediting the call, crossing it off her to-do list and getting off the phone than to honestly hear the concern and frustration that a client had with their experience. This "problem customer" as I am sure to be referenced as behind their closed doors, could have been a learning experience for the team so that they could better understand how to service their customer's needs. Instead it was so much more transactional and disappointing. I will be sure to pass this experience back to the original referring office and to find another practice for my son when he is due up in the coming years.

A Treasure in the Suburbs…read more I believe that we should take advantage of the rich resources where we live - and because Boston is known for its fine culture, outstanding universities, state of the art medical facilities and innovative dental procedures, I have always opted for doctors and dentists (and shopping excursions!) in the city. That changed when a Boston dentist referred me to Dr. Mario Gatti. I learned the hard way that a general dentist is not the one to go for a crown or implants because it is not something he does all day and does not have the extra training needed to become Board Certified. I was also told that Dr. Gatti specialized in implants as well so I decided to give it a shot. I called Dr. Gatti, at his office in Natick, Chang Dental Group and scheduled an appointment. From the moment I met Dr. Gatti, he made me feel extremely comfortable as he patiently listened to my complex dental history. He thoroughly discussed the various options he felt were appropriate and after much time and consideration, he suggested that I should go home and think about the options he had presented to me and he would put together a treatment plan that he felt would best meet my needs. He allowed me to take a deep breath and never put any pressure on me to make a decision. He also gave me his cell phone number and told me to get in touch with him at any time if I had additional questions or concerns as there was much information to digest. This in and of itself spoke volumes about his integrity and concern. I had brought my daughter with me as a second set of ears and he welcomed her questions and concerns. His professional demeanor was quite impressive as were the credentials on his wall. Board Certified Prosthodontist, Oral Surgeon, and Implant Specialist all wrapped up in one, plus the convenience of being in the suburbs and not having to drive back and forth to Boston gave me a lot to think about. We scheduled another appointment and I did take him up on his offer to address any concerns before that appointment. I can tell you that Dr. Gatti has a brilliant mind, hands of gold and a compassionate heart. His gentle technique and expertise in prosthodontics, surgical procedures and implants are second to none! His assistant, Pam, is an added bonus! I whole heartedly recommend Dr. Gatti and am so thrilled that I found him!

I had just suffered through a week of hell from a different practice, where they botched the extraction of a tooth by failing to remove it completely, not inserting the bone graft properly (it came out), and leading to a hole in my sinus. Dr. Kramer did a full periodontal exam, including a CT scan, and showed me the damage done by the other practice. I was actually relieved because I had had such a horrible week of pain, lack of sleep, etc.. He then scheduled me for the soonest surgery possible, even though it meant him and his staff staying late. I'd never been super anxious about dental work before, but because of the recent trauma, I was incredibly anxious. I shouldn't have been. Dr. Kramer did the procedure without a hitch. I have had no postoperative complications in the two days since. Their professionalism is so appreciated. The fact that they're funny as well is a bonus. Great people!

I understand she is working on joining another practice. I would keep a lookout and try to sign on to wherever she lands. I've been a patient of Dr. Kern for over 20 years. She has done routine cleanings, x-rays, light restorative work for chipped teeth and made molds and maintained nighttime mouthguards for me. Dr. Kern takes incredible pride in her work, is motivated to employ the most useful and modern technology in her work, and will explain in detail why she is making the dental recommendations she offers for your situation. By the way, she is also always available by cell or text, which has come in handy more than a few times. I was so disappointed when she had to curtail all but emergency work during COVID and I'm sad that her office will not be reopening. Any practice would be lucky to have both her skills and her loyal patient base. I'm keeping an eye out for her new home and hope to back in her great care soon.
