This location is staffed with some really patient, friendly, well-trained, and knowledgeable folks that will explain things to you and help you out. I just learned of Schwab's High Yield Investor Checking account this afternoon as I was researching the best cards to carry while traveling abroad- and it sounds *amazing*! Schwab's checking/debit card comes with free ATM withdrawals around the world (the fees are refunded to your account), and regular debit purchases at stores and stuff as I was told have no FOREX (foreign exchange) fees. I had a snaffoo with the online registration (which is actually super simple), so I called their 24 hour helpline-- I was amazed I didn't get someone in a foreign country. The broker I was on the phone with was a real person, and he was so darn cool and I can't begin to tell you how helpful he was. ***Total call time: 1 HOUR 45 MINUTES of him giving me the 411***. Isn't that crazy? He walked me through registration, confirmed on his end that I was set to go, explained the processes of how the brokerage-checking account I signed up for works, how deposits work, how to expedite my checking card coming in the mail because I'm going on a trip soon-- and then.. The best Investing 101 lesson I've ever had. I took these classes in college but it all went over my head. He explained investment strategies, the definitions of everything, how to use their online tools-- basically demystified something I tend to stay away from dealing with, and made asking questions really easy. ... I don't remember his name, but (I think) he works in the Indianapolis office. and that he was 24 and super smart. I really felt like I have having an over the phone class tutor who was really supportive and patient. Best customer service I've ever had. I called back in to try to ask that he gets sort of recognition (each time you call you may get a call center in a different city) so they are going to track him down. Run not walk from this bank/brokerage firm. The horror stories about their conduct and policies are numerous and varied. https://www.consumeraffairs.com/finance/schwab.html Plus- they run a hard credit check! when you open your account. I did not find them not be candid of forthcoming (without prompting) when I contacted them. The low fees are great if you are one of the few who have very simple needs, perfect credit, and never have a customer service dispute. The Indy branch may be friendly, but the org. as a whole is heartless. Due to their seemingly benign reputation contrasting with the actual experience, I am very traumatized about continuing in my search for a new bank. read more

Horrible Company, terrible procedures, .... worst sense of customer service. Normally if u forget your account password, they take your email & if it matches your established email, they send u a rest password link & u rest your password. Charles Schawb locked me even after taking my email in requesting a reset password, & asked me to call customer service .... CUSTOMER SERVICE is the word that these people had no sense of. After asking tens of questions, finally all three asked me to go to nearest Schwab with an ID and they had o answer to my question of why their company policy is different than any other co. procedure. I talked to Blake (Male), Later to his supervisor, Veromima Markam, and lastly her supervisor, Ben on the April 14th, requesting to reset the password as the Schwab web site was requesting me to do and them, just repeating their excuses for their lack of competencies in correcting their bad procedures. Blake,his supervisor; Veronima Harkam and Ben had no desire to help me to a 1099 emailed to me. Ben was the worst of them in taking care of this issue. Now I have to drive to branch location to get my 1099 to do my taxes in time. I wish I had never this account & I'm resolved to stop giving them anything at all. read more
