When I see an exchange from OCU to a troubled customer stating that the reason OCU exists is BECAUSE OF CUSTOMERS banking there that makes me say EXACTLY... too many banks do NOT get that... OCU gets that! When I call & get Kali or Maddie it's always a delight to just hear their voice. Why? We had baby bonds to cash, coins to cash, Canadian money to exchange, and had to add my husband to my account. We were greeted right away with multiple employees ready to help. For a Saturday they were all so happy and ready to assist. We had to add my husband to my account first so we waited a few moments for a lobby rep. Thana (might have her name wrong) helped us with everything! She was so helpful and happy to help us out with our random requests. I loved that they were open on a Saturday and so willing to help. It was also a coworkers birthday and they all sang to her and were in great spirits. It definitely was a great environment and I felt very taken care of! Great customer service and I am happy to go back!

Rather than providing assistance or directing me to someone who could help, I felt as though I was being interrogated about why I needed the information. The tone of the conversation was dismissive and lacked the courtesy and respect that customers deserve. Customer service should be built on professionalism, patience, and respect. Even when information cannot be provided, there is a respectful way to communicate that to customers. Based on this experience, I was left feeling frustrated and undervalued. I hope management reviews customer service standards and provides additional training to ensure future customers are treated with dignity and respect.

I have to transfer my money into a different bank because Heritage doesn't have branches in many places. It can be hard transferring money in/out because it's not recognized by some payers, for example dental insurance will not automatically take payment from Heritage.

However, the pet insurance company they are marketing and profiting from is Odie. Odie has an F rating on BBB, a horrible rating on Trust Pilot, and a miserable rating on Yelp! There are MANY unhappy clients of Odie, yet the credit union seems to brush this off as nearly meaningless, a thing of the past. I feel WSECU is misleading its loyal members to make money rather than serving the members' best interests. In my view WSECU should always be truthful, accurate, honest, perform due diligence on the insurance products they sell, and guide their members in making well informed decisions about insurance as they do in other areas of business. After decades of being a member, this credit union has lost my trust and respect. The board of directors has been informed. And please, no patronizing or insincere replies are needed here WSECU.

Staff interrupted the meeting to try to get the signature but the person would not come out. I was told to have a seat for a minimum of 20 minutes. Unacceptable. If you are open you should be open for all offered services. I left and went to a different branch. If this ever happens again at any bofa I will close my account with them.

Explaining things to Diana, she said "I have a simple answer". Within minutes she had it all sorted and the title company was satisfied. Her experience and knowledge really showed. Perhaps that may explain why she is an officer in the bank at her young age (I am 74 so every one is young!). And, I might add, very pleasant to work with. Like old time, home town, banking!!!

I am a 33 year active duty military member who applied for a Home loan with Olympic Federal Credit…read moreUnion. I have a 780+ credit score and was putting 20% down. I locked my loan in at 4.1%, just before the feds raised rates again the next week. We had just paid for and received the $900 appraisal (later we found out that an appraisal wasn't even required on a home that was only a year old). At this point, they now wouldn't do my loan without some property clean up of old vehicles, a home inspection, and a requirement to put funds in escrow to do cosmetic repairs in the home, even though the home had just received a certificate of occupancy in 2021. I was also told by my loan officer, Rachel Rudenski, that her team had a meeting and the consensus was "this really isn't the property that they want to have a mortgage with." We truly believe all of this was done so that they simply did not have to to honor the 4.1% rate...coincidently enough, rates had rose to +5% by this time. Subsequently, we went to another lender with the same appraisal (which they said wasn't even required) the next day and closed in less than 2 weeks... Fairway Independent Mortgage Corporation to the rescue!! Karen Orr was great! I would advise anyone trying to get a home loan to think twice about using Olympic Federal Credit Union. It is my opinion that they are more interested in maximizing profit rather than securing a loan for someone that is exceptionally qualified. You may find yourself incurring numerous additional costs, at a higher interest, and an unusually long time to close. Consumer beware.
