I was referred to Capital Good Fund by an online car search site, and I was skeptical at first. My…read morecredit and income isn't excellent, but I'm a decent, hardworking person and decided to give them a chance to help me. There were so many other outfits offering short-term financing, my email inbox was being bombarded with offers with very high interest rates in the fine print. I was really concerned about getting ripped off. I'm glad I was able to get a pre-approval letter from Capital Good Fund. I had all the documents, but sometimes their communication about specifically what they needed wasn't clear in the first instance, but they were patient until I was able to provide them with what they needed to secure my loan approval. It was a longer process than I expected; it took more than a few weeks after I signed a purchase agreement with a dealership to close the loan, but I am certain a hasty process to get financing through the dealership would have resulted in a financially damaging decision. I was concerned at the end of the process with Capital Good Fund that a "mistake" which increased the expected interest rate of the loan over what I expected from the pre-approval letter was going to break the deal. They apologized and corrected the error, but I'm not sure what they would have done had I signed the incorrect contract. In summary, get all your documents (paystubs, utility bills, license), get pre-approved, shop around to get a good price on the car you want, get your insurance binder with the lender as lienholder, make sure you demand a copy of the signed sales agreement, and most of all, don't make the mistake I did of handing over your trade and taking delivery of the car until the loan is closed, even if you have to wait a while, it will only make you nervous until you sign, and the dealer will likely hound you for delays you have no control over. It probably would have been better to tell the dealer I didn't need their "backup" financing, which will cost you thousands more if you end up needing it. If the dealer pressures you to do otherwise, buy your car somewhere else. Good luck, and thanks Capital Good Fund for helping me meet my goals.

I mean, Capital GF gave me financing for a car when no one else would due to my credit. The…read moreinterest rate is high, and I didn't have too many problems on my credit that I didn't get fixed quickly, but again, almost every other loan grantor was giving me a hard time, and CGF didn't. I can't say that their process was very timely (the dealership called me every day for three weeks asking when they were going to get paid), but as far as the other review purporting them to be a scam, I just don't see it. I mean, if your credit is completely destroyed or your income isn't so great, then they would be foolish to loan you money. Overall, a pretty good company. I can't speak for every situation, but they helped me out in a time of need and I've recommended my friends to them based on their no BS methods. I can't say that I'll run to them the next time that I need a loan if they can't offer me a lower interest rate, but if they can, they have my business for sure.

When I became self-employed, I opened up a Health Savings Account to reduce my tax bill. I use my HSA like a checking account: Money goes in monthly for the tax deduction, and money comes out the same month to pay my health care premiums. However, in Sept, Fidelity without prior notice, decided to delay my ability to withdraw funds. In the past I was able to xfer funds back to my checking account one week after the contribution. Fidelity now wants me to wait over three weeks to xfer the money back: Thats total BS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I filed a complaint with Fidelity's regulator, and I am looking to move my HSA elsewhere. I am not going to do business with an unethical company that changes the rules without prior notice. Their change negatively impacts my cash flow.

The company was established in 1946 and is one of the largest asset managers in the world with $4.5 trillion in assets under management, now as of December 2021 their assets under administration amounts to $11.8 trillion. Fidelity Investments operates a brokerage firm, manages a large family of mutual funds, provides fund distribution and investment advice, retirement services, index funds, wealth management, cryptocurrency, securities execution and clearance, asset custody, and life insurance. I have been a customer for over 30 years and I have always been happy with their customer service, online platform, app and support. This particular office in Providence is nicely laid out and they always have a nice group of people greeting customers and helping them with whatever they need. They validate parking if needed.

My concerns: The accountant handling my e-file neglected to include the 1040 form. (I'm fairly young, I own my own business & this would be the second year I've employed an CPA & lawyer to handle my taxes.) However I keep excellent records, tried my very best to do everything I could to be a responsible tax paying citizen. I wasn't informed I hadn't included this information until I received a threatening letter from the IRS informing me (2 months later) that I needed this information to process my 2014 taxes. I emailed my accountant at this firm. She first said she wasn't my power of attorney, she couldn't handle it. Then, I was to blame because I hadn't including this form. & lastly she could amend this error. NEVER mentioning it would cost extra... Extra to the tune of $200 bill I received.... The sad part being I received her additional $200 AFTER the IRS send ANOTHER letter mentioning they STILL needed the 1040 form that my attorney was supposedly sent when she 'amended' HER error. I'm currently in discrepancy with the IRS due to these errors.... I've chosen to handle myself all myself, because clearly my accountant is only good at making mistakes, blaming others AND sending unannounced for exactly that!

However, the customer service is abysmal. Like all the other reviewers, I agree, it is a painful experience to work with this credit union. There is no way to view my transactions online. Is it 2025? Or do they just purposely want me to be in the dark? I have to wait for a paper statement once a year to see all activity on my account. I have a mortgage with them and typically annually they have underestimated what I will owe towards escrow and when I have paid the difference on two different occasions, they have credited the escrow payment towards a regular payment, even though the form clearly states it's an escrow payment and I've stated to the person in person (because there's no way to do this online), but that's what it is for and yet it's still gets misallocated. Today was the icing on the cake. I went to their new office in Warwick to ask them to print off a list of my transactions. I was met at the front door by a woman who told me that "this was not a branch" and I asked if she could help with the request and she actually said "no. " Not, call this number or I can add a request, just "no." When I went to my local branch, I waited in line with about 6 other people while 2 tellers tried to manage everything, the branch manager appeared to return from lunch with her Dunkin and casual Friday attire, and talked to someone on the phone from her office about what the plan for dinner was after she sat down. Unbelievable.

They required ALL updates to be done in either paper letter or by going into a branch (because its 1980). I missed almost a year of statements because I wasn't made aware of that, I thought a phone call would've been sufficient, like every other financial institution... I had to set up bill pay with my regular bank because their website/app were basically useless, about the same as their phone reps. I was also almost late on my first payment because no account info was provided by mail until after the first due date. Luckily I'm dilligent and called in for it. I paid off my loan almost a year early, just because I really wanted to be done with it. Thankfully I had MAILED a letter to update my address, or I'd never have recieved my title. I found out about a year later that they charged a fee for their MANDATORY savings account if it's the only account you have there, they charged it to a zero balance and closed it without providing any kind of contact, despite the rep I spoke to in Dec 2018 telling me it just sat their until I came in to close it or WROTE AND MAILED a letter to close it. I've had nothing but headaches with them from start to finish, they are the greediest "non-profit" I've ever seen and I am embarrassed that they use my states name. Never again. I'd rather have paid a higher rate at a less sketchy bank than this sad excuse for a credit union.
