I called twice to get an appointment to have my dishwasher looked at. The first time a lady answered the phone and told me it was the pump and the cost of a new pump is more than the cost of a new dishwasher. She would not schedule an appointment. I called back later and talked to a man, and he said the same thing, and stressed that he was just trying to save me the cost of a service call when it was OBVIOUS that I needed a new dishwasher. I asked him if the supply line could be clogged and cause the problem, but he said that would not keep the dishwasher from running. I had a plumber come out for something else, and he found a TON of sediment in the water supply line. I bought a new supply line, he installed it and the dishwasher is now getting enough water to properly run. These guys don't want to repair your appliance, they just want to sell you a new one. We purchased a fixer upper and needed to purchase all of appliances quick. I always try to shop local and ask on social media for suggestions. The overwhelming response was Charleston Appliance Center! I walked in and was greeted with a smile and how can I help you today? Within 30 minutes I had picked out my appliances and guess what? They had them on the showroom floor! This is another reason to shop local when you can. So many people shop at big box stores and may save a few bucks but just wait until you have a problem. read more

very unprofessional and rude. I had ah guy named Ralph come and look at my dryer and he was very disrespectful from the start. He literally could not answer any questions I had for him and got mad when I said I might need a new one. His response was i can't get another one until he tries to fix the one I have. so I let him in my house and showed him the dryer that had my clothes in there a little damp and he said I can't fix that and walked out. This was on a Friday, so naturally, I had to wait until Monday to call my landlords. once I talk to them, they said the guy Ralph told them. I never allowed him in my house and that I just told him I needed a new dryer. so I called Charleston appliance to talk to the owner and he was very rude. A guy name, Matt. He didn't believe a word I was saying and was for sure his guy was telling the truth that I never let him in. The only problem is I have cameras in my house, and I have recorded me and him in front of the dryer talking about it . He literally lied to them about everything. The owner matt told me to take my clothes out the dryer and hang them up until he can get a guy out there. I told him OK and that this issue happened before and that they sent a guy out that look Mexican and I didn't have any problems with him , he said I don't have any messages that Worker only Caucasians !!! literally the worst out of his mouth. I'll never ever shopped there. I regret buying a washer and dryer from them a few years ago for my wife. A new washer and dryer that I never had problems with. But when I tell them about the washer and dryer at my house is a problem I give them a -10. Our washing machine that we purchased there years ago was on it way out. I stopped in and talked to Matt and his wife and purchased a new one. We believe in shopping local. "Local" owners are very important to keep our town going. I know they will be there if something goes wrong. We should all support our local merchants. When I first moved to Charleston, 2 years ago, I needed a new dryer. The dryer was the same price as the same dryer at Home Depot. Wanting to support small business owners in town, I decided to buy the dryer at Charleston Appliance. When the dryer was delivered and the delivery men left, I noticed there was a big dent in the side. I called Charleston Appliance and the woman that answered the phone, I think it was an owner, told me, basically, that I was lying and I dented the dryer myself. She said her men did not report any damage to the dryer upon their return to the shop. Terrible attitude by these people, and terrible customer service. I will never buy another thing from this store. Also, the delivery man were not very friendly and were in a big hurry. There is no way they took any time to look at that dryer. read more

We bought a speed queen washer in April 2018 and it was installed the next day with great service. The washer had an electronic problem in the summer the service people were out in a day and replaced the module. We bought the speed queen dryer in November and it was installed and hooked up by a friendly crew. The installers even cleaned out my dry pipe of all the lint in the long pipe under the house. read more

When my washer took a crap in my new house I contacted my landlords who sent out these guys with a new one. One man came and did the job himself. I was getting ready to leave for the weekend and packing up on the other side of the house where all I hear is banging and scratching noises. I come to look at what is going on and see the sliding of the old and new appliances across a tile floor. Not only leaving scratch marks but dryer dust and god only knows what else all across half my house. Leaving scratch marks and a dirty house behind I would not contact this company if you want things to go smoothly. read more

Last year my 89 year old mother needed a new washer immediately. She contacted the store to ask for recommendations and they sold her their most expensive Speed Queen top loader. The men came and installed a machine that didn't fit the space. No help or comment that it was the wrong machine and she needed a different model. Just installed and out the door. The first load she washed on hot was not hot water coming out, it was cold. When she went to the store to ask for someone to come by and look at the hook up as it might be backwards she was met with rude retorts. No one came by to fix the hook up even after going back and called more than once. I am very distressed a senior would be treated so badly and her health and safety be compromised due to not having hot water to get rid of germs and disease when she gets sick. I cannot recommend this company to anyone and will contact the manufacturer to report this distributor. read more

I won't be doing business with them again. I called about a refrigerator that was not cooling. They sent a guy out, who was very nice, came back several days later and determined the part they ordered was wrong. OK, I'm glad he didn't install an unnecessary part. A day later I call the owner to see when my new part will be installed. He has emails out to several distributors and can't seem to find the part. He will let me know. Three more days pass, again I (the customer), have to call THEM to find out where things stand. They can't find the paperwork, under a stack, they're WITH A CUSTOMER (who am I????? We bought this from them and have used them for several years. I have a failing refrigerator and am a PROBABLE REPEAT CUSTOMER if I'm treated right), they will call me back. After called me back, I'm told they can't find the part. Finally, after pressing for more information, I half apologize for being so nutty as to try to find my own part, they give me the part number. I look it up, and it's available in at least two different online sources. WHY am I having to do this?? Giving them an extra star for the repairman who came to my home. He was decent. read more
