There are antiques everywhere in the hallways and the rooms carry that same vintage feel, which makes it really fun just to walk around and explore. There is also a library room with a pool table that feels like the cutest vintage lounge space. The pool area was amazing with a large hot tub, a nice pool, and a sauna. At night they have fire pits and complimentary s'mores packs so you can go outside and roast marshmallows. There are also games to borrow, a bar, river access, and so much more. Lots and lots of history here !! I also learned that for here, the "first floor" means one flight up from the lobby, and the "first floor" is NOT on the ground floor nor where the lobby is. Learn something new everyday. In fact, this inn does not appear to have rooms on the ground floor or where the lobby is, but if they do, I just don't know where that would be. The dining room, kitchen and bar appear to be what exists on the main floor. Regardless of all that, our room upstairs was beautifully appointed and spacious, and our king-size bed with its fluffy pillows was so inviting and comfortable. It was beautiful !! We slept so very well. I wish we had booked for more than one night. Our room rate included a warm-cooked breakfast the next morning. For an additional fee, we ate our dinner at the Vic Tavern, as well. (Those will be reviewed under the Vic Tavern.) The owners were very nice and friendly. We thoroughly enjoyed speaking with them and staying at their inn. You press the button on a doorbell camera and someone answers after like 5 min. I had to press it several times to get a response at 10 am in the day of my checkout. The response was the staff doesn't show up until 11 am; which is the checkout time. There is a text number but the person or AI agent on the other end clearly is not the innkeeper or anyone capable of making decisions. They/It provided faulty information and was the opposite of helpful. If this is what the future of hospitality looks like, I am not impressed. My family rented two rooms on the first floor. One room facing the back of the property was nice but the other one (#15) was very small and had two windows overlooking the front porch and yard. Unfortunately there are chairs just outside of the windows and someone kept sitting in one of them and talking on her phone. It was very uncomfortable to have the shades open and have someone sitting right there. Because of this we had to keep the curtains drawn and with the room being so small, it felt like we were in a cave. Basically, it sounds like staying at the Jackson used to be a very nice experience but new owners/management are now trying to run the hotel as cheaply as possible. Guests are noticing.

The place has long history and they even have a pamphlet that traces the history of the place back to 1800s. It's located near a pond and as you go in the premise there are gravel parking lots on the left. Once we parked we went inside to check in. The staff helped us check in and gave us our keys. Once we got the key we went to find our room. Noticed that it's definitely an older building as keys are regular key and a door knob which we don't see many at hotels nowadays. The lock for our room was bit tricky and i had to finagle it to open. Once open inside was a small room with queen bed, a mini fridge, tv, some light, bathroom and a closet. They also do have the old school ac unit. Inside seems to be relatively clean but does have that worn rustic old looks as its a historic buildings. One of the light was also not turning on quite so once again i had to finagle it to make it work. The facility also has diner and lounge area which is small and has that rustic look. They offer dinner and breakfast. Breakfast does come with the stay. We went to breakfast in the morning which was buffet style. Typical coffee, egg, sausage, bacon, home fries, blueberry pancake, cereals, yogurt, and some pastries and breads. The breakfast was ok. Service overall was good. Everyone was nice and helpful.
