Then you can see weeds popping out of the newish landscaping, not a great sign for attention to detail. Then waited at the front desk for quite a while to check in as no staff was around. At this point if I didn't have reservations I would have left, but it was late. Did get checked in after a while. Got up to the room and saw the great craftsmanship of the hotel construction with the door strike plate going into bear wood and drywall. The second star is for the pool, that seemed fine. In the AM the breakfast looked less than appealing and no surprise, no one was at the front desk to check out. Not up to snuff for a Hampton Inn and no where near the 4.6 the big review site gives it. Keep driving.

The indoor pool has a ramp to it for accessibility and a chair that can help those with mobility issues get into the pool. For a relatively small hotel in a relatively small city, I was surprised and impressed. We ordered an accessible room for me. The room I got has solid accessibility including a roll-in shower, mostly accessible interior items, and a bed that worked well with my wheelchair. There was also a button you could press for entry, though I did find the door has a serious stick to it. The hotel offers free WiFi that I found worked well and consistently. As others have noted, the hotel is adjacent to a fairly rundown strip center. There's a fairly new Culver's across the parking lot and easily within walking distance. There's a Kroger that's even closer. The hotel itself is easy to find during the day, though a bit hidden in the parking lot. I was checked in easily when I arrived, though I had to laugh a bit because when I got to my room it clearly hadn't been cleaned. The bed was not made. However, I must say, they addressed it quickly and with multiple apologies. I would say employees here are a huge reason to stay. They were friendly and helpful throughout. It's worth noting I was in room 107. I was able to access every place I wanted in the room from my wheelchair. I will note that the roll-in shower has a bench that is fairly far from the actual shower head. I'm not sure if they expect that everyone with a disability is getting help, but I definitely had a harder time reaching it. Other than that, it worked well and the roll-in shower worked nicely - the floor was definitely wet when I finished. I found the bed comfortable and I slept well. There's an in-room refrigerator. There's an ice machine and vending machines on the first floor at the end of the hallway. Overall, this was a good stay and there's no doubt I'd return in the future.

I recommend Just a short walk to Aroma--try the Lavender Lattee(Oye) ! And the adjacent bakery! Gabriel's has amazing breakfast and Dillinger's was good for dinner. Very responsive folks running it clued us into how to get in the suite. We'll be back !

Very spacious with lovely furniture and decor. It's probably the antique-est of the three suites in the house. The Cole Porter Suite has a living room, a little kitchenette, a queen bed in the main area, a second bedroom with a double bed, a bathroom, and a sunroom (I've included pictures). The only thing that was a pinch awkward was the hand shower in the bathtub (and no shower curtain). Some antique charm that was definitely a new experience for us, but we figured it out! We were able to contact the proprietor as soon as we arrived, and he instructed us how to get to our room. We could come and go as we pleased. The only down side was feeling a little distant from him should we need things like extra towels, but he was very nice, and I'm sure he would have come running if we'd had a need. No breakfast is included with your stay at the inn, but the kitchenette has a sink, microwave, coffee maker, and coffee, or Peru has a few local breakfast places that will fit the bill (we liked Aroma downtown for coffee and donuts, or go down U.S. 31 about 15 minutes to Dutch Cafe for a hearty breakfast). The inn was also an easy walk to a few local restaurants for dinner, of which I recommend Club 14 and Voodoo Public House. The neighborhood is filled with historic homes of all shapes and sizes, so even just a walk (or drive!) drive around the neighborhoods in that vicinity was great entertainment. We didn't use the TV while we were there, so I guess my only other complaint would be the Wi-Fi. It's free, which is great, but we barely had a signal, so the router must be pretty far from our upstairs room. So if you need to get work done or have amazing internet access, you won't really get it here (at least not upstairs). But if you want a beautiful place to relax and a home base to check out what Northern Indiana has to offer, this is a great one!

Breakfast, as others have mentioned, was a real treat and Nicole was a whirling peach helping everyone out while evincing friendly interest in all guests. Our room was perhaps less perfectly clean than it might have been (either a large white-haired dog or a polar bear had recently been housed there, and housekeeping's noble struggles to mop up all the residue weren't 100% successful) and the bathtub drain was slow and allowed water to pool around my ankles during just a quick shower. Here's the thing, though: we were headed to a wedding shortly after we arrived and were only there for one night. I'm CERTAIN that if I'd mentioned these issues to the folks at the front desk, they would have been rectified tout suite. I didn't, though, because I didn't have the time. (I mentioned them in response to a "How Were Things?" email from management - hey, and that email itself is a great sign, eh? - and got a royal apology and a promise to jump on fixes.) And other family members staying at the Best Western Circus City Inn had nothing but high praise for the cleanliness and functionality of their quarters. Ours was just bad luck - what are you gonna do? It happens. So, while _our_ experience was maybe a little flawed, I think that was unusual and the hotel itself is a solidly good place to stay in Peru.

They provide a good complimentary hot breakfast with a machine that provides fresh yogurt which was the tastiest we've ever had (better with granola!) and a pancake machine in a small dining room. There is a little coffee bar for something hot. There is a little toiletries bar for some things you may have forgotten. This hotel is a little gem!

A great feature to the pool was the garden hose that ran from the upper deck, pumping water into the pool, which made the pool numbingly cold. And now the rooms. Holes in the walls and ceilings. Dirty. Each room had 2 thin towels, a bathmat, 2 hand towels and a washcloth. We asked for extra and they only rotated the linen. The carpets were nasty, and the linens were nearly see-through. They had two soda machines, and that was pretty much it. There were no ice machines. If you wanted ice, you had to go to the front desk to get ice. The first morning one person in our party went to get a cup of coffee from the restaurant. He was given a Styrofoam cup with coffee. As he was walking out, he realized the top of the cup was a tad bent up. He then examined it, and someone had written "Sugar" on the cup. So, he was given a used cup.... NO sign says NO FOOD - so here we are with 8 folks trying to eat in a room with 1 king bed ---- REALLY...... Also we asked for one more ice bucket so we didn't have to bother the front desk (the only place to get ice) - we were told NOPE only 1 ice bucket per room..... I agree with the 1 star rating on 4/25/18 - we were treated like an inconvenience.

My visit to Muncie was made all the better just by staying at this hotel. According to the internet, the official name of the hotel is the Courtyard by Marriott Muncie at Horizon Convention Center. Whatta mouthful! I'll just call it the Marriott. I never liked the term "conveniently located," because it raises the question: convenient to whom? It's such a nebulous, throwaway phrase. But literally, this Marriott is conveniently located in downtown Muncie, in the middle of the city and within steps of many restaurants and attractions. There's even a terrific restaurant attached to the hotel that's located downstairs (1925 Pubhouse). The hotel is next door to the Muncie Children's Museum, within sight of the Muncie Visitors Bureau, and across the street from a grassy area where many outdoor concerts happen during the summer. If you want to not use your car very much when you visit Muncie, but you want to do a lot and visit a lot of places, this is a good hotel at which to stay. One of the cool things about this Marriott is that it is a teaching hotel, and provides job training and employment for people with disabilities. I love that. The dude who checked me out of my room, and the homie who kindly sold me a cup of coffee and avocado toast, both had disabilities. My lovely interactions with them were an integral part of me loving my stay. As for my room: It had a comfy king-sized bed with lots of pillows, a TV that you can connect to Amazon Prime and other streamers to watch your favorite movies about hundreds of beavers, a mini fridge to store water bottles and chill a bottle of white wine, and a view that overlooks the city. It is a nice, clean, functional, comfortable, restful and special hotel.

The hotel is a Marriott franchisee owned by Arc of Indiana, a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The hotel is a "teaching" hospital and plays host to the Erskine-Green Training Institute - Indiana's first statewide hospitality training center for individuals with disabilities. The goal is to train folks with disabilities for a competitive wage jobs. The hotel itself is a for profit project that provides an immersive training ground for those interested in hospitality industry jobs.The hotel is contractually obligated to have at least 20% of its employees be persons with disabilities. While Scott Wise's Thr3e Wisemen Brewery was part of the hotel in the beginning, it has been replaced by a similarly themed 1925 Pubhouse that also serves as a training restaurant for Erskine-Green. Opened in December 2015, this Courtyard is a six-floor hotel that is attached to Thr3e Wisemen, the Muncie Children's Museum and the Horizon Convention Center. Originally targeted for the old Roberts Hotel, which was snatched up and turned into condos before the project was greenlighted, the hotel ended up being built on land donated by the city of Muncie. During training, Erskine-Green Training Institute students stay at the hotel, unless they are relatively local and commute, while in their 10-13 week training programs. This also means, of course, that this Courtyard is one of the most accessible hotels you can imagine. Truly. It offers a variety of accessibility options in the majority of its rooms including wheelchair accessibility, roll-in showers, and adaptive equipment for both visual and hearing impairments. Some of the rooms even have automated doors (though, ironically, mine wasn't working during my most recent stay). The hotel was recently renovated as it nears its 10th anniversary. It offers spacious rooms, contemporary/clean decor, a fair pricing point, an in-house bistro that offers breakfast and dinner, an around-the-clock Starbucks option (not full menu), a nice and wheelchair friendly pool, a fitness center, and even a check-in center that has been made accessible. You should know, as it's a tad confusing, that the parking in front of the hotel actually belongs to the new condos. Don't park there. They seem a tad moody. Instead, there's a parking garage behind the hotel where guests park for free (It's $1 an hour if you're just visiting). There's no doubt my affection for Erskine-Green somewhat skews my rating, and I'll acknowledge that while I seldom have any issues on this visit the automatic door didn't work (and it's quite heavy without the automatic feature) and a packed house due to a convention clearly had the staff a bit overwhelmed. Minor quibbles (though having stayed from Friday evening to Sunday, I was a bit bothered that no one bothered to address the automatic door). On the plus side, a previous tip I'd made to lower the bed had actually been implemented. Bravo. As this is centrally located in downtown, the hotel attracts a variety of traveling guests, businesses, and others. On one visit, I even met the duo from Air Supply in town for a concert (If you don't know Air Supply, move on - I'm old. Get over it). The meeting rooms were nicely equipped, there were charging stations all over the place and even more since the recent renovation added charging stations at tables. Profits from this hotel go to benefit the Erskine-Green Training Institute and other ARC projects. So, you have a terrific room at a fair price with great service and you're supporting a great organization working to put folks with disabilities in the workforce. It really doesn't get much better than that.

We moved away in 2012 it was fabulous back then. Upon checking in the Lobby is very dim/dark it needs some brightness to it. The man at the desk was not the friendliest. The lady who answered the phone when we called ahead was better at customer service so they may want to think of changing roles. The Lobby was clean. I do hate they got rid of the pool and put in a conference room. Even though we didn't bring our kids this trip. that's usually a sales point for us so we usually stay in Bluffton or Portland when we come visit our families. Our room was on the second floor and this hotel has not elevators so if you have limits make sure you let them know prior. The bed was clean no issues at first when I sat on the bed I felt it was going to be a hard sleep because the bed was way to soft. (We prefer xtra firm) but with that being said when we laid down it was actually pretty comfortable. you melt into the bed. Even thought they don't have an attendee during the night they do have an emergency number to call we didn't need the number at all. Down fall we went to the bathroom to take a shower and noticed that on the back of door their was some blue sprayed on the door (tooth paste maybe) along with the outside of the tub base had stuff on it that was brown. So we did have to clean the tub prior to using it. The water pressure is not the greatest but it did it's job. They don't have enough shampoo in the room for two people so make sure you ask for more or bring yours from home. Pricing: the price was great it was 1/2 the price we would of paid in Bluffton or Portland. But I would pay higher to have the bathrooms cleaner. At 10 am housekeeping knocked on the door to see if we needed anything or to remind us that check out is at 11am. Lol...When we went to leave the same attendant was working this time much friendlier. I know we all have bad days and one offs.

I highly recommend this inn and their exceptional hospitality!
