The cottage is surrounded by beautiful gardens and a very friendly chonker cat named Lucy who will run up to you for pets (and might try to sneak inside the cottage if you let her). The breakfast was incredible with bacon, cheese eggs, perfectly done potatoes, and a platter of homemade pastries. The location is rural but it was close to the black pine animal sanctuary, and about 40 minutes away from Fort Wayne. It was a good springboard for all of the local breweries we planned to scope out, which there is a ridiculous amount of (or maybe not, you need something to keep you busy in these small towns).

Dennis did an amazing job keeping everything running smoothly on the day of the wedding. The mansion is stunning inside and out, which made for amazing photos and ambiance. Imagine my even deeper satisfaction when I discovered this bed and breakfast and booked it for two nights so I could celebrate my last surviving aunt's 80th birthday. My room was clean and comfortable, even having its own separate bathroom. Wifi was available as well as my own door key to the house so that I could come and go as I pleased. Breakfast was made personally by the hostess, an engaging and lively person with a story of her own regarding her connection to the town. I had a most pleasant stay in this charming house and the frosting on the cake was the reasonable price of the room. This is a place I would return to in a heartbeat.

This house is by far the most comfortable, "home feeling" place we have been since we arrived here. We are staying in the the Coppes Suite and the room is spacious and clean. The bed and linens are very comfortable. We have slept very well. It's like sleeping at grandmothers house according to my wife. My wife has throughly enjoyed the huge bath tub, while I admit the hand shower has taken some getting used too for me. If you have trouble getting in and out of a tub, I would request different suite. Let's not forget the breakfast!! Yummy! Day one: Ham and egg cups, cheesy hash browns that would make Cracker Barrel jealous, toast with fresh strawberry jam, and a yogurt parfait. Day two: red pepper and cheddar cheese (local) omelette, roasted fingering potatoes, toast and a home made cinnamon roll! If you appreciate the classic architecture of a home built by community leaders from the mid 1800's. You will enjoy this place. We stayed in the "North Room," which is the first room (all rooms are upstairs on the 2nd level) at the top of the stairs. It has a very comfy queen bed and ample space. My favorite feature is the clawfoot tub, a bath bomb was even included for those wanting a bath. The owners live on the 3rd floor so are always available. Visiting during Covid, we had a very safe stay as well. We got to choose our breakfast time and were served a grand breakfast to ourselves in the dining room. A breakfast-in-bed delivery option as well. Karen made a feast of a breakfast (French toast, eggs, bacon, fruit, and Tinker coffee!). Every room has a private bath, flat screen tv, wifi, etc. There is a beautiful sitting room with books and games galore, which we didn't use lol. They have fridge full of pop, water, juice, etc., and homemade cookies or scones available at all times. They are also phenomenal cooks. Our breakfast must've had about 5 courses, and was better than any breakfast place I've been to in Chicago. Very impressive! They have their coffee custom roasted and blended, and it's by far the best coffee I've ever had. The people themselves are very down-to-earth and friendly. I'm not one for socializing with people, we stayed here because it was cheaper than a hotel, nicer than a hotel, and included a much better breakfast than a hotel. I was very surprised to find myself talking with them for a half hour at breakfast, and actually enjoying it! When gas becomes affordable again, we're looking forward to driving out to Middlebury and staying here again.
