And if you happen to stay out all night you can come back for brunch from Deli Lane next door. I heard this piece of party history is soon to close and I will be sad to see it go. Hopefully something equally festive will pop up in it's place and not a sanitized corporate brand devoid of character.

It is possible that the vibe of Sunset Tavern will not change much, but as we all know, it may never be the same. Sunset Tavern is one of those few places where it is just as good to go in the morning for a Bloody Mary and enjoying the scenery of South Miami, as it is to go at night, drink a beer and watch a live band perform. The ambiance is casual, the service is up to the challenge, and the price is reasonable. As the matter of, I went to Sunset Tavern last night. The name of the band playing was Electric Mayhem and they were absolutely outstanding. The energy and the chemistry between the band members, the song selection, and the talent of the musicians was off the chat. I have never been so mesmerized by a local band before, and I plan to go back and see them again. They perform in Sunset Tavern the first Saturday of every month. But as I was watching the band, I took a look around. So many memories within those walls. I will miss this location.

The staff took the time to explain exactly what was in each dish, which really helped me appreciate the complex flavors. The food was absolutely incredible. We (2 people) ordered the Papaya Salad, Chicken Liver Mousse, Pork, and Flounder. I definitely recommend the Papaya Salad and the Pork (very juicy)! The ambiance inside the restaurant is excellent, too. I sat near a window framed by a beautiful tree outside, which created such a great, cozy vibe. Highly recommend for date night!

This lady was not only unfriendly and pompous, she was actually rude. Will never return just due to her. But let's talk about the food. It was delicious! We tried the chilled pink shrimp, Berkshire pork collar and the Golden Chicken. All were very tasty & flavorful, with the perfect combination of sweet and savory. The Arroz con leche dessert was amazing! Our friends had the grouper appetizer and loved it. That said, not sure why the chicken at $60 was almost twice as much as the pork! The rice that came with the chicken was dry and tasteless, so I didn't eat that... And, the $24 glass of wine, with a very small pour, was disappointing. If they get rid of the sommelier, I might return for the food!

The Collab is supposedly "known for its fusion of Mediterranean and Asian flavors in a stylish, artful setting". In our 2 meals there I had a pizza for dinner and a breakfast sandwich the next morning. For a 3 meal hotel restaurant, I thought they did a great job. In the morning my wife had their "version of a pancake" which was very custardy in the middle and a bit strange but still good. You want to make a pancake where it is cooked on the outside and still soft on the inside? Sure, why not. Not our fave but the service and buildout were good and especially when we stuck with the more traditional fare, everything was delicious.

Our drink orders were taken immediately, which is always a plus and we heard all the racket about the blue crab croquetta's so we put that order in. We devoured those crunchy balls and anticipated our next appetizer, the Margherita pizza. It came bubbling hot, cheesy ,tasty and had the perfect crisp crunch. My mother chose the Miami Spice menu and shared her crispy rice salmon tartare. Im not a fan of crispy eice but this one I can order every time. The salmon and rice kusy complimented eachother so well.Every Our main dishes consisted of the vesuvio pasta, and the pan seared Barramundi. The fish was a render whitw fish with a sauce tnat was so liggt yet so flavorful. My favorite was the pasta. The meat cooked so tender and the pasta cooked to perfection, the mushrooms huge and tnat sauce. That sauce was life. It had a touch of aweetness tnat just complimented the whole dish. I was full but had to finish my bowl, it was that good. The dessert of choise was the vanilla ice cream with a gin, the toffee pudding which was extraordinary, and the chocolate cake. We downed 2 bottles of Moët with this whole experience and couldn't get enough. The Collab was collabing. ...treat yourself!

One got the ahi tuna tartare as an appetizer, another got the ceasar salad, and another got the crab cake. The ceasar salad was very big for an appetizer! It was like a full meal. The crab cake was literally just one small cake. But it was delicious (my friend let me try it). The tuna tartare came with homemade potato chips. They were delicious too! As our entrees I ordered the ceasar salad with grilled chicken breast. It was delicious! One of the best ceasar salads I've ever had! The dressing is clearly homemade and they did a great job! I loved it! The chicken was cooked perfectly! It was very tender and juicy. All three friends ordered the salmon with ravioli and shrimp. They thought it was strange to have a red sauce with salmon, and I agree. But they enjoyed their food and didn't have any complaints about the taste. My husband ordered the grilled chicken with steak fries. The fries were huge! As you can see by the picture, they basically make 4 fries out of a single potato. They put 2 fries (half of a potato) under the chicken breast. My husband enjoyed his meal. None of us had any leftovers. My husband and I had to leave, but my friends each ordered a soufflé for dessert. They looked delicious. The service was a little slow. We waited quite a while for everything but it wasn't horrible. I would love to return and try their baked onion soup! I put our cost at $20-30 because that's what my husband and I spent. My friends all spent $40+tax because they got the Miami Spice deal.

Too bad this place is no longer anything special. There are much better choices nearby in the Dadeland area. It's a hard pass - never returning again.
