The food was absolutely incredible. We (2 people) ordered the Papaya Salad, Chicken Liver Mousse, Pork, and Flounder. I definitely recommend the Papaya Salad and the Pork (very juicy)! The restaurant has a nice, casual vibe. It's nice that you can see the chefs as they prepare your food. The service was very good except for one, the sommelier (Shannon). This lady was not only unfriendly and pompous, she was actually rude. Will never return just due to her. But let's talk about the food. It was delicious! We tried the chilled pink shrimp, Berkshire pork collar and the Golden Chicken. All were very tasty & flavorful, with the perfect combination of sweet and savory. The Arroz con leche dessert was amazing! Our friends had the grouper appetizer and loved it. That said, not sure why the chicken at $60 was almost twice as much as the pork! The rice that came with the chicken was dry and tasteless, so I didn't eat that... And, the $24 glass of wine, with a very small pour, was disappointing. Recoveco is one of those places that you go home and talk to everyone you know about for days. They were able to unify the essence of an elevated experience with the coziness and flavors of a home cooked meal in a way many wish but can't achieve. With some of my favorite interior design in any restaurant in Miami, settle in and order a glass of wine from their incredibly curated wine list. Indulge in the dinner menu crafted with love by the couple that own the place, as each plate is going to stay with you until next time you get a chance to stop by. Something I never thought I would say is that you need to try their cow tongue, I know that may sound strange to many, but as someone who never allowed myself to even dip my toes in anything of the kind, I can confidently tell you this plate expanded my horizons. The golden chicken is not just fit for anyone with a foot-fetish (it comes with the chicken foot plated as an unexpected guest), as the flavors can only be described with the fireworks Remy experiences in Ratatoille. I think of the mixture of flavors on these plates and sauces on the regular and truly think this is one of Miami's most hidden gems. read more

We had high expectations for Recoveco, as it was named named one of the "20 Best New Restaurants of 2025" by Bon Appétit. Strengths: *Nice use of small space: light and airy with original art *Free parking (but it's challenging ot find- it's about a block away on SW 74th St. *The desserts were exceptional- some of the best we've ever had. The Mulberry Leaf and Homestead Guava was creative and complemented by cucumber; the Fruit and Cream had luscious poached quince and tonka bean caramel Weaknesses: *The seats are uncomfortable, made of solid wood. Pillows would help *The appetizers and main courses were disappointing. The Snapper Crudo had a nice horseradish sauce, but crackers or something crispy would have helped to break up the textural monotony of soft on soft. The chicken liver mousse, although excellent, was paired with an overly sweet speculaas. The Black Grouper was uninspired, and the Berkshire Pork Collar was marred by excessive fat chunks *The wine lists seemed to pursue the exotic over quality Overall, Recoveco did not qualify as one of the 20 Best New Restaurants in the US in 2025, at least from our perspective. read more

Current favorite restaurant. I went tonight and our group of 4 girls ordered every single item on the menu (yes, every item). Everything was delicious! There was nothing we wouldnt order again. Favorites to callout was the Grouper on special, which was flavored in a sweet and spicy type of szechuan sauce, and the salad, which came with nuts, small cubes of cheese and a tangy delicious dressing. The chicken liver mousse was also a favorite of the table! I definitely recommend this place. Portions are a bit small, so you will need more than you expect to feel full. Can't wait to come back as I've been told that the menu constantly changes so I'm sure there's other things that I'm dying to try and I just don't know exist lol. We shared appetizers: green papaya salad, chicken liver mousse pate on a biscotti wafer - divine. Each item we were served was a new explosion of flavor. I am not a lamb lover, so I did not try the lamb tar tar wrapped in rice paper, but those who did raved about it. We ordered two entrees, the fried chicken - who knew fried chicken could taste like such a delicacy, I would order it again and again. A grouper was full of flavor, but the fish itself was a bit rough and hard to cut. We finished off our meal with the banana cake, a small toffee banana Butlet with caramel sauce, and a scoop of ice cream....amazing! read more

Decided to try Recoveco because of all the attention it got in such a short time. The menu is small and rotates from every 2 days to weeks depending on the seasonal availability of the ingredients.   What I had:   Snapper Crudo was small, but my tastebuds were shocked with multiple flavor blasts that surround the melt-in-your-mouth fresh fish.    Grassfed Beef Tongue is another small in size starter but strongly recommended one. The sweet whipped sesame cream is a perfect match with garlicky chimichurri and beef carpaccio. Comes with chicken-fat-cooked crackers. Don't you dare to leave Recoveco without having this dish!   Pennsylvania Golden Chicken is what everyone almost forces you to try here. The presentation was extravagant with a chicken paw (for me as a gentle person, it ruined the appetite a bit). I'll describe it simply: soft half-chicken with crispy skin, tart green mango sauce, baked whole potato. I didn't quite understand the buzz around it.   Fig Leaf and Dellerman's Pineapple dessert with Juniper Berry meringue was visually impressive, and you could see all the different techniques they used to make it. The pineapple sorbet tasted like a real fruit just bursted in your mouth--very refreshing and a perfect digestive.   The service was very attentive but not fast. The dinner took us two hours; however, this restaurant is made for slow dining, sipping on wine, indulging in the food, and discussing the flavors with your companions. So yeah, excellent service.    It can be tricky to get a table if you don't make a reservation in advance. I'm sure we'll see this place in a Michelin guide next year, so make your reservation while you can. read more

Some things are better appreciated when they are understood. And, we were lucky enough to visit this restaurant after the waned popularity of Netflix's Chef's Table series & the dominance of a show like "The Bear" in pop culture. Because, Recoveco seems more like a restaurant in those portrayals than a restaurant an average eater would be familiar with. We are in not just foodie territory here - we are in nouvelle cuisine. And that takes a little navigating...a little guidance - lest you overlook the nuances that make a world of difference. Thankfully, the staff here are more than up to the task. Invest in them. Listen to them & ask questions. The servers here are almost interpreters - letting you know what is special & why. They were wonderful with our big party of 13 - patient & informative. And I think they are absolutely necessary here - adding as much to the meal as the ambiance & the presentation does. Respectfully, it requires that guidance. It takes a little deciphering to fully appreciate (& maybe even justify) a half-chicken with a $64 price. Context is paramount in a restaurant like this - because a chicken is a chicken at the end of the day, and because processed foods can provide a scientifically mediated flavor experience unparalleled in the natural world. Thankfully, Recoveco provides the context with the highly trained staff & a minimalist ambience. The combination sends the message - focus on what we are doing with the food. The focus is reflected in the menu. Appearing scant to the uniformed, it is a lean selection showing intention & purpose. And, if you read the description, you'll notice the dedication to ingredients more than to quantity. You will taste the dedication to ingredients too. And this is what you came for. They deliver! We were fortunate enough to briefly speak with one of the chefs. She mentioned to us a bit about the cooking philosophy (an interaction that is a dream come true for a foodie). She spoke about an emphasis on approachability - like almost tasting a common ingredient, but for the 1st time. Simultaneously humble & ambitious. The flavor pairings were unique while still identifiable. It was like a conversation with a uniquely interesting person - using words I know, but putting them together in ways that produce something I never thought of. A culinary experience not common in Miami. I wish price were not a factor here - because I think that's the barrier. High prices can stand for quality & innovation - yes. But, high prices can also substitute for luxury or status...things not necessarily related to a gastronomic experience. If you are here purely for dining , it's worth it. But like in art, value in food is subjective. And art is an apt comparison. Recoveco offers food as high art - more about sharing a vision than it is about luxury. What a pleasant surprise!!! The food was so unique-presentations were not only appetizing they were delicious!!! Especially, I have to mention the serving sizes were normal-thank Goodness!!! Service also rates 5/5 they were on it-glasses were never empty and their attention never faltered! RUN, don't walk to Recoveco. From the moment you step into this restaurant, you are treated to a culinary journey that tantalizes the senses. Each dish is a masterpiece, showcasing an exquisite balance of flavors and textures. We tried a few things off the menu based off the recommendations from our great server, Shannon. We started with a really refreshing and delicious salad (not listed on the online menu), and then tried the Great American Red Snapper Crudo which surprised us with its creamy horchata, umami-rich kombu, and a kick from pickled agretti and black radish - you will not find Crudo like this anywhere else... the flavors are outstanding. Next we tried the tender Beef Tongue paired with nutty sesame and vibrant chimichurri which offers a delightful contrast, while the Pennsylvania Golden Chicken shines with its juicy meat, tangy green mango sauce, and herbal hoja santa. Both desserts are equally impressive, with the Fig Leaf and Cucumber providing a refreshing finish and the Cheese and Fruit dessert delivering a creamy, juicy, and slightly spicy experience. We truly appreciated that we were not rushed to eat all the dishes at once, and felt the staff really wanted us to enjoy each dish, which added to the experience and allowed us to appreciate what we were eating. WOW! My wife and I are big foodies. We went to this small and charming hidden gem and we were just blown away. We had the tuna appetizer, the chicken liver and the radicchio salad to start followed by the pork chop and the tile fish followed by the two desserts on the menu. the pork melts in your mouth. The desserts were by far the best ones I've had in a long time. Our server Michelle was amazing from start to finish. she was charming and was excellent. Definitely going back for more! This is (or should be) a Michelin 1-2 star restaurant. Ambiance is great. We hadn't been for a few months - and they remembered us with specific details of what we like! Staff is great, friendly without being overwhelming. Great recommendations (although they thought pretty much everything was outstanding in their recommendations - after this meal I would agree). Service was perfect, friendly, timely. Food was outstanding. Papaya salad was a great combination of ingredients with a superb, light dressing, just enough to be there but not taking away from the flavors of the ingredients. Lamb tartar was fresh, delicious. Snapper (usually not my wife's favorite fish, as in she has never ordered it in 25+ years) was devoured by her. Pork collar perfectly cooked with a delicious sauce that added to rather than overwhelmed the pork. Mango and Eustus blueberries with fig meal was a great combination of flavors. Overall, a great meal. And they change the menu regularly, so you won't get tired of the small menu. This is THE first restaurant in Miami that I would say is a MUST! read more

Pretention without substance. We had the tuna appetizer and papaya salad to start. The tuna itself was good (comes prepackaged so that's a given...) but there was no attempt to make it any more interesting. - just tuna. The portion size was very small and the presentation lacked creativity. The papaya salad was very pedestrian. Not horrible but nothing I'd ever request a second time. For main course we had the wagyu steak and the tile fish. The wagyu steak was just slapped on a plate - no garnish, no side. Nothing but a small dollop of insipid sauce. They did get the medium rare right. The tile fish. What can I say? A 2" square piece of beige tile fish nakedly drooping on a grey plate. Nothing else. Exceedingly unappetizing in appearance. Tilefish is a delicious fish which can be made even more spectacular when treated with some imagination. Not here, nope. Desert was meh and the coffee! OMG WHAT did they use for espresso? Office coffee sitting in a pot for 5 hours would have been an improvement. So, in summary, Recoveco is a pretentious little place with seriously overpriced and very mediocre food. It's a small quaint spot, but the FOOD MY GOD THE FOOD. I've been searching for a place that has food that touches your soul, one where every bite is euphoric, one that exceeds your every expectation. First, the Beef tongue. I was never a fan, until Recoveco. Don't you love a spot that will just completely change how you feel toward a food for the better? Do not leave recoveco without trying the Beef Tongue, it's super thinly cut and the flavors are immaculate. Next, the chicken liver mousse- again not an item I would have ordered in the past.. but I end up getting it twice, once in the appetizers, and again for dessert. It's salty it's sweet it's divine. The salads!!! So delicious- the papaya salad is my favorite but of course every time the menu changes the salads do not disappoint. The snapper crudo- melts in your mouth, my only worry is not having ordered more of it before the menu changes. For the entrees, everything I've tried is delicious, any fish they have had has been insane- the tilefish was my favorite. The grouper was amazing too. The lamb with the charred cabbage was delicious! Loved the presentation and taste. And finally their famous chicken. I'm not a chicken person. But I am a chicken person once I walk through the doors of Recoveco. The chicken is insane. It is crispy on the outside and not even breaded- and it's juicy on the inside. I'm always taken aback when eating the chicken. Desserts are great - esp the sticky toffee pudding but the food really really hits that I find myself ordering too much of the food to even think about desserts. oh and the servers aare simply fantastic. Was very excited to try this highly recommended restaurant, but left disappointed. We were told what we ordered (3 appetizers and 2 entrees) would be sufficient for 4 people who were not starving. This was not a "meal" but a taste. Shrimp appetizer had 7 slices of shrimp, 3.5 actual shrimp, with micro amount of avocado. Beautifully plated and tasty broth. We were told the chicken ($60+) was a half of a chicken plus the foot. Tasty but only 2 pieces of chicken and the foot was for esthetics. A tasty but not extraordinary, felt it was played for an instagram pic ; certainly not worth $60+. Celery salad was very good and plentiful, but in the end 3 very flavorful, celery stalks even with pepitas, cheese and oranges seemed highly priced. Beef tongue was tender and with all the chimichuri plated on it, it was good. The sauces were the star of all the plates, bread would have been a nice addition to fill us up, and enjoy the sauces. The ambiance of the place and servers were all very nice but for the hype of reviews, the prices, our whole party was disappointed. It was our first visit to Recoveco and it lived up to the hype, which is rare nowadays in Miami. From the vibe with great music playing in the background to the open kitchen whipping up the most delicious and expertly prepared dishes. So I advise anyone going to have a drink before you go. Even when we told them it was my friend's birthday. They barely acknowledged it and walked away. It was about a quarter of a wine glass. I have so many mixed feelings about this restaurant. It gives off this new wave minimalistic ambiance setting where you can see the chefs working in the kitchen and very simple decor but almost to the point where the seating just hurts if you're sitting for too long because it's just bare wood chairs/booths. Looks-wise it's like sitting an elevated sweet green. As far as the service goes the waiter was very hospitable, he was kind to let us wait and take our time on ordering as we waited for our last guest to arrive. I could only find an early booking and the traffic in Miami is not forgiving these days for early dinner bookings. We ordered every single item on the appetizer list. The celery salad was proportioned well, very shareable between four people and has unique robust flavors of cheese, toasted nuts and zingy dressing to complement the celery flavor. Other items such as the green beans were, chilled royal shrimp, and blistered long beans felt bland and nothing you would long for again. Also I would have wished they changed the silverware a little bit more when changing appetizers to not mix so much flavors together if we're going to call this fine dining. The other thing that pained me was the lack of transparency of the price points of these items on their website menu and the actual restaurant. One of their entrees is a chicken dish for $64. With only 2 other options pork and fish. I understand that there is novelty to refined dining and it's a small culinary kitchen but it just didn't sit right looking at the prices. Nor was the entree impressive enough to merit the price point. I do see all the creativity and mindfulness the chefs were trying to put forward with their dishes and I do want to see this place succeed because you can see they're passionate about good organic food. I'm not saying everything was not flavorful because they did have a dessert that honestly was extremely decadent and creative. It was a flourless chocolate cake complimented with some type of mouse made out of mamey and it looked so pretty I wish I had taken a picture of it. I would go back just to sit and eat that with a shot of espresso and be so content. They're so much potential for this restaurant and I wish the owners/chefs my best wishes.
