I have been to this salon several times to get my hair cut and each time I leave feeling completely fabulous! From the moment you walk into the salon you feel like a valued customer as all the staff are incredibly friendly. Each time I have been it has always been very busy, although I have always managed to get an appointment at the last minute which is a bonus. Getting my hair washed at Medusa is definitely my favourite aspect of the hairdressing experience. They lather your hair in the most delicious smelling shampoo and massage your head for a wee while which is so relaxing! My hairdresser was very friendly and understood exactly what it was I was after. The prices start at £32 for a ladies hair cut and blow dry which I first thought was a little bit expensive but having been and experienced the service, I found that it was very worth it. They do offer student discounts which start at 10%. Medusa also has a beauty salon in its hairdressing store and offers manicures and pedicures.

The do stayed up all day & all night & survived the ceilidh & disco dancing, obligitatory drunken stumbling in huge heels & I was sad to take it down before bed. This time I was feeling brave & in need of a change. "I want to chop it all off", I said. "How short?" she asked. "Well, I need your advice.." I said. And advise me she did. We discussed a few options. The pros & cons of each. My reasons for wanting to go short, my expectations of how to care for each style, how each would look as it grew out. I am delighted with my new style. One of the main reasons I picked this place is because they have a website with the prices outlined and some shots of previous work. They don't take card so it meant I knew how much I needed to bring with me before I left the house. They're a small salon but you're not on display for all the word to see so the place feels intimate and friendly. Ohh and also they do just the best coffee. I really do recommend them to anyone who's in Galashiels and nearby.

What really sets Byron apart from other salons I've tried is the attention to detail. It's clear that Ronnie the manager has incredibly high standards and it feels as though there's a real collective effort from all the staff (senior stylists to trainees) to exceed those standards.
