This is a fun place where you can eat deliciously prepared food and drink beer and just chill. When we walked in, we ordered at the counter and then sat at a table. Our drinks were ready by the time we paid for our order so we were able to carry them to the table. There is a nice selection of draft beer here. I drank Sam Adams Summer draft it was smooth and delicious. The two of us split a steak salad with curly fries and ranch dressing and a medium pizza. Portion sizes are substantial so come hungry. Food is freshly prepared and the pizza had a good proportion of topping to crust. The salad ingredients were fresh too! Everyone was nice, friendly and helpful. Loved it here and will be back the next time we are in Edinburg. read more

So we came to Charlie's twice in the past week while visiting from out of state. Our 1st visit was great. Just 5 of us looking for dinner after a long day of traveling. It was so good, in fact we decided to have a small family get together after a funeral of a loved one. So a few nights later 10 of us showed up to find nowhere to accommodate us so we could sit together. (The 1 long table that seats more than 8, had 2 people sitting there, which meant we could not) so we carefully moved a table so we could sit together. Yes, there were signs that says please do not move tables, but we were careful and were going to move it back after we were finished. After we ordered our meals (couple hundred dollars worth) we were rudely told that, the tables are heavy & expensive. That's why you did want them moved. And the "owner" rudely said that is why there is other spots to sit in big groups.... There is one table, and it was taken. So anyways, food was good, but we will not be back because of lack friendliness from owner. Side note...I stood at the bar for about five minutes to inquire about a larger table or moving one but the owner and bartender were too busy socializing with the patrons. Too bad about the rudeness of the owner as the food is good. Perhaps a hostess to seat small parties appropriately would alleviate this from happening to other guests. read more

If I could give a 1/2 Star I could. Here's how it went: 1. Not a warm greeting. Hard to even get acknowledged. More like "what do you want?" -Note: On the website it says " A relaxed family atmosphere and the friendliest staff around.... 2. Owner's wife was disgusted that we had a large group of people in our party(16). - Note: There was maybe 5 people in there when it can hold at least 75 people. Also, website states they are a group gathering place. 3. The owner who was working the bar over heard his wife and said "don't mind her she is like this"... excuse me but we are brining business to you. -Note: We don't need you, you need customers! (Clearly) 4. You have a sign outside saying "Looking for help, Kitchen staff" -Note: Did the other staff quit, Due to the way you treat others? I could go on and on... Learn from my mistake and go to the other restaurants in the Edinboro area. No need for the owner to apologize about his wife's behavior. read more

Nice place to go to if you are 21+ but have under-agers with you who can't go to the regular bars because it's more of a restaurant than a bar. This is a more family-oriented place with decent food---good pizza and nice specialty drinks. The atmosphere can get a pretty noisy on weekends with the arcade games dinging and the band playing...I get tired of having to yell at my friends. read more

A really fun place with delicious pizza. They recently changed the recipe but it is still great! It's a very low key place and fun for kids! Popcorn and peanuts are a must appetizer. negatives: the games are ridiculously pricey ($1 for a cup claw game that gives you one mini candy bar ) and not very desirable to play as a result and the tables are very (always) sticky. They really need a deep clean and wipe downs between customers. We scrubbed with hand sanitizer but my napkins still stuck. read more

OK, I have to admit, this one is probably purely sentimental as their pizza has undoubtedly changed a bit over the years...but it's where I hung out as a teen when they were still around the corner from the bowling alley and beside the movie theater. Former owners were amazing - new owner, not so much so - rude and beyond unprofessional in all regards. The food is good, but nothing I'll miss since neither I (nor my growing number of fellow citizens who agree) will be going back there ever again. To their credit, they have some nice staff, but some behind the counter act like you are ruining their day by simply ordering off the menu. Food again is typical bar food with some nice blue plate dinners on weekdays. No delivery service (in a college town???). In a place so small that everyone knows everyone, one would think an owner would actually care about ticking off someone who's been a loyal customer for 35+ years... what a slap in the face I got today! I had not been to Uncle Charlie's in awhile and I remember why. When I called in the order I could almost see the woman on the other end roll her eyes as I asked a few questions. She was so clearly annoyed I figured the place must be busy. When I got there to pick up the order it was not busy at all. The family salad I ordered consisted of wilted poor quality lettuce with a few mushrooms right out of the can and some clumps of salami. The pizza also had mushrooms right out of the can and obviously added to the pizza after it had been cooked. Very disappointed. read more

On one of our "pizza Friday" adventures we ended up here. It was ok. The pizza didn't have much flavor, we couldn't taste the ranch on the ranch flavored wings. The soft drinks are too expensive with no refill. You pay for popcorn that they dump on a tray. I was underwhelmed. It was very blah: food and atmosphere. read more

Ordered a large 4 item pizza to go. I tried to order x cheese as on of the 4 toppings but they wanted $3.50 extra because it was a premium topping. That sort of didn't sit well . Seemed expensive . The toppings were fresh but skimpy on the pepperoni. Honestly it looked good, smelled good but the crust was adequate at best. Overall disappointed! read more

This place is kind of a hole in the wall type place. The pizza here is pretty good. The prices are very reasonable. The only thing I didn't like about the place is they did not have free refills on soda. read more

I have a lot of fond memories of this place and their hysterically fun old time band, who I do not believe play any longer. I am not sure if all Charlie's nieces and nephews died, but it is no longer Uncle Charlie's - simply Charlie's Pub & Eatery. Their pizza is good - although not nearly as good as the nearby John's Wildwood - and their atmosphere is great for families. If you've eaten a lot of John's or are looking for a place to have a large get together, which you can't do at John's, then this is a solid choice for the Edinboro area. read more

Super friendly atmosphere. We come up from out of town ever so often and never not struck up a conversation with a stranger or one of the workers. Joe talked to us the whole time and gave us a free round and some cookies. Super cool guy. Food is delicious and reasonably priced. Go here if you are in Edinboro. read more

Crummy place. Pizza tastes "pre-made" and was barely warm. On saturdays - as in "every saturday" they have the same boring "Hee Haw" band called Salmon Frank, they pretty much emptied the place ..... we left too and won't be back. read more

Let me start off by saying that about two years ago, we stopped frequenting this place because the owner's son, who obviously felt he was some big shot in business, got really snarky with us because we politely called attention to the fact that we had been waiting quite some time for a refill on our drinks (we sat at the bar and ordered food there also). During that time that we waited, he gabbed with the patrons sitting next to us, served other people at the bar and those who walked up to the bar because they didn't get served at their tables. It was not that he was busy because he had loads of time to talk to other people and ignore paying customers. The snarkiness was the last straw. Well, last night we decided to give them another chance after two years so we stopped by. It was like we went into a time warp where nothing changed. The owner's son was not there but we waited over a half hour to get served and when we finally had to leave because we had to be somewhere, we needed to ask for the meal to go. I was admittedly angry that we gave it another chance and the waitress was then snarky when we asked for either the order to be cancelled if it was not started yet, or to take it to go if it was on its way out. I don't understand the business attitude these people have. I have to add that when we initially walked in, there was a very large group of young men waiting to be seated and after 45 minutes and on our way out, that same group of young men were still waiting to be seated. So unless you have unlimited patience, don't even bother going here. Or else if you want dinner, get there about noon and perhaps by dinner time you may get served. read more
